Release notes

[1.76.26] - 2026-09-07
The "Run as administrator" bar at the top of thirty tabs was thirty separate copies of the same thing, and
copies drift. It is now one component, so anything that improves it improves every tab at once. Two tabs get
a visible fix out of that on their own.
Fixed
- The Purge Standby Memory tab's admin bar was missing its shield icon. Every other tab had it. Now that
the bar is one component rather than thirty copies, it cannot be missing from one of them.
- A long explanation in the admin bar no longer gets cut off. The text is laid out so it wraps onto a
second line instead of running past the edge of the bar, which matters most on the tabs with the longest
explanation and on narrower windows.
Changed
- The admin bar is one component instead of thirty copies. Sixty blocks of near-identical markup for a
single element. The colours, corners, spacing and icon were already identical in all of them — but nothing
stopped the thirty-first from being different, and three already were. Each tab now supplies only its own
two sentences: why administrator rights are needed, and what becomes possible once granted.
The App Uninstaller keeps its own bar deliberately: it is the one tab where running as administrator takes
a capability away, so its wording and colour say the opposite of everywhere else.
Added
- A check that no tab can go back to hand-writing its own admin bar, and a second one that a tab hosting
the bar actually provides what the bar needs — otherwise it could render stuck in one state, or show a
button that does nothing, with no error anywhere.
Verify the download
Get-FileHash .\SysManager-v1.76.26.exe -Algorithm SHA256
Expected SHA256: 3E0DC76597F3A0B6CC2B5850C5E203E8B621D1D1650B7EFA345F72815F68A927
This build is not code-signed, so Windows will warn on first launch. That is
expected for a small independent app: see what the warning says and what to
click.
Code signing is planned through the SignPath Foundation,
which provides free certificates to open-source projects, with signing performed by
SignPath.io. Until then, the SHA256 above and the build
attestation below are what establish that a download is the genuine build.
Code signing policy
This release is not code-signed. The team roles, release-approval process and
privacy policy required by the SignPath Foundation programme
are documented in advance under Code signing
policy. That
documentation is a prerequisite for applying, not evidence of a certificate. The
attribution line naming SignPath as the signing provider will appear here once a
certificate is actually issued.
This program will not transfer any information to other networked systems unless
specifically requested by the user or the person installing or operating it. Full
privacy policy.
Verify where this binary came from
This exe was built by GitHub Actions from this public source, and the build is
recorded in the Sigstore public transparency log. With the
GitHub CLI:
gh attestation verify .\SysManager-v1.76.26.exe --repo laurentiu021/SystemManager
That proves which commit and workflow produced this exact binary, something the
SHA256 file cannot show, since it is published alongside the exe it describes.
Each release also ships SysManager-v1.76.26.sbom.json, a CycloneDX inventory of
every dependency resolved for this build.
