Release notes

[1.76.1] - 2026-09-03
The twelve groups down the left of the window now have icons. They were meant to all along: the space for
one was reserved next to every entry in that list, and it was empty, so the whole rail was a column of
text with a blank margin beside it.
Fixed
- The sidebar icons appear. Each entry in the navigation list had a slot for an icon and a property to
hold it, and nothing ever put a character in that property — so the slot rendered as whitespace on all
fifty-eight entries. Every one of the twelve groups now has its own symbol, all distinct: a house for
Dashboard, a hard drive for Storage, a trash can for Cleanup, a shield for Privacy & Security, and so
on. The individual pages inside a group are deliberately left without one. Fifty-eight icons in a rail
this narrow is noise, and the group heading is what you actually scan; the reclaimed space goes to the
page names, which now have room to be read in full.
Changed
- The "running as administrator" badge is a shield rather than a padlock. The padlock is what the
Privacy & Security group in the list directly above it now uses, and one symbol cannot mean both a
subject and "this window has administrator rights" a few centimetres apart. The badge, its position, and
its colour are otherwise unchanged.
Verify the download
Get-FileHash .\SysManager-v1.76.1.exe -Algorithm SHA256
Expected SHA256: 16922A0379C70CA2F4E621AE73152A4FECFE966F1920CDB6B320412F3496A16C
This build is not code-signed, so Windows will warn on first launch. That is
expected for a small independent app: see what the warning says and what to
click.
Code signing is planned through the SignPath Foundation,
which provides free certificates to open-source projects, with signing performed by
SignPath.io. Until then, the SHA256 above and the build
attestation below are what establish that a download is the genuine build.
Code signing policy
This release is not code-signed. The team roles, release-approval process and
privacy policy required by the SignPath Foundation programme
are documented in advance under Code signing
policy. That
documentation is a prerequisite for applying, not evidence of a certificate. The
attribution line naming SignPath as the signing provider will appear here once a
certificate is actually issued.
This program will not transfer any information to other networked systems unless
specifically requested by the user or the person installing or operating it. Full
privacy policy.
Verify where this binary came from
This exe was built by GitHub Actions from this public source, and the build is
recorded in the Sigstore public transparency log. With the
GitHub CLI:
gh attestation verify .\SysManager-v1.76.1.exe --repo laurentiu021/SystemManager
That proves which commit and workflow produced this exact binary, something the
SHA256 file cannot show, since it is published alongside the exe it describes.
Each release also ships SysManager-v1.76.1.sbom.json, a CycloneDX inventory of
every dependency resolved for this build.
