Release notes
[1.42.11] - 2026-06-27
Changed
- The in-app updater no longer uses an on-disk script. Applying an update previously wrote a small batch file to a temporary folder and ran it through cmd.exe to swap in the new build after the app closed. That left a brief window in which another program running as the same user could tamper with the script before it executed. The update is now applied entirely from within the freshly-downloaded (and already hash- and signature-checked) executable itself: it waits for the old version to close, replaces it using a staged atomic file move — so an interrupted update can never leave a half-written, unstartable executable — and relaunches, keeping your run-as-administrator state if you were elevated. There is no longer any script on disk for another process to interfere with.
