Release notes
- Typing no longer yanks the view when you have scrolled past the end of a note. With scroll-past-end on you can scroll until the last line sits near the top of the window; typing, deleting, or pressing Enter on a visible line used to snap the view back so the last line sat at the bottom of the window. The view now stays exactly where you parked it as long as the caret is on screen.
- Split panes stay where you left them. Clicking back and forth between two panes used to swap their scroll positions on the second round trip, because the pane you were leaving was remembered with the other pane's position. Each pane now comes back exactly as you left it, including after you scroll an unfocused pane with the mouse wheel.
- Clicking into a pane right after a split no longer shifts its text. A note with long wrapped paragraphs used to jump by however many extra wrapped rows the narrower pane added above the view.
- Switching panes or tabs from the keyboard (Alt+arrows, Ctrl+Tab, Ctrl+1 to 9) no longer drags the view back to the caret when you had scrolled away to read, and neither does saving, zooming, or changing a setting. The view follows the caret only when you actually type or move it.
- Going back to a tab after opening a new one with Ctrl+T returns to where you were in it instead of the top, and a tab dragged into another pane keeps its place.
0.4.12 September 19, 2026 — 64-bit MSI
Release notes
- Continuity now updates itself. Shortly after launch, and then once a day, it checks GitHub Releases for a newer version and shows a banner with Update now, Release notes, and Skip this version. Update now downloads the release, verifies its checksum, closes Continuity through the normal save path, installs in place (the installer for MSI and winget installs, an executable swap for portable and standalone copies), and reopens. Check for updates in the command palette runs the check on demand; [updates] check = false turns the background check off.
- Pasted tables render cleanly. Rows with long links or logos no longer spill their raw source out below the table, and a logo image in a cell no longer leaves a stray ! in front of the text.
- Ordered lists count items, not lines: pressing Enter after 4. when 3. has an indented sub-bullet now gives 5., not 6..
0.4.11 September 12, 2026 — 64-bit MSI
Release notes
- Clicking back into a window or a split pane no longer jumps the view somewhere else. Whenever the window's layout was refreshed - clicking into a pane after a split or resize, resizing the window, toggling the sidebar - Continuity re-centred the view on the caret, so if you had scrolled away from the caret to read another part of the note, the view snapped back to wherever the caret happened to be (often the top or bottom of the document). The view now stays exactly where you left it; the caret only stays pinned in place when it is actually on screen.
