Notes de la versió
## What's changed
### Added
- **Ctrl+F now searches inside a multi-page PDF in the Quick preview.** Type a word and the
viewer jumps to the page it is on; Enter or F3 walks through the rest, and the bar counts them
the way it already does for text files. Windows' PDF engine hands us pictures of pages and no
text at all, so SageThumbs reads the words off the rendered pages itself, using the text
recognition Windows already ships. Nothing new is downloaded or installed for it.
Reading a long document takes a moment, so the bar says how far it has got: matches appear as
their pages are read rather than after a silent wait, and a document longer than 200 pages
keeps showing how many of its pages were actually searched instead of pretending it read all
of them. If the machine has no text recognition available at all, it says so rather than
reporting an empty result. Matches are shown by jumping to the page, not by highlighting the
word on it.
- **A page-thumbnail strip beside multi-page PDFs in the Quick preview.** Small pictures of
every page run down the right-hand side, numbered, with the page you are reading outlined.
Click one to jump straight to it. It appears only for documents with more than one page, hides
itself on a narrow window where the room is better spent on the page itself, and can be turned
off. Thumbnails are drawn as they come into view and kept small, so a long document does not
pay for pages you never look at.
### Fixed
- **The mouse wheel did nothing on a PDF in the Quick preview.** Continuous scrolling shipped in
2.3.1 with the keyboard working and the wheel not: rolling it over a PDF was silently ignored,
even though the 2.3.1 notes said it scrolled. It scrolls now. Ctrl and the wheel magnifies,
and Shift and the wheel slides a magnified page sideways.
- **Zooming a PDF now redraws it sharply instead of blowing up the picture.** Magnifying used to
stretch the page image it had already drawn, so text went soft exactly when you were zooming
in to read it. Pages are now redrawn at the size you are viewing them at, so they stay crisp.
- **Converting or resizing some camera RAW files gave you the camera's small preview instead of
the photograph.** A Mamiya `.mef` came out **192x144** and a Phase One `.iiq` **304x220**,
when the real pictures are 4016x5344 and 3658x2740. These formats hide the real photo where
the usual decoder cannot see it without knowing the file's name, so SageThumbs was silently
handing you the thumbnail. Convert and Resize now re-read those files at their full native
resolution - the `.mef` really does come out 4016x5344. Thumbnails were always correct and
are unchanged, pixel for pixel, and still just as fast. Formats that were already converting
correctly keep their quick path, so nothing else got slower.
### Added
- **Light or dark is now SageThumbs' own setting, on the Quick preview page.** Until now the
preview and the Settings window followed Windows' app colour setting, so wanting a dark
preview on an otherwise light desktop meant changing the whole system. There is now a
"Theme" choice with Follow Windows, Light and Dark. Follow Windows is the default and is
exactly what every earlier version did, so nothing changes unless you pick something. The
Explorer right-click menu and the preview pane still follow Windows on purpose: those are
drawn inside Explorer's own window, and disagreeing with the shell around them would look
broken rather than themed. Suggested by a user.
### Changed
- **Installing is quicker at the "Registering the modern context menu" step.** That step
unregistered the existing Windows 11 menu package and registered it again from scratch every
single time, which is two deployments where one will do, and it is the step people saw the
installer appear to hang on. It now registers directly and only falls back to the remove and
retry when that fails, and it skips re-importing the signing certificate when the same one is
already trusted. Measured at **1,162 ms before and 552 ms after** on a warm machine. It is
also safer: the old order tore down the working menu before anything else, so any later
failure left you with no modern menu at all.https://github.com/LunarWerxs/SageThumbs-2k/releases/tag/v2.3.2
