Notes de la versió
0.41.0 - 2026-10-08
Read Security and Changed before updating. MCP agents no longer
receive secret values unless you turn on Reveal secrets to agents, and an
agent can no longer send its own scripts while that setting is off. Secrets
are also withheld from recorded runs, exports, logs and several places in the
app that showed them in clear, and the workspace database moves to schema
version 5. New: History shows who started a run, and hovering any time shows
it in your zone and in UTC.
Added
- Hovering a time shows it in your time zone and in UTC, with how long
ago. This covers times in response bodies, headers, variables and the
editors, and Vayu's own times such as run start and end, cookie expiry and
History.
- History shows who started a run. A run an MCP agent started carries the
agent's name, a run with no saved request behind it is marked Unsaved,
and the list filters by origin (App or Agents).
- Save to request turns an agent's unsaved run into a saved request.
Security
- Agents no longer read secret values unless you allow it. A new
Reveal secrets to agents setting in Settings > MCP is off by default.
While it is off, secret variables, the credentials in auth blocks,
credential headers such as Authorization, cookie values, a password or
credential parameter in a saved URL and a proxy password reach an agent
marked as withheld, and a secret that appears in a run's output reads
<redacted>. Requests an agent sends still use the real values, and an
agent cannot clear a variable's secret flag to read it.
- An agent cannot change the proxy or the trusted certificate authorities
unless you turn on the new Network settings switch in Settings > MCP,
off by default and effective only alongside Write access.
- Recorded runs no longer store credentials. A typed Authorization
header, an API-key header and any secret variable value that reached the
URL, params, headers or body are withheld from the request a run records.
Runs recorded by earlier versions are not rewritten.
- Exports blank every credential they can recognise by name, not only
those inside auth blocks: credential headers and query parameters, example
requests, cookies and secret keys in imported auth settings. A header is
kept only when its whole value is one {{variable}}, so
Authorization: Bearer {{token}} is now blanked.
- On macOS and Linux the data directory and everything in it is readable by
your user only, including files an earlier version created. On Windows the
data directories are restricted to your account and administrators.
- Vayu no longer stores the full response an OAuth 2.0 provider returns,
which held refresh and ID tokens.
- A credentialed proxy URL no longer reaches the engine log however it is
written, and request debug logs withhold every credential header,
including the one an API-key auth names.
- The Resolved body view, the Σ peek on Params, Headers and form rows, and
the Params Sends line mask secret variable values, and the proxy URL
setting is a masked field.
- Code snippets mask credential headers by name, and catch a secret that
reached the URL percent-encoded.
- A hostile import file fails without harm: a deeply nested JMeter plan
imports what it can, an OpenAPI spec's $refs cannot read outside the
folder you picked or fetch from your machine, and an oversized import is
refused before it is read.
- A collection's scripts can no longer leave state behind for the next
script to read.
Changed
- The workspace database moves to schema version 5. Once 0.41.0 opens a
workspace, earlier versions refuse it, so going back to 0.40 means
restoring a backup. The upgrade writes a copy of the database beside it
first.
- With Reveal secrets to agents off, run_request and start_load_run
refuse scripts an agent supplies. A script sees every variable the
request resolves against, so it could copy a secret out. Stored scripts in
a collection still run.
- A masked credential header in a code snippet reads
Authorization: <secret>, without the scheme.
- The engine refuses a chunked request body on its local API and caps every
body's size. The app, vayu-cli and the MCP server are unaffected.
Fixed
- The folder and request rename fields keep the label's position and no
longer clip descenders, and the new-subfolder buttons match the field's
height.
- The resolved-value peek and several compact dropdowns and inputs were
smaller than every other control; they match now.
- Internal: OpenSSL 3.6.5 and cpp-httplib 0.59.0, and documentation kept in
step with all of the above.
Every asset carries a build-provenance attestation: gh attestation verify <asset> --repo athrvk/vayu.
