Notes de la versió
15 new controls, a preview before every change, automatic undo when something goes wrong, and a live PC Health dashboard.
PC Tweaker now has 81 controls (46 Free, 35 Pro), up from 66. More important than the count: every tweak tells you what it is about to write before it writes it, undoes itself if an application fails partway, and asks you, one checkbox at a time, before re-applying anything a Windows update has put back.
Highlights
1. The Windows AI layer, under your control. Five new controls cover Click to Do (where available), the Windows AI Fabric service, and the AI features in Microsoft Edge, Paint and Notepad. Turn them off, keep them, or restore them later from the change ledger.
2. Preview before you apply. Every tweak has a "What this changes, exactly" panel behind the (i) next to its name: each registry key, the value it holds now and the value it will be set to, read without changing anything. If an application fails midway, PC Tweaker puts back what it has already written on its own.
3. Your settings survive Windows updates. With "Watch for Windows updates" on, a check runs at sign-in. When a cumulative update has put settings back, PC Tweaker lists exactly which tweaks are no longer in effect, with one checkbox per item. Untick anything you changed on purpose, then re-apply. Nothing is re-applied silently.
What's new, by category
New controls (15)
Windows AI
- Turn off Click to Do (where available): the Windows policy that removes the on-screen AI actions for every account on the PC.
- Stop the Windows AI Fabric service.
- Turn off AI features in Microsoft Edge: hides the sidebar, stops the on-device AI model download, turns off AI history search, AI-generated themes and Copilot's access to page content.
- Turn off AI features in Paint: Cocreator, Image Creator and generative fill. Everything else in Paint works as before.
- Turn off AI features in Notepad: the Copilot writing tools (rewrite, summarize, write).
Startup and storage
- Fast Startup off, so that Shut down is a full shutdown.
- Storage Sense off, so Windows no longer deletes files on its own schedule.
Taskbar, Start and Explorer
- Add End task to the taskbar right-click menu (Windows 11 23H2 or later), so a frozen app can be closed without Task Manager.
- Turn off the drag tray that slides down while you drag a file (Windows 11 24H2 or later).
- Open File Explorer to This PC instead of Home.
- Remove the Recommended section from Start (Education and Enterprise editions only).
- Turn off Widgets entirely through policy, not just the taskbar button, so its news feed stops loading in the background.
Noise
- Block the automatic installation of manufacturer apps.
- Turn off Windows tips and suggestions in one switch: tips, the welcome experience after updates and suggestions in Settings.
Gaming
- Turn off Game Bar captures, including the background recording of your last minutes of play.
Each card shows what the control needs (HKCU or HKLM, administrator rights, Windows version and edition). A control that does not apply to your PC says so, for example "Not available on this PC: it needs Windows 11 24H2 or later", instead of pretending to work.
Safety
- Preview (dry run). The "What this changes, exactly" panel lists every value with its current and new state, with a Copy button per entry; batches list every value they will write.
- Automatic undo. If an application fails partway, the values already written are restored immediately.
- Guided re-apply after Windows updates. The check runs at sign-in and reports only when something has actually stopped being in effect. The report names the build it detected, lists the affected tweaks with checkboxes, and waits for you.
- It touches only what it must. Priority and background-efficiency rules never touch Windows components, and "Leave self-managed games alone" pauses every per-app adjustment while such a game is running, leaving the game exactly as it is.
Monitoring
- PC Health is now a live dashboard: processor load with every core, memory in use, cached and free, disk read and write, network download and upload, graphics load, temperature, fan and video memory on NVIDIA graphics cards, plus "What's using resources", grouped by app from Windows' own process list. Activity can be viewed over 1 or 5 minutes. Where Windows does not expose temperature or fan sensors, the panel says so; nothing is guessed.
- Scan can be paused, resumed or ended. Resume reads only what is still missing. Ending early keeps a partial result that states which checks did not run; unavailable checks remain unknown, never counted as passed. Scan now runs 13 checks; the three new ones cover scheduled startup tasks, optional Windows apps and background-efficiency conflicts.
- Duplicate and large-file searches have a Stop button.
Performance and maintenance
- App priority rules (Pro). Pick an app and a priority. PC Tweaker sets it each time the app starts while PC Tweaker is open, and puts the old priority back when you remove the rule or close PC Tweaker. Never above High.
- Weekly temporary file cleanup (Pro). Once a week, a few minutes after you sign in, temporary files nobody has touched for a day are moved to the Recycle Bin, so they can be recovered. It waits while a game is running and never touches memory or open apps.
- The RAM cleaner works in one administrator step. Windows trims memory for the whole system at once instead of PC Tweaker opening each app, so a manual clean asks for administrator permission and automatic cleanup runs only while PC Tweaker has administrator rights.
- Turbo Boost shows real numbers. Measured processor load smoothed over about three seconds, the measured clock speeds, the power plan's minimum processor state and the apps using the processor most, plus a fixed 3-second workload you can run once in each mode to compare work done, average and peak speed. Numbers only; results depend on the workload.
Interface
- Debloat redesigned. Apps are grouped (Media & games, Productivity, Mail & phone, Windows extras) with their real size on disk. "What you lose" explains each app before removal, including app files, your data and the package identity, and links to its Microsoft Store page for reinstallation. A bottom action bar shows the selection and the space it frees. Nothing is selected for you.
- Uniform badges across Hardware, Startup and the tweak cards, and refined spacing throughout.
- A recovery screen when a page fails: the rest of PC Tweaker keeps working, nothing on your PC is changed by the error, and you can reload the page or the app.
- The window reopens where it belongs, sized and placed correctly every time.
- FAQ updated on the website.
What this means for you
- You see before you change. No tweak is a black box anymore.
- A failed change cannot leave your PC half-configured.
- After Patch Tuesday, you get a list and checkboxes, not a surprise.
- Windows' AI features become a choice rather than a default.
- You can watch what your PC is doing right now, core by core, without opening three other tools.
