- Start Agent Sessions from an Issue:
- You can now start an agent session directly from an issue in Launchpad and from issues in the Left Panel. GitKraken will create a new branch for that issue, open it in a worktree, and launch your selected coding agent with the issue’s context so it can start working right away.
- In Launchpad, select “Start an Agent Session” in the ACTION column on any issue without an associated branch yet to have an agent start working on it. You’ll be prompted with a setup modal to confirm the branch name, coding agent, and other settings before launching the agent.
- In the Left Panel, right-click on any issue and select “Start an Agent Session”, which opens the same setup modal. The option appears only for issues that don’t already have an associated branch.
- Address Claude permission requests without switching worktrees:
- The Agent Sessions panel now shows pending permission requests from Claude Code with allow and deny actions so you can keep Claude working without switching into the worktree.
- If relevant, you can also preview the command Claude is asking permission to run by clicking the caret inline with the allow/deny actions to reveal the command.
Improvements 🙌
- When you sign in with a single profile, GitKraken now automatically connects all the Git providers linked to your gitkraken.dev account, so they’re ready to use right away.
- Added a Ctrl+Alt+F (Cmd+Option+F on Mac) shortcut to focus the search input on the New Tab.
- When a branch is checked out in a worktree, right-clicking it in the commit graph now offers to remove the worktree — optionally deleting the local branch, or the local and remote branches together — instead of a “Delete branch” action that Git could never complete while the branch was checked out. The same worktree-removal options are also available from the worktree menu in the Agent Sessions panel.
Bug Fixes 🐛
- Fixed an issue where signed-out users saw an endless loading state on the Launchpad Pull Requests and Issues tabs; they now see a prompt to sign in.
- Fixed an issue where uncommitted files tracked by Git LFS through a subfolder’s own .gitattributes were not recognized as LFS files in the WIP, so they showed no LFS tag and could be edited as plain text.
- Fixed an issue where re-entering the same expired GitKraken account sign-in code left the form stuck, with the Save button disabled and spinning; it now shows the expired-code message again so you can try a new code.
- Fixed an issue where the Azure DevOps organization picker did not appear when signing back in to your GitKraken account within the app; accounts with multiple organizations can now pick which one to use on re-login.
- The agent workflow panel now preserves its scroll position when you switch workspaces, instead of resetting to the top.
- Fixed an issue where selecting a commit together with the working directory showed an unstaged file rename as a separate delete and add instead of a single renamed entry.
- Fixed an issue where the “Hide all tags” and “Show all tags” options in the left panel Tags section menu were greyed out when a repository contained only annotated tags.
- Fixed an issue where opening a worktree in a new tab could block switching to another tab for a long time while the Jira issue tracker was still loading its issues; tab switches now happen right away.
- Fixed an issue where the currently active worktree’s card in the left panel could show a stale ahead/behind count and uncommitted-changes dot that only refreshed after switching worktrees or restarting.
- Fixed an issue where GitKraken Desktop would spam GitLab API calls.
