- Live agent status support for GitHub Copilot CLI:
- GitKraken Desktop can now track Copilot CLI agent sessions and display their status across worktrees in the Agent Sessions panel.
- GitKraken will also display pending permission requests from Copilot CLI in associated worktree cards, with allow and deny actions to directly respond without switching into the worktree. Dismissing a request hands the decision back to Copilot’s own prompt.
- You can install or uninstall the Copilot CLI Plugin that enables live status reporting from Preferences > External Tools.
- Support for Cursor CLI as your Coding Agent:
- Cursor CLI can now be selected as your Coding Agent. If cursor-agent is installed on your machine it appears in Preferences > External Tools > Coding Agent and in the agent picker on the New Agent Session form, and starting a session launches it in the terminal ready for input.
Improvements 🙌
- Improved Commit Composer: “Compose commits with AI” and “Recompose commits with AI” actions now run on a faster, more reliable engine.
- More reliable grouping — AI output is validated and retried automatically instead of failing outright
- Faster on large diffs, and generated files like lockfiles no longer eat into your token budget
- Accurate authorship — recomposed commits keep their original authors, adding co-authors when a commit combines work from multiple people (previously all attributed to whoever ran compose)
- Real progress updates — the toast now shows the actual stage, plus file/hunk counts, instead of generic timed messages
- Branch dropdowns now show the full branch name in a hover tooltip, so you can tell apart similarly named branches that are cut off by the width of the panel. This covers the branch inputs in the Create Pull Request panel, the base branch inputs in the Start an Agent Session modal and the New Agent Session form, and the reference input in the Create Worktree panel.
- Cloud integrations will initialize slightly faster on launch.
Bug Fixes 🐛
- Fixed an issue where connecting a self-hosted integration (such as Jira Data Center or GitHub Enterprise) failed with “Could not reach the specified Host Domain” when the instance was configured to deny unauthenticated requests; GitKraken now attempts authentication with the provided token before reporting the host as unreachable.
- Fixed an issue where undoing or redoing the drop of the HEAD commit silently discarded your uncommitted changes; GitKraken now asks whether to stash them first.
- Fixed an issue where staging a file whose name contains a character such as [ or * also staged other files whose names it happened to match.
- Fixed an issue where checking out a pull request whose branch lives on a hidden remote could fail with a “Cannot find the ref” error; the checkout now succeeds without having to unhide the remote first.
- Fixed an issue where Serverless and On-Premise clients were shown the option to review pull requests on gitkraken.dev. |

- Worktree tab groups:
- Worktrees of the same repository are now automatically grouped together in the tab bar, making it easier to see which tabs belong to the same project. This can be disabled in Preferences > UI Customization.
- Live agent status support for Codex:
- GitKraken Desktop can now track Codex agent sessions and display their status across worktrees in the Agent Sessions panel, in addition to Claude Code and OpenCode sessions.
- GitKraken will also display pending permission requests from Codex in associated worktree cards, with allow and deny actions to directly respond without switching into the worktree.
- You can install or uninstall the Codex Plugin that enables live status reporting from Preferences > External Tools.
Improvements 🙌
- You can now view GitHub pull request diffs directly from the Left Panel and Commit Graph. Right-click a pull request in the Left Panel, or a branch with an associated pull request in the Commit Graph, and choose “View changes in PR” to automatically select the base and head commits and show the full diff. If either branch’s remote is missing, GitKraken prompts you to add it first.
- Left Panel search now finds remote branches when you include the remote name, such as origin/master or origin:master. Every result the search returned before is still returned.
Bug Fixes 🐛
- Fixed an issue where GitKraken could hang on startup, never showing its window, when a profile on disk was missing its name; the app now falls back to a profile that loaded successfully.
- Fixed several issues where integrations with an expired or stale sign-in could fail to load, show authentication errors, or (for Azure DevOps) not display the organization picker; GitKraken now refreshes the token automatically and prompts you to reconnect only when it can’t.
- Fixed an issue where Launchpad’s My Pull Requests view showed no Bitbucket pull requests when the Bitbucket integration was selected without a workspace; these pull requests now load, and a failure to load them now shows an error instead of a silently empty list.
- Fixed an issue where fetching repositories for a connected integration with no repositories to fetch logged a provider error instead of returning no results.
- Fixed an issue in the New Agent Session form where clearing an invalid or duplicate branch name and quickly retyping the same value could briefly re-enable the Start button before validation reran.
- Fixed an issue in the Agent Sessions panel where the worktree sort and filter selection was cleared when opening a file diff; your selection is now preserved.
- Fixed an issue where the bottom status bar overlapped the “Commit Changes” button after generating a commit message with AI.
- Fixed an issue where opening History or Blame on a file renamed in the working directory showed an empty commit list and a spinner that never finished loading; GitKraken now shows the file’s history under its previous path.
- Fixed an issue where a worktree card’s agent “Running” indicator could stay visible after the agent exited if you quickly selected a different worktree card; it now clears on its own without needing to reselect the card.
- Fixed an issue where the unstaged diff of a modified file could show every line as changed when the file is stored with CRLF line endings in the repository; the diff now shows only the lines you actually changed, matching what Git reports.
- Fixed an issue where “Ignore and Stop Tracking” silently did nothing when the selection mixed tracked files with files that were never staged; the selection is now ignored and the tracked files stop being tracked. A failure while ignoring files now shows an error instead of nothing at all.
- Fixed an issue where pressing Enter while entering a GitKraken account sign-in code did nothing; it now submits the code just like clicking Save, both in the sign-in dialog and during onboarding.
- Fixed an issue where Ctrl+click inside the integrated terminal cleared a user’s text |

New ✨
- Start Agent Sessions from an Issue:
- You can now start an agent session directly from an issue in Launchpad and from issues in the Left Panel. GitKraken will create a new branch for that issue, open it in a worktree, and launch your selected coding agent with the issue’s context so it can start working right away.
- In Launchpad, select “Start an Agent Session” in the ACTION column on any issue without an associated branch yet to have an agent start working on it. You’ll be prompted with a setup modal to confirm the branch name, coding agent, and other settings before launching the agent.
- In the Left Panel, right-click on any issue and select “Start an Agent Session”, which opens the same setup modal. The option appears only for issues that don’t already have an associated branch.
- Address Claude permission requests without switching worktrees:
- The Agent Sessions panel now shows pending permission requests from Claude Code with allow and deny actions so you can keep Claude working without switching into the worktree.
- If relevant, you can also preview the command Claude is asking permission to run by clicking the caret inline with the allow/deny actions to reveal the command.
Improvements 🙌
- When you sign in with a single profile, GitKraken now automatically connects all the Git providers linked to your gitkraken.dev account, so they’re ready to use right away.
- Added a Ctrl+Alt+F (Cmd+Option+F on Mac) shortcut to focus the search input on the New Tab.
- When a branch is checked out in a worktree, right-clicking it in the commit graph now offers to remove the worktree — optionally deleting the local branch, or the local and remote branches together — instead of a “Delete branch” action that Git could never complete while the branch was checked out. The same worktree-removal options are also available from the worktree menu in the Agent Sessions panel.
Bug Fixes 🐛
- Fixed an issue where signed-out users saw an endless loading state on the Launchpad Pull Requests and Issues tabs; they now see a prompt to sign in.
- Fixed an issue where uncommitted files tracked by Git LFS through a subfolder’s own .gitattributes were not recognized as LFS files in the WIP, so they showed no LFS tag and could be edited as plain text.
- Fixed an issue where re-entering the same expired GitKraken account sign-in code left the form stuck, with the Save button disabled and spinning; it now shows the expired-code message again so you can try a new code.
- Fixed an issue where the Azure DevOps organization picker did not appear when signing back in to your GitKraken account within the app; accounts with multiple organizations can now pick which one to use on re-login.
- The agent workflow panel now preserves its scroll position when you switch workspaces, instead of resetting to the top.
- Fixed an issue where selecting a commit together with the working directory showed an unstaged file rename as a separate delete and add instead of a single renamed entry.
- Fixed an issue where the “Hide all tags” and “Show all tags” options in the left panel Tags section menu were greyed out when a repository contained only annotated tags.
- Fixed an issue where opening a worktree in a new tab could block switching to another tab for a long time while the Jira issue tracker was still loading its issues; tab switches now happen right away.
- Fixed an issue where the currently active worktree’s card in the left panel could show a stale ahead/behind count and uncommitted-changes dot that only refreshed after switching worktrees or restarting.
- Fixed an issue where GitKraken Desktop would spam GitLab API calls. |
| 12.3.1 | 16 de juliol del 2026 | 408,5 MB | 64 bits EXE 408,5 MB Notes de la versió“Now keeping an eye on all your agents.”
New ✨
- Added a pin icon to the Graph column header when a branch is pinned to the left. Clicking the pin icon jumps to and selects the pinned branch row.
- The Agent Sessions view in the Left Panel can now bring an external agent session’s window to the foreground. Hover over an agent’s status and click on the eye icon to focus the external agent session. When focusing an external application isn’t possible, a toast offers to relaunch the session in the GitKraken Desktop terminal.
Improvements 🙌
- Updated the bundled Git to 2.54.0.
- The Agents toggle in the left panel now shows the highest-priority status across the open repository’s related agent sessions, with a tooltip showing how many sessions are in that state, so you can spot activity that needs attention without leaving the List view.
Bug Fixes 🐛
- Fixed an issue where “Create branch here” and “Create tag here” did nothing when the target commit was not shown in the graph (the Branch/Tag column was hidden, or the ref itself was hidden); they now open a prompt to name the new branch or tag.
- Fixed an issue where the branch or tag name input disappeared when its target commit scrolled out of view in the graph; it now stays usable, floating at the top or bottom edge of the graph.
- Fixed an issue on Windows where removing a worktree could leave its folder behind (for example, when it contained symlinks to node_modules, or an agent session’s files were still in use) while showing a misleading error, even though the worktree had been removed. GitKraken now cleans up the leftover folder and, if it still can’t be removed, reports that the worktree was removed but its folder must be deleted manually.
- Fixed an issue where typing in the Jira project filter dropdown did not match projects by name.
- Fixed a sign-in error “code is invalid or expired” that could appear when a GitKraken account sign-in code was processed more than once.
- The GitKraken account sign-in now shows a clear message when the sign-in code has expired, prompting you to sign in again for a new code. |

- Unified GitKraken login and integration management:
- Sign in and sign up now happen through your browser at gitkraken.dev, replacing the in-app email/password form.
- New integration connections will now be connected through your GitKraken account and synced across all your devices. You can manage integrations for your GitKraken account at gitkraken.dev as well as from Preferences > Integrations.
- Note: Integrations and login for On-premise clients (both Self-Hosted and Serverless) have not been modified and will continue to be managed locally.
- Multiple WIP nodes in the Commit Graph:
- A WIP node now appears in the Commit Graph for every worktree with uncommitted changes or an active agent session. Each WIP row shows the summary of changes, and — for any worktree other than the one you’re currently in — an agent’s status when a session is active there. Toggle visibility in Preferences > Agents.
- Selecting the WIP row for another worktree will expose an inline “Open Worktree” action so you can easily switch to that worktree.
- Review PRs with GitKraken Code Review:
- The in-app pull request review mode has been replaced with links to a more full-featured review experience on gitkraken.dev. GitKraken Code Review hosts a powerful diff viewer that visualizes moved code, AI-powered overviews and suggestions, and a chat interface to ask questions. Access it from the Launchpad, Pull Requests in the Left Panel, or the Graph.
Improvements 🙌
- When checking out a branch or commit, any WIP (if present) will be automatically selected, so you can prepare your first commit immediately.
- Added text search to filter the worktree list in the Agent Sessions view by branch or directory name.
- Hardened HTML sanitization in the markdown file preview so embedded scripts and iframes in repository content are no longer rendered.
- GitKraken Desktop now shows an error when the file watcher stops receiving file change events from the operating system, instead of silently missing external changes until the app regains focus.
- Added zoom controls (Increase Zoom, Decrease Zoom, Reset Zoom) to the View menu, with the zoom range extended to include 250% and 300%.
- Cloud-connected clients can now sign out of their GitKraken account from the profile menu or the OS menu bar.
- GitKraken AI:
- The usage details now shows your organization’s shared credit pool, with a breakdown of your usage, the rest of the org’s usage, and remaining credits — plus a notice when you’ve hit your personal weekly limit.
- Removed retired Claude 4 models (Claude 4 Sonnet, Claude 4 Opus) as options in Preferences > GitKraken AI. Users previously using these models will be automatically migrated to Claude 4.6 Sonnet.
- Added new Claude model options in Preferences > GitKraken AI when using your own API key: Claude 4.5 Sonnet, Claude 4.5 Haiku, and Claude 4.8, 4.7, 4.5, and 4.1 Opus.
Bug Fixes 🐛
- Fixed an issue where the Sign In link in the top-right corner of the onboarding flow did not work on macOS.
- Fixed an issue where a “create another profile” message appeared inside the SSH settings during onboarding after connecting an integration.
- Fixed an issue where the diff view’s navigation and display controls (Inline/Split/Hunk, ignore whitespace, and word wrap) were disabled for UTF-16 encoded files.
- Fixed an issue where the file tree collapsed when comparing the WIP commit with another commit and the app refreshed.
- Fixed an issue where the Agents view worktree list briefly flickered (emptied and then repopulated) when switching to another worktree.
- Fixed an issue where the “Open this worktree” and “Open worktree in new tab” context menu options were missing for locked worktrees in the Worktrees section of the left panel.
- Fixed an issue where adding a pre-existing SSH key to an integration could display the wrong key name, which risked removing the wrong key from the provider.

- The embedded terminal now dims slightly when focus is elsewhere in the app, making it clearer where keystrokes will land.
- Merged PR pills now also appear for GitLab merge requests in the Toolbar, Commit Details panel, and worktree cards, so you know when a branch’s work has shipped.
Bug Fixes 🐛
- Fixed an issue where multi-selecting the WIP and a commit in the graph showed the wrong diff for a specific modified file.
- Fixed an issue on Windows where comparing the WIP with a commit could show an entire file as changed because of line-ending differences.
- Fixed an issue where multi-selecting the WIP and a commit in the graph prevented the navigation of files with the keyboard from working correctly.
- Fixed an issue where GitKraken could spawn background processes uncontrollably while a terminal was open on macOS.
- Fixed an issue where committing inside a submodule outside of GitKraken Desktop did not refresh the parent repository’s WIP view.
- Fixed an issue where the Diff View of a selected WIP file kept showing stale content after the file changed externally, showing outdated commit information for submodules. |

- Navigate to Preferences > External Tools to install or uninstall the OpenCode plugin for reporting live agent status.
- The New Agent Session button now starts a session immediately with generated defaults, while customization options remain available from the split button menu.
- Added a “Rebase onto this commit” option when right-clicking a commit that has no branches.

- Worktrees:
- New worktrees and agent sessions now inherit view settings (hidden refs, hidden remotes, soloed refs/remotes, and collapsed folders/remotes) from the source repository, so you no longer need to re-hide branches and remotes after creating a worktree.
- Added a “Remove worktree and delete branch” action to the worktree context menu for one-step cleanup of worktrees and their associated branches.
- Agent Sessions view:
- Added a three-dot action menu to worktree cards in the Agents Left Panel view.
- You can now start an agent session directly from an existing worktree’s context menu.
- Refined the New Agent Session form so options are always visible and the branch, coding agent, and Start Session controls are easier to use.
- The base branch selector in the New Agent Session form is now searchable.
- A new “Running” status appears when an agent session starts (Claude Code may show a different status if hooks are enabled).
- Added visual feedback on worktrees in the Agents view to show a worktree deletion is in progress.
- Command Line:
- You can now open a repository by passing its path directly as an argument (e.g. gitkraken . or gitkraken /path/to/repo) without needing the --path flag.
- Review GitHub Pull Requests on GitKraken.dev:

New ✨
- Agent Sessions View – Manage, create, and monitor parallel AI agent sessions from a single panel:
- The new Agent Sessions View in the Left Panel gives you a unified dashboard for your worktrees and active agent sessions. Each worktree is represented as a card showing its branch, uncommited changes, ahead/behind state, and associated PRs so you can monitor multiple agents at a glance.
- If using Claude Code, the associated agent’s status will show in the card so you know when it’s working, waiting for input, or errors.
- The “New Agent Session” action creates a worktree, runs your configured setup commands, and launches your coding agent in one step — making it easy to start a parallel task in a new, isolated environment.
- Add setup commands in Preferences > Agents to configure per-worktree setup commands (dependency installs, build steps, env file copies) so new agent environments are ready to go automatically.
- Configure your preferred coding agent in the inline options menu when creating a new agent session, or go to Preferences > External Tools to set your agent and pass custom CLI arguments when starting agent sessions. This setting currently supports Claude Code, Codex CLI, OpenCode, Copilot CLI, and Gemini CLI (auto-detected based on installation).
- Added a setting in Preferences > UI Customization to hide the Agent view toggle in the Left Panel.
- Terminal – An upgraded terminal that keeps your entire workflow in one window:
- Added multi-session support to the embedded terminal, allowing independent terminal sessions per worktree in a single tab. Switching worktrees will switch to the relevant terminal session automatically.
- Added drag-and-drop support for files and text into the terminal.
- Updated default terminal color theme for improved readability and contrast.
- Upgraded the terminal engine (xterm.js) from v4 to v6, bringing a handful of major improvements:
- Significantly faster rendering with optimized WebGL and DOM renderers, reducing main-thread blocking during buffer resizing.
- Improved glyph rendering with multi-page texture atlas support, removing the previous hard cap on glyph storage.
- Better Unicode and emoji rendering, including fixes for clipped italic emoji and wide character handling.
- Added support for ligatures, additional Powerline glyphs, and new underline styles (dashed, dotted, overline).
- Synchronized output to prevent flicker during rapid terminal updates.
Improvements 🙌
- GitKraken AI:
- Added support for Claude Sonnet 4.6 and Claude Opus 4.6 when using your own API key.

- Removed deprecated Claude 3.x models (Claude 3.7 Sonnet, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, Claude 3.5 Haiku, Claude 3 Haiku, Claude 3 Opus) from AI preferences. Users previously on these models will be automatically migrated to Claude 4.6 Sonnet.
- Shallow Clone Settings:
- You can now set shallow clone options when adding a remote to a repository which is shallow-cloned.
- Repository Management Tab:
- Added resizable columns for repo name, remote, and branch in the Repo Management tab. Column widths persist across app restarts.

Performance ⚡️
In 11.5, GitKraken Desktop got faster across the board: large repo load times, stash refreshes, branch and tag updates, and even memory usage have all improved. More perf improvements to come in future releases!
- Faster commits and checkouts! We saw >100% speed-up on both in the VS Code repository!
- This is thanks to faster branch and tag refreshes (up to 98% faster!), massively speeding up graph updates on repos with thousands of branches/tags.

- Up to 100x faster loading of stashes, further improving repo open speeds on repositories with many local stashes.
- Up to 20% less RAM use
