What's new in v1.1.30
Highlights
- Install skills from a folder, ZIP, GitHub skill-folder URL, or HTTPS ZIP link via Customize > Add > Install skill…, with a review step before anything is written.
- Undo your last theme change or view toggle with Cmd+Z (Ctrl+Z on Windows and Linux) or the command palette's Undo.
- Agent Overview rows now show when a child Agent's dev server or run script is running or has failed, with quick actions to open its preview, view logs, or stop it.
- You can now change the model or context size for a local session while it's still working.
- Right-click a file in the Files tree to open it in an installed editor or custom app via a new "Open in" submenu.
Added
- Added a "Show Git-ignored files" option to the Files tab view menu, so Git-ignored files can be revealed independently of hidden files.
- Agent Overview rows now show when a child Agent's dev server or run script is running or has failed, with quick actions to open its preview, view logs, or stop it.
- Install skills from a folder, ZIP, GitHub skill-folder URL, or HTTPS ZIP link via Customize > Add > Install skill…, with a review step before anything is written.
- Repositories hosted on GitHub are now checked against GitHub's code search index and queued for indexing when needed, with the index status shown in repository settings and the session menu.
- Right-click a file in the Files tree to open it in an installed editor or custom app via a new "Open in" submenu.
- Undo your last theme change or view toggle (such as the sidebar, thinking, file edits, or wide content) with Cmd+Z (Ctrl+Z on Windows and Linux) or the command palette's Undo.
Changed
- Connectors you have already connected now show as Connected right away in Customize while the background status check runs, instead of showing "Checking connector…" for several seconds.
- Expanding a right panel now covers only the session instead of the whole app, so the sidebar stays visible and you keep your place.
- In the Agent panel, Overview, Library and Routines are now pinned tabs that stay first, can't be closed or dragged, and can be hidden from the right-click menu and restored from the "+" menu.
- MCP servers in Customize's Discover list are now sorted by GitHub stars, so popular servers appear first.
- The Agent merge settings cog in the merge drawer is now always available, so you can configure agent actions without turning Agent merge on first.
- The Files tree now shows hidden files and folders by default
- The sidebar section that lists sessions grouped by project is now labeled "Sessions" instead of "Projects"
- Tools are now loaded on demand in every session, reducing the context used by tool definitions
- You can now change the model or context size for a local session while it's still working, instead of waiting for it to finish.
- You can now select multiple files at once when adding files to the Agent Library.
Fixed
- Agents, skills, and MCP servers from organization-required plugins now appear in the composer right after the plugin installs, without restarting the app
- Closing Settings opened from the sidebar now returns keyboard focus to the Settings button instead of the user menu
- Copying a single table cell from a conversation now pastes its plain text instead of a Markdown table
- Customize search now matches queries regardless of spaces between words, so "workiq" finds "Work IQ" and vice versa
- Dragging a tab toward the end of a tab strip no longer scrolls the strip into empty space, and the dragged tab now draws above neighboring tabs instead of showing their labels through it
- Enabling auto-merge on a pull request that is already ready to merge now shows a "ready to merge" notice instead of an "Auto-merge failed" error
- F6 and Shift+F6 now move keyboard focus between the Issues or Pull requests list and the open detail pane
- Fixed a crash on Linux when clicking a Markdown image to open the image preview
- Fixed a stale "Couldn't load automation sessions" error banner that stayed on the Automations page after a cloud automation was deleted elsewhere.
- Fixed automations that kept retrying every minute after their workspace was archived or deleted, when a newer session had taken over that workspace
- Fixed conversations staying stuck on "Working" after a remote session reconnects and recovers its history
- Fixed Git commands failing to launch on some Windows environments that restrict access to a newly started process's initial thread.
- Fixed plugin extensions installed outside the app being stopped and disabled shortly after they became ready.
- Fixed split tabs in the Agent and Chat panels so tab close buttons and the "+" button no longer sit under the Expand and panel toggle controls
- Fixed the app freezing while loading a large number of past sessions.
- Fixed the first message in a new local conversation failing with "The prepared Copilot session is no longer running" after revoking repository trust.
- Fixed the Windows app failing to launch on machines without the Visual C++ runtime installed.
- Holding Ctrl or Command during an active turn no longer pops open the Steer/Queue tooltip on the send button, so editing shortcuts like Ctrl+Backspace don't flash a popup.
- Idle sessions are no longer falsely marked as interrupted when the app restarts a shared Copilot process after an unresponsive check
- If an upgrade fails on supported orphaned records, the app automatically attempts a bounded repair while retaining the original database and preserving projects and sessions. Upgrades that would silently lose projects or sessions are blocked.
- Improved keyboard focus visibility on filled buttons (like primary and destructive actions), including fixing a Stop button where the focused state made its icon hard to see against the red background.
- Inline review and thread-reply prompts now appear as compact prompt cards on the timeline, even when sent right after switching modes such as autopilot
- MCP servers blocked by your GitHub account's policy now appear as failed with an explanation instead of an empty server list
- Microsoft Foundry providers that use Azure CLI authentication now find a signed-in account that matches the resource's tenant, fixing 'Tenant provided in token does not match resource tenant' errors
- On Windows, updating, uninstalling, or reinstalling a plugin now succeeds while other sessions are idle, instead of failing with "Access is denied" or "used by another process". If a running session still uses the plugin, the error names it.
- Organization plugin marketplaces now reuse any GitHub account you're already signed in with instead of asking you to sign in again, and the sign-in prompt names the account and repository access it needs.
- Removed the extra gap between a response and the progress indicator while the agent is still working.
- Replies posted to Azure DevOps review threads outside agent merge no longer get the agent merge attribution footer.
- Repository trust prompts use consistent explanations, make future trust the primary action, show review only when there is content, and dim all choices while approval is pending.
- Restoring a very large local session no longer shows "Failed to restore session" while its history is still loading.
- Saving or cancelling an edit to a long pull request description no longer jumps the overview to the bottom
- Show a clear warning and keep the original model selected when a custom agent rejects a model switch, instead of silently ignoring the request.
- Show in Finder (Explorer/Files) in the file editor now works for published attachments instead of reporting them as unavailable on disk
- Starting a session no longer repeats a git fetch that another worktree of the same repository just completed, reducing startup delay
- The Agents list in Settings now follows the sidebar's order, including Agents in custom sections
- The MCP server catalog in Customize now respects your organization's MCP registry allowlist policy, hiding public registry servers that your organization doesn't permit.
- The new-session composer now shows the account, quota, and available models of the project it targets, so you no longer send a model that account doesn't have.
- Voice dictation now keeps recording when you click into a canvas or browser preview instead of stopping when the app window loses focus
