Added
- Add a /side slash command to quickly open a side chat for a parallel question without interrupting the main conversation.
- Added a setting to control whether Shift+Tab cycles agent modes in the composer, so screen reader and keyboard users can restore native backward focus navigation.
- GitHub Copilot now appears automatically as a read-only model provider in the Model Providers settings when you're signed in with an active Copilot seat.
- If GitHub Copilot fails to start, it now shows a diagnostics dialog letting you copy details or open the log file instead of leaving you with a blank window.
- Local repository text and code files opened in a file tab or the Files viewer can now be edited directly, with changes automatically saved.
- Plan tabs can now be closed and restored from the Add tab menu in the full-height right panel layout, matching Changes and pull request tabs.
- Precise cross-row text selection and copying in diffs is now enabled by default, with an option to fall back to native browser selection if diff scrolling or selection feels slow.
- Pull request views now show when a pull request is in the merge queue, including its queue position, and let users with write access remove it from the queue.
- Pull requests that are part of a stack now show stack status and can be merged together as a stack from the merge drawer.
- When using Auto, completed responses now show which model was actually used, plus AI credits and cache details when available.
- You can now request Copilot code reviews and re-request reviews from reviewers who have already responded.
Changed
- @-mention suggestions in comments now prioritize people already participating in the issue or pull request, such as the author and commenters.
- Cancelled checks now show a muted alert icon instead of a red failure icon, matching GitHub.
- Collapsed tool call groups no longer show a failed-call count in the summary; failure details still appear when the group is expanded.
- Files now open immediately when clicked, without a delay. Use Cmd/Ctrl-click to open a file in a new tab.
- Issue conversations now load progressively, with comments and timeline events streaming in as they arrive instead of waiting for everything at once. Issues with very large comment threads no longer get cut off.
- Large sessions now open faster by showing the most recent messages first while older history streams in the background.
- Pull request file diffs now appear progressively as they load, instead of waiting for the entire diff to be ready before showing anything.
- Removed the dropdown caret from the project, workspace type, and branch selectors in the new session composer for a cleaner look.
- Removed the metadata status bars (start time, duration, output summary) shown below tool calls and reasoning steps in the conversation timeline.
- Right panel tabs are easier to scan, close, and restore, with clearer close controls, adaptive label widths, and support for a narrower panel.
- SQL tool calls now show a human-readable summary in the conversation timeline instead of the raw query, which remains available in the expanded details.
- The Changes tab now uses a simpler diff icon in the full-height right panel layout.
- The file tree in the Files tab now starts at its minimum width by default, leaving more room for file content.
- The review panel can now be resized down to 25% of the workspace width, and the 25% width preset now works correctly.
- Updated the icon for Interactive mode in the prompt composer to a conversation glyph.
Fixed
- Automations now correctly use the saved Long Context model setting when they run on schedule.
- Copying a selection from inside a code block now copies the raw text instead of converting it to markdown links.
- Ctrl+Enter now submits the kickoff prompt in the Sessions widget on Windows and Linux, matching Cmd+Enter on macOS.
- Fixed "Copy path" on files in the artifact tree copying only the file name instead of the full file path.
- Fixed "Create PR + agent merge" sometimes creating the pull request without actually turning on agent merge, especially when navigating away while the PR was being created.
- Fixed @ file mentions showing "No matching files" on Home and other pre-session composers when a project's files had loaded.
- Fixed a brief "Thinking" row flashing and disappearing in the conversation timeline before an agent's response started streaming.
- Fixed a brief flash of "No changes to compare" before a session's diff finished loading.
- Fixed a brief layout jump when responding to a permission prompt or resuming an interrupted session, so the composer settles into its final size immediately.
- Fixed a bug where a background session delivering a message could switch your active chat or side chat and steal focus while you were typing elsewhere.
- Fixed a bug where deleting a project while one of its sessions was still starting up could leave the app unable to close, stuck warning about an agent working in a project that no longer existed.
- Fixed a bug where deleting a session or workspace could silently discard uncommitted work in certain repository setups instead of preserving it.
- Fixed a bug where editing a markdown file could unintentionally remove backslash escapes on unrelated lines, causing escaped characters like headings, lists, quotes, and HTML tags to render incorrectly after saving.
- Fixed a bug where entering a branch name starting with a dash (e.g. "-D") when creating a worktree could silently delete an existing local branch instead of creating the new one.
- Fixed a bug where toggling a skill in Settings could silently re-enable a different skill you had previously disabled.
- Fixed a crash that could occur in the diff view when reviewing changes with an open comment draft while the diff was still updating.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when a message arrived while closing a session.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when deleting a table from the rich text composer.
- Fixed a crash that could replace the whole app window with an error screen when a code block's language label was "proto".
- Fixed a layout shift when a session loaded file-edit rows, where the row now appears in its final position immediately instead of shifting after diff stats loaded.
- Fixed a rare issue on Linux where the app could crash or hang and require a full relaunch to reconnect.
- Fixed a rare issue where the first message in a new session could fail to send, requiring you to manually resend it to continue the conversation.
- Fixed a small layout shift in sent user messages as they transitioned from pending to sent.
- Fixed adding two repositories with the same name from different organizations so each gets its own checkout instead of one add failing or pointing at the wrong repository.
- Fixed Agency falling out of date for users who don't run it directly in a terminal, by keeping it updated in the background when Agency mode is enabled.
- Fixed an issue where pressing Escape while typing in a Settings field (such as custom instructions, the branch prefix template, or the environments base path) could discard your edit instead of saving it.
- Fixed an issue where responding to certain agent prompts (choice selections or custom text answers) could leave the conversation stuck instead of resuming.
- Fixed an issue where sessions could get stuck asking for approval on every tool call instead of remembering your auto-approve preference.
- Fixed an issue where the "Expand up"/"Expand down" buttons in the diff view could occasionally fail to appear.
- Fixed an issue where the agent could automatically merge a pull request while its checks were still running or failing.
- Fixed automation card titles always showing a pointer cursor on hover, even when the "Show pointer on hover" accessibility setting was disabled.
- Fixed automation runs sometimes staying stuck showing as running after they had already finished.
- Fixed code blocks breaking in the markdown editor when opening files with Windows-style (CRLF) line endings
- Fixed conversation rows briefly overlapping earlier messages when opening a session's history.
- Fixed conversation rows sometimes overlapping after resizing the workspace split pane.
- Fixed editing an MCP server with an argument containing spaces silently corrupting its argument list when saved without changes.
- Fixed existing sessions failing to reopen when an organization policy disables unattended tool approval; the session now resumes with prompts enabled instead of getting stuck.
- Fixed folders in the Files tree not being collapsible or re-expandable while a filter is applied.
- Fixed follow-up text unintentionally appearing bold after quoting a bolded reply in the composer.
- Fixed hidden overflow-menu and row-action buttons in settings and other lists incorrectly capturing taps on touchscreens.
- Fixed inline review comments and replies so text with angle brackets (like Array<string> or <summary>) displays exactly as typed instead of being misread as HTML.
- Fixed inline review comments sometimes moving to the wrong line or disappearing when the diff changed while a draft review was open.
- Fixed keyboard focus getting stuck when Tab or Shift+Tab was pressed while an image preview was open.
