Minecraft Bedrock: NetherNet support for Geyser and WaterdogPE
Updated NetherNet tunnels to work with Playit’s NXS signaling service. The agent now forwards NetherNet traffic as UDP, removing the previous dependency on agent-managed signaling sessions.
- Geyser: Bedrock players can connect to your Java server using NetherNet.
- WaterdogPE: Bedrock players can connect through WaterdogPE to a vanilla Bedrock server.
To configure either server:
- Create a Minecraft Bedrock (NetherNet) tunnel.
- Enable NetherNet transport and select nxs signaling.
- Set the NXS endpoint to https://nethernet.playit.gg.
- Copy the token from your tunnel page into the NXS token setting.
- Disable STUN discovery. Manual advertised addresses are unnecessary; Playit determines the address automatically.
- Keep the tunnel’s Proxy Protocol setting at None.
Players connect using the tunnel hostname and port 19132, even if the tunnel page displays a different allocated UDP port.

- Added Windows portable mode: run a single EXE with a terminal interface, without installing a service.
- Windows automatically connects to the installed service when available. Closing the interface keeps service-managed tunnels online.
- Improved the Windows tray with clearer connection status, enabled/disabled tunnel counts, service controls, and shortcuts to logs and the dashboard.
- Added clearer tray startup preferences and a safer “Reset Agent” confirmation that defaults to Cancel.
- Improved Windows installation, repair, and upgrades while preserving existing agent configuration.
- Improved terminal readability and messages for reconnections, account verification, and disabled tunnels.
- Docker now runs without a TUI and writes plain logs to stdout, accessible through docker logs.
- Added Docker secret-file support through SECRET_KEY_FILE and fixed shutdown handling for docker stop.
- Fixed Linux service controls for non-root users and added clearer guidance for socket permissions.
- Linux upgrades now preserve stopped services and services disabled at boot.
- Fixed shutdown hangs affecting portable mode and connected command-line clients.
- Added agent-side Minecraft Bedrock NetherNet support.
- Increased TCP connection rate and burst limits to better handle busy servers.

Notes
- on ConnectionReset we would tear down the UDP connection and let it be cleaned up
- can happen when the origin is no longer online or firewall is blocking
- better to treat as dropped packet so when origin is back we can immediately return to processing data

- Fix UDP bug where if permissions causes a UDP read to fail program closes :face_exhaling:
