[1.58.4] - 2026-08-10
Fixed
- The Windows Update progress bar now actually fills. Version 1.58.2 claimed to fix this and only half did: the bar was told what percentage to show, but it was still stuck in "busy" mode, and in that mode Windows ignores the percentage completely and just sweeps back and forth. So installing updates — one of the longest things the app does — still gave no sense of how far along it was. It now switches to a real filling bar the moment Windows reports a percentage. The Cleanup and Debloater bars fixed in 1.58.2 were genuinely fixed; this was the one that was not.
Changed
- The app's own tests no longer touch your saved speed-test results. Three tests were reading, writing and — in two cases — deleting the real speed-test history file, because that part of the app had no way to be pointed at a scratch location. It does now, so the tests run entirely on throwaway files. Nothing about how the app itself saves your results has changed. This only ever affected anyone running the test suite from source, not the released app, but it also meant those tests could barely check anything; they now verify the saved data properly, including that clearing one engine's results leaves the other's alone.
Verify the download
Get-FileHash .\SysManager-v1.58.4.exe -Algorithm SHA256
Expected SHA256: 39A32E42C87E87A8CC681BE90E1ED5E736A2E0319B79BBF7A44E5E1EB2064E7F
This build is not code-signed, so Windows will warn on first launch. That is
expected for a small independent app: see what the warning says and what to
click.
Verify where this binary came from
This exe was built by GitHub Actions from this public source, and the build is
recorded in the Sigstore public transparency log. With the
GitHub CLI:
gh attestation verify .\SysManager-v1.58.4.exe --repo laurentiu021/SystemManager
That proves which commit and workflow produced this exact binary, something the
SHA256 file cannot show, since it is published alongside the exe it describes.
Each release also ships SysManager-v1.58.4.sbom.json, a CycloneDX inventory of
every dependency resolved for this build.https://github.com/laurentiu021/SystemManager/releases/tag/v1.58.4
