CodeNomad 1.0.1 - Steadier Missions, ranked history search and Linux fixes
CodeNomad 1.0.1 removes the Missions project limit, makes mission states easier to read, and adds relevance-ranked search across a project's history. It also fixes transcripts and questions that could stay stale after a dropped connection, and fixes Linux AppImage display and F11 problems.
Missions
- A project is no longer limited to 20 missions, and storage limits now apply to each mission rather than the whole project. Deleted missions release their storage once their cleanup is done, and the Missions panel loads closed missions as lightweight summaries, so long mission histories stay fast (#1170, #1173, #1175, #1176, #1177, #1178, #1180).
- Mission colours now follow the session list: red when an answer is needed, pulsing yellow for running work, orange for interrupted or paused missions, green for an unseen completion, and blue for a prepared mission that hasn't started. The collapsed chevron only signals answers, running work and unseen completions (#1150, #1155).
- A coordinator can no longer end a one-time mission as failed on its own. When it can't continue, it asks you; a mission that stalls shows as Interrupted and can be resumed with Recover interrupted mission, including previously failed missions (#1150, #1151).
- The creation form now takes up the whole Missions panel and includes the project's subagent nesting depth. An unsent draft is kept when you switch right-panel tabs or projects (#1142, #1155).
- Fixed recurring missions never starting on OpenCode 2.2.0. A failed first start of a recurring run now shows a warning right away and retries after 30 seconds (#1158, #1171).
- Fixed missions on OpenCode Zen's free models being refused at the coordinator's first request because of the mission session identifier format (#1133).
- Fixed nested subagents stopping at depth 1 when a project config was left with an empty experimental block. Inherit now removes that empty block, and the shown depth matches what OpenCode applies (#1153).
- The help now explains that a running one-time mission keeps going in OpenCode while CodeNomad is closed, and lists what waits for the backend (#1137).
History and search
- In the transcript search window, project-wide search now ranks results by relevance (rare words weigh more, exact phrases first, one result per conversation before repeats) and highlights every term. Conversation search stays chronological (#1161, #1164).
- Project search scans the most recent 16,384 messages first, shows up to 40 results, and can search further back in older history (#1182).
- Agents can search the project's past sessions themselves with the session_search Code Mode tool, which stays limited to the calling session's project (#1161, #1182).
- History, cleanup and attachment views now read files stored with OpenCode 2.2.0's opt-in media blobs correctly. Before, cleanup could report a false conflict and attachments could look unavailable (#1172).
Transcript and connection reliability
- Opening a session that is already generating (after a restart, or from a subagent box) now shows its transcript and keeps streaming, instead of staying empty or frozen (#1156, #1181).
- Tool rows that stayed "pending" after a missed event now settle on their own, including when the turn ended during a disconnect. A queued prompt delivered during a disconnect now appears in the transcript (#1169, #1184, #1187).
- Missed questions now appear within seconds on unstable connections, such as a phone going through a tunnel. CodeNomad reconnects a stream that has gone silent, rechecks when the network comes back or the app returns to the foreground, and fetches a question the transcript shows as running when its form never arrived (#1162, #1165).
- New session now shows a spinner while it is being created on a slow network. Repeated clicks or shortcuts no longer create duplicate sessions, and a failure shows an alert (#1157).
- Sessions and permission req

CodeNomad 1.0.0 — OpenCode V2, on desktop and mobile
The best desktop and mobile client for OpenCode V2.
0.20.0 brought CodeNomad to OpenCode V2. 1.0.0 turns more of its native power into a complete workspace: coordinated agents, deeper history access and visual automation, with speed, efficiency and everyday stability at its core.
Highlights
- Desktop and mobile: Pair another device through OpenTunnel-powered Remote Control, with an interface adapted to phones and tablets.
- Very fast and efficient: Responsive streaming and navigation, controlled resource use and persistent workspace state support demanding, long-running agent workflows.
- Missions: Combine OpenCode V2's native sessions, subagents and human questions into coordinated work toward an objective.
- Beyond the public API: Native plugins and RPC unlock full-history queries, timeline navigation and selective cleanup.
- Visual automation: Let agents inspect and operate CodeNomad and desktop browser previews to check what they build.
- An extensible workspace: Files/Git, panel extensions, online help, customizable shortcuts and signed Tauri updates complete the experience.
Built for demanding workflows
- A responsive workspace: Streaming, search and navigation render the content you need, while project restoration prioritizes your active conversation.
- Controlled resource use: Bounded history queries, targeted rendering and lazy Files/Git refreshes support large conversations and busy repositories without loading everything into the interface.
- Built for long sessions: Stable reading anchors and on-demand output expansion let you inspect earlier work while agents continue running.
- Continuity across your work: Saved projects, drafts and window state carry your workspace across sessions; native request recovery keeps questions and permissions connected to their conversations.
Built around OpenCode V2
- The shared OpenCode service keeps conversations available to terminal and other clients. New sessions respect native default agents, including plugin-provided defaults; collapsed families show subagent activity.
- Attach skills through @; inspect Code Mode scripts, nested tool calls and web-search sources. Search providers support global defaults and project overrides.
- Answer native questions and permissions above the composer, with source labels, preserved drafts and readable answer/decision receipts.
- Manage native provider accounts and optionally rotate eligible subscription accounts when a quota is exhausted. Usage follows the selected account; Stats adds service-wide activity, token, recorded cost and per-model views.
Missions and native multi-agent coordination
- An objective becomes a plan: Coordinators delegate to specialists through real OpenCode sessions, native subagents or independent conversations, using your chosen agents, models and reasoning settings.
- Five approaches: Flexible, Debugging, Exploration, Product delivery and Compare two models. The new comparison scenario gives two models the same task, then produces a blind, scored verdict. Dependencies and results remain visible as plans evolve.
- Human decisions stay human: Native questions and permissions bring you into the work; milestone briefings, summaries and reports explain progress without requiring you to follow every conversation.
- One-time or daily work: Prepare and explicitly start a mission, use pause/stop/recovery controls, and save reusable briefs. Execution, background work and plugin infrastructure stay native to OpenCode—not a replacement engine.
From your desktop to your phone
- Remote Control uses OpenTunnel, as does OpenCode's remote pairing: access your running workspace from a mobile browser or another desktop without opening an inbound port or configuring a VPN. Devices are revocable; enabled Remote Control resumes at launch.
- The composer follows the on-screen keyboard; questions and permission actions stay reachable. Tablet panels remember portrait/landscape layouts, wi

Highlights
- A unified Files workspace: Browse Workspace, Changes and Commits in one panel, open central file/diff previews, edit text with Save or Ctrl/Cmd+S, and inspect historical image changes without checking out another revision.
- Better mobile and narrow-window layouts: Conversation controls stay compact, the composer follows the visible conversation height, and desktop minimum sizes respect application zoom. Mobile browser-preview templates now use native touch emulation when available.
- Questions and permissions above the composer: Answer native requests in a dedicated dock without losing your draft. Completed questions retain selected-option descriptions and free text, and permission decisions remain available as durable receipts.
- Native skills and web search: Attach Location skills through @, view structured search results and provider-consent requests, and configure global or project web-search defaults in Preferences.
- Provider account controls: Select, rename and remove native provider accounts, with optional Codex account rotation based on fresh quotas. Usage stays stable across catalog refreshes and repeated connection events.
- Fewer responsiveness stalls: Event routing no longer waits behind worktree discovery, compaction-related discovery is deferred safely, and supported pending-request recovery avoids loading historical Locations.
Files and conversation workflow
- Workspace, staged/unstaged Changes and paginated Commits share file-row preview controls. Selecting a row no longer opens a preview implicitly.
- Stage or unstage files with explicit actions or drag-and-drop; commit actions remain at the top of the staged section.
- Workspace text and Markdown source stay editable in the central reader. Unsaved drafts survive closing or switching readers, and saving checks for external changes before overwriting.
- Git image previews use the actual compared revisions rather than substituting the current file. Historical diffs remain read-only.
- File trees, Git status and history serve cached snapshots and revalidate lazily; Monaco tokenizers ship locally for offline highlighting.
- Question and permission queues retain stable selection and request drafts across refreshes and session navigation. Multiple requests use bounded previous/next navigation.
- Full-history search fills result pages correctly and avoids redundant counting work.
- Enter in a composer picker no longer accidentally submits a draft; model favorites mode persists independently of the active model.
- Preview and persistent utility windows expose a close action in their existing toolbar.
Providers, skills and native tools
- Preferences separates model providers and web-search providers, including a global search default and project override.
- Search results and provider-consent Forms use dedicated native presentation, with raw output retained for unrecognized responses.
- @ skill selection attaches removable badges and sends explicit native skill IDs with the prompt.
- Code Mode output displays native tool-call metadata alongside the existing image/output surface.
- Native provider account ordering determines the active account; environment-based connections remain read-only.
- Codex quota reads follow the selected native account. Optional account rotation is opt-in, checked before prompt/command admission, and never replays a failed prompt.
- Usage panels preserve quota values during provider catalog refreshes and duplicate connection notifications, and explain feature-local runtime limitations.
Mobile, desktop and reliability
- Composer context selectors and actions stay on one row; narrow conversation headers use their overflow menu and hide the timeline below 420 CSS pixels without changing the saved preference.
- Manually resized composer heights are stored proportionally and adapt to visible-viewport changes, including the mobile keyboard. Long drafts remain scrollable.
- Electron and Tauri desktop minimum sizes follow application zo

Highlights
- CodeNomad now runs on OpenCode V2: Projects share the native OpenCode service, so desktop windows and terminal clients can work with the same session history. Closing CodeNomad leaves the shared service running.
- Long conversations stay usable: Transcript memory is bounded, full-history search finds content beyond the loaded messages, and the timeline lets you jump across an entire conversation with contextual previews.
- Move work between Git worktrees: Create and select native worktrees, move a session family together, and retain the right project and branch context as you switch tasks.
- Ask a quick side question with /btw: Get a separate, temporary answer without interrupting the main session.
- A more consistent workspace: New light/dark palettes, clearer conversation surfaces, responsive session actions, persistent search/command windows, and View-menu panel toggles make the interface easier to adapt.
- Better attachments and visual feedback: Device picking, drag-and-drop, and clipboard attachments share one workflow; project files remain available through @ references. Images returned by MCP and other tools now render directly in chat.
Upgrading from 0.19.x
- OpenCode V2 is required. The technical minimum is 2.0.7, which supplies the native step-start timestamp used by the current event reducer. 2.0.16 is the recommended and qualified runtime for this release. V1 runtimes and the former V2 beta protocol are not supported.
- Install and manage OpenCode from startup or Preferences. CodeNomad prefers an executable on PATH and can install into a shared user npm location using bundled Node/npm. Terminal clients can use the same installation.
- Runtime installation and service restart are separate actions. Updating the CLI does not silently restart an already-running OpenCode service. Compatible shared npm installations on OpenCode 2.0.15+ use native upgrade for version changes, including live Windows executable handling.
- Upgrade remote CodeNomad servers to 0.20.0 for the new UI. The published UI manifest now requires server 0.20.0 instead of advertising compatibility with the V1-based 0.19.x server.
- Git enables the complete project/worktree experience. If the backend cannot find Git, directory-scoped conversations remain available while Git-dependent functionality is unavailable.
Sessions, history, and worktrees
- Full-history search, counts, selective cleanup, and global timeline navigation work independently of the currently loaded transcript. Search includes edit diffs stored in tool metadata.
- Large transcripts load bounded windows while preserving access to complete content. Timeline markers retain tool identities, and hover/focus previews show bounded Markdown excerpts.
- Session search uses flat results with optional subsessions; normal browsing retains the parent/child hierarchy. Fork actions are available after both user and assistant messages.
- Native worktree creation, discovery, and family moves use repository ownership checks. Removing a worktree verifies and evacuates affected sessions before deleting it.
- Worktree selectors open without waiting for a fresh Git scan, and saved conversations restore before secondary Git panels and catalogs finish loading.
- Stop and double Escape no longer accidentally restart a parent session. Automatic empty-session cleanup verifies native content before removing anything.
- Active-session model choices survive prompt admission, catalog refreshes, and delayed responses instead of switching back unexpectedly.
Composer, tools, and plugins
- Attach local-device files with the native picker, paste, or drag-and-drop, and reference project files separately through @. Attachment reads follow the active draft and session rather than spilling into a newly selected conversation.
- MCP and specialized tool results can display returned images without inserting image bytes into copied text, search, or speech.
- Global and Project plugin activation switches are separate

Highlights
- Compact mode is much better on mobile: The message UI has been redesigned for compact layouts, with cleaner controls and a denser conversation view that works better on smaller screens.
- Tool output is easier to control: New tool-level expansion settings let you choose how much tool-call detail you want to see, making busy sessions easier to scan.
- Streaming output feels steadier: Bash output, tool output, and assistant responses now stay pinned more reliably while streaming, reducing jumps and missed updates.
- Project sessions are scoped more accurately: Session lists now respect the active project more consistently, so switching projects is less likely to show unrelated sessions.
- Tab closing is more dependable: Closing tabs has been tightened up to avoid cases where the wrong tab behavior could interrupt your workflow.
What’s Improved
- Cleaner compact conversation layout: Message blocks, message sections, tool calls, permissions, questions, todos, and task output have all been polished for a more readable compact experience.
- More useful tool-call presentation: Tool calls now have a stronger registry-backed rendering path, clearer titles, improved status display, and better per-tool output handling.
- Better follow behavior near the bottom of sessions: The session view now tracks bottom-follow intent more carefully, helping the app stay with new output when you expect it to.
- Smoother live session creation: Session-created events from the live event stream are now handled directly, so new sessions appear more reliably without manual refreshes.
- Improved permission denial feedback: Denied permissions now produce simpler, less noisy feedback in the conversation.
Fixes
- More reliable autoscroll during long responses: Hold-mode assistant autoscroll, message-part tool output autoscroll, and streaming bash output pinning were stabilized.
- Less duplicated streaming text: SSE part deltas are throttled and buffered more carefully to prevent stale delta text from being duplicated in streamed messages.
- Better session list isolation: Project session list requests are now scoped so sessions from one project do not bleed into another project’s list.
- More stable tab management: A tab close bug was fixed to make multi-session navigation safer.
- Release pipeline reliability: Winget release automation is now wired into the release workflow so Windows package updates can be published more consistently.
Docs
- New contributor guide: A CONTRIBUTING.md guide was added to help new contributors set up the project and understand the development workflow.
- Winget release docs updated: Supporting documentation for Winget release automation was refreshed.
