| 26.5.0Nyeste | 13. oktober 2026 | — | 64-bit MSI EndringsloggRelease Notes - Ariane v26.5.0
This release adds JSON as a project format, exports of the whole map to OBJ and glTF for 3D tools, two map modes that show how far each station can be trusted, a section preview in the Data Wizard, and a What's new window after an update. Ariane Live and Ariane v2.1 TML files open again, saving is safer, and failures that used to pass silently now show an error message.
New Features
- JSON Project Format:
- Projects can be saved and opened as .json, next to .tml and .tmlu: pick it under Save As. Open, Save, Merge, the library and the aggregator all take it.
- JSON is much faster on large caves: an 83,012-station cave loaded in 1.5 s and saved in 0.8 s, against 7.7 s and 11.7 s as TMLU.
- OBJ and glTF Exports of the Whole Map:
- OBJ (3D) now exports the whole map instead of the 3D walls alone: walls, centreline, stations, entrances, closures, LRUD profiles, annotations, LiDAR and imported 3D models with their textures.
- The new glTF (3D) export writes the same map as a .glb file with one node per part (Walls, Centerline, Stations…), so a 3D tool can show or hide a whole part at once. It is also much smaller than OBJ.
- A dialog chooses the parts to export and the frame: local or UTM coordinates, Z up or Y up (for Blender and Unity), only the stations the filter shows, and the depth multiplier. LiDAR points and LiDAR walls can be exported separately, the centreline can be written as 3D tubes as in the 3D view, and the satellite imagery and KML overlays can be added as a flat textured plane at an elevation you choose.
- Exports run in the background, so a large cave no longer freezes the window, and they tell you when some images or textures could not be included. Both exports need a Permanent license.
- Blunder Confidence and Survey Precision Map Modes:
- BY_CONFIDENCE colours each station and shot by the probability that no unseen blunder lies between it and a start: loops and lines between two starts check their shots, anything else does not.
- BY_PRECISION colours each station by how far it may be from its true position under random instrument errors, after closing every loop.
- Both use the Confidence Zone's settings (confidence and standard deviations of length, azimuth and depth), shown under the draw mode.
- Section Preview in the Data Wizard:
- Selecting a MNemo or JedEye section in the device pane, with a click or the arrow keys, draws it before you load it: a plan with a scale bar and a north arrow, a depth profile, and the section's date, shot count, length and depth range.
- The preview is docked left of the data table and follows the direction you choose (IN, OUT or ONEGO), so you see the section the way it will be loaded.
- A Preview checkbox under the section list turns it on or off, and Ariane remembers your choice.
- Ariane Live and Ariane v2.1 Files Open Again:
- TML files saved by Ariane Live (the .NET version) open again, with their walls, colours and shot dates, and also work in Merge and the aggregator.
- Ariane v2.1 TML projects open again too.
- What's New Window:
- After an update, the first launch opens a What's new window with these notes. The WHAT'S NEW item, next to ABOUT in the menu, reopens it at any time.
Improvements & Fixes
- Safer saving: Save never overwrites an imported DAT or XLSX file (it goes to Save As instead), a failed save now shows an error instead of "PROJECT SAVED", and the project is replaced in one step, so a failed write no longer loses it.
- First start elevation: reopening a project no longer resets the first start's elevation to 0.
- Damaged projects: a project with a huge or infinite angle or wall no longer hangs Ariane or closes it without a message.
- Confidence Zone: deep shots are no longer left out of the zone, and its settings are stored correctly with a French, German or Spanish interface.
- Compass DAT: surveys that continue from an earlier survey get the right depths, and a DAT file opens as a project of its own instead of being adde |
| 26.3.0 | 1. mai 2026 | — | 64-bit MSI EndringsloggRelease Notes - Ariane v26.3.0
This release introduces multilingual UI support (French, German, Spanish), a new dynamic plugin container with proper JPMS module loading, the new XYZ export plugin, an Excel-style data table mode, and a major overhaul of the licensing pipeline.
New Features
- Multilingual UI Support (i18n):
- The user interface is now fully translatable through resource bundles, with built-in support for English, French, German, and Spanish.
- Languages other than English currently rely on automatic translation and may include minor wording inaccuracies. The plugins are open source and contribution is welcome !
- Language is selectable from the Options dialog and persisted as a user preference.
- Translations are delivered as separate plugin modules (fr, de, es), allowing additional languages to be shipped independently of the main application.
- Property files are now loaded with proper UTF-8 handling for correct rendering of accented characters.
- Dynamic Plugin Container:
- Introduced PluginContainer, a new modular plugin loading mechanism built on the Java Platform Module System (JPMS).
- Plugins are now resolved through their actual module names embedded in each jar, making discovery robust even when filenames differ from module names.
- External plugins coexist cleanly with bundled translation and import/export plugins under a unified module layer.
- XYZ Export Plugin:
- New plugin to export survey data in plain XYZ coordinate format, useful for interchange with point-cloud and GIS tools.
- Excel Mode in Data Table:
- Added a spreadsheet-style editing mode with full keyboard navigation (Tab / Enter / arrow keys) for fast data entry across survey rows.
- Reset Preferences / Reset All:
- The launcher now offers explicit "Reset Preferences" and "Reset All" actions to recover from a corrupted local state without manual file cleanup.
- A matching erasePrefs Gradle task is available for developers and support workflows.
Improvements & Fixes
- Plugin System:
- Fixed external plugin name casing in PluginContainer.
- Refactored ModuleLayer retrieval to remain compatible with nested module layers used by the plugin loader.
- Build scripts now compile i18n translation plugins and generate per-module manifest files.
- UI / FXML:
- Refined FXML layouts across multiple views for improved consistency, alignment, and platform behavior under the updated JavaFX version.
- Reverted icon changes in the Layer tab, Carto tool section, and the swap button to preserve the established iconography.
- Fixed null handling in the language display conversion in OptionsController.
- DisplayTool.fxml: wrapped displayDataToggleLabel in a Group and adjusted rotation for correct labeling on rotated views.
- Survey Data:
- Fixed SurveyData#setDate to correctly handle empty string input.
- Optimized local coordinate retrieval by caching offsets in CaveGeo, reducing redundant computation in map rendering paths.
- Build & Tooling:
- Updated Gradle wrapper to 9.4.1.
- Updated GitHub Actions workflows to the latest action versions.
- Updated JavaFX version.
- Image assets refreshed for various tools and icons. |
| 26.2.0 | 25. februar 2026 | — | 64-bit MSI EndringsloggRelease Notes - Ariane v26.2.0
This release introduces the Remote Threshold line drawing mode with start station selection, parallel line rendering for improved map performance, new Polar Least Squares loop closure implementations (both native Rust and CUDA-accelerated), and major enhancements to the 3D map rendering.
New Features
- Polar Least Squares Loop Closure:
- Implemented Polar Least Squares (PLS) loop closure in both a Rust-native path and a pure-Java fallback path.
- PLS adjusts edge azimuths and lengths directly (polar coordinates) rather than Cartesian vertex positions, producing minimum-norm corrections weighted by measurement variances.
- Z coordinates are preserved from pressure-sensor readings in both solver paths; the PLS correction is 2D horizontal only.
- Implemented a new CUDA-accelerated Polar Least Squares solver for blazing-fast loop closure on supported GPUs.
- Optimized the CUDA solver by restructuring the iterative calculations and caching trigonometric edge derivatives.

- Remote Threshold Line Drawing Mode:
- New map display mode that colors survey lines based on a remoteness distance threshold, distinguishing remote segments (red) from near-exit segments (blue).
- Added a start station selector allowing users to compute distance from a specific start station, or from all exits (default empty entry).
- Integrated threshold slider and text field for interactive adjustment of the remoteness cutoff value.
- Enhanced 3D Map Rendering:
- Significantly improved 3D drawing logic for smoother tab switching and added precise camera centering functionality.
- Increased shape divisions for all graphical elements to produce much higher quality 3D shape rendering.
- Unified shadow placement for stations, lines, and corridors.
- Added mouse event handling for interactive station selection in the 3D view.
- Parallel Line Rendering:
- Refactored line rendering to compute coordinates in parallel using Java streams, while keeping JavaFX node creation sequential for thread safety.
- Significant rendering speed improvement on multi-core systems for large cave datasets.
- Privacy & Data Policy:
- Included a comprehensive Privacy and Data Usage Policy.
- Added a directly accessible "Data Usage Policy" button in the About Box that displays the policy with nicely formatted HTML and markdown tables.
Improvements & Fixes
- Features & UI:
- Added color normalization and naming utilities to properly filter and display named colors in the Data Table.
- Simplified task execution calls in the DisplayToolController.
- Performance & Core:
- Added a new JFR (Java Flight Recorder) analysis tool along with automated integration tests for detailed application profiling.
- Fixed lock leaks in MapController coordinate computation and simplified stroke assignment logic.
- Added demo data support for big data mode testing.
