- running the installer over an existing install, which is also what `winget upgrade` does, no longer resets the app or deletes anything not yet sent to your journal. your pairing and your setup stay in place. this applies when the installer you run is this version or newer.
- the tray icon now says connected only when this PC has recently reached your journal. when there's nothing to send, the app checks in with your journal, less often on battery. one failed try, or your journal turning down an upload, no longer switches the icon to offline. when this PC has no network at all, the icon shows offline instead of connecting. after a restart, or when your PC wakes up, it shows connected as soon as it reaches your journal. in settings, "journal last reached" now shows when this PC last reached your journal, and "waiting to sync" shows only while your journal is out of reach.
- after `winget upgrade`, or the installer run with `--silent`, the app now starts again in the tray if it was running before the update. if you had quit it, it doesn't start. from an administrator terminal it stays stopped. updating to this version with `winget upgrade` or `--silent` still leaves it stopped until you open it; this works from the next update on.
