This build fixes a long-standing uv workspace resolving issue on WSL, closes a false positive for dictionaries of methods, and adds a long-requested startup script option for the debug console, along with several other type checking and debugger fixes:
Code Insight
- Calling a method stored in a dictionary (like self.calls[key](arg)) no longer triggers a false positive Unexpected arguments warning - PY-42050.
- Passing a TypedDict where a plain dict is expected now reports a type mismatch instead of passing silently - PY-39241.
- Calling an optional callable without a null check, such as func() where func: Callable[[], None] | None, is now flagged - PY-90534.
- ParamSpec (PEP 612) type parameters are now resolved correctly in generic classes - PY-93095.
- A type parameter is no longer flagged as unused when it's referenced inside a quoted type - PY-93096.
- PyTypeHintsInspection no longer reports a type expression as invalid just because it can't be evaluated - PY-87570.
- Completion and nested schemas, such as Ruff's, now work for tool sections in pyproject.toml - PY-82737.
Debugger
- Set a startup script for the debug console, similar to the regular Python console - PY-21419.
- Dictionary keys appear in their correct order again in the debugger and the inline values preview - PY-75697.
- Stopping a debugpy session now sends SIGINT first for a graceful shutdown, matching the existing pydevd behavior; a second stop sends SIGKILL - PY-92286.
Interpreters and Packaging
- uv workspace member dependencies are now resolved correctly over WSL, instead of being flagged as missing despite being installed and importable - PY-91376.
- Not-installed packages in a Pipfile are highlighted again - PY-90716.
- The Python Interpreters dialog is redesigned to show interpreter paths and let you rename interpreters directly, without extra toolbar actions - PY-89868.
