v0.14.1 Highlights
A small patch release. It fixes model downloads, makes the mobile app nicer to use, and gives the IO tracer a full rebuild.
Bug fixes
- Voiceprint enrollment on desktop no longer needs a download. Before, enrollment could fail with only fetch failed when the voiceprint model could not be fetched from Hugging Face. The desktop app now ships with the model, so enrollment works offline from the first try.
- Failed model downloads now tell you what went wrong. Before, a failed download showed a raw error such as fetch failed. It now shows a plain sentence, for example that the connection failed, the server returned an error, or the download stopped early. Each failed model also has a Retry button, so you don't need to restart anything. The voiceprint settings page on Web and mobile shows the same explanation.
- The Android app stops asking for the microphone on every visit. Before, Settings > Hearing showed "Allow microphone access" each time you opened it, even after you had allowed it. The picker now lists your microphones right away. If you have not allowed access yet, it opens the system dialog for you.
- The mobile stage no longer shows a stuck hearing error. With Listen on and no speech recognition provider, a status pill above the composer showed an error that never went away, even when nothing was listening. The composer microphone and voice presence already show your input state, so we removed the pill.
Product updates
Mobile
- The composer is a little narrower while idle, so more of your character shows. It widens again when you start typing, attach an image, reply, or join a call.
Voice
- Voice draft problems no longer squeeze the draft. Before, an error appeared as a red line that made the draft area smaller and made a working draft look broken. You now see a small warning icon with a count, and you can hover over it to see the list. Microphone and wake word problems now show there too, not only voice input errors.
Look and feel
- We removed many decorative borders across the app. Selected cards, voices, characters, Flux packages, and AIRI Cards now use a soft fill and their check mark or badge to show the selection. The chat panel, provider tags, and module pages look cleaner. Select menus and dropdowns now match the text inputs.
- The character switcher on mobile now crops previews from the top, so tall models keep their heads in view.
Languages
- Korean got a big update. One term now names one concept (for example, Speech, Hearing, and a character's memory), and 467 strings that showed in English are now translated. Thanks, @Daeil-Jung!

No upgrade action is needed. One note for desktop users who upgrade: an older voiceprint model download can stay in your app data folder. To clear it, use "Delete all data" in Settings > Data.

v0.14.0 Highlights

Product updates
Voice
- You can now call your character. In the web and mobile apps, press + in the composer and choose a voice call. AIRI listens the whole time and sends each thing you say right away, with no drafts. Mute stops new input but keeps the call open. On desktop web, the call has a panel above the composer and turns into a small capsule when you minimize it. On phones, the capsule sits under the header with hang-up, a timer, and a waveform.
- One microphone button for every voice mode. The web and mobile composers had drifted into different voice controls, including a hover menu, a full-screen blurred hold-to-record overlay, and a separate Hearing drawer. Now there is one microphone in the composer. Tap it to use the current mode. Long-press or right-click it to switch modes or turn on Auto send.
- Dictation (default): the button becomes a stop button, and the waveform and timer appear beside it. Live text shows in the card above the composer and no longer jumps around inside the text field.
- Walkie-talkie: the text field becomes a hold-to-talk bar. Drag up to cancel.
- Voice message: records audio, like before.
- No mode covers the page with a backdrop anymore.
- A real "Use microphone" switch. Some of you saw the system microphone light turn on when you hadn't asked AIRI to listen. That's worrying, and the old controls only stopped listening without closing the microphone. You can now turn microphone use off from the composer voice menu, the Island controls, the mobile Hearing drawer, or Hearing settings. When it is off, every recording stops at once, and nothing can open the microphone until you turn it back on. It also blocks voice calls and ends a call in progress.
- We also stopped three cases where AIRI opened the microphone on its own: hovering the voice button, opening the mobile Hearing drawer, and turning on microphone input (which opened it twice).
- Your first words are no longer cut off. If you started talking the moment recording began, AIRI could lose the start of what you said, especially on a busy page. Recording now starts capturing much sooner.
Desktop app
- The voice card and listening capsule were hard to read over a busy desktop because their background was very see-through. They now have a solid, readable background in both light and dark mode.
- When the chat dock stood beside the danmaku feed, it jumped about 20px every time it opened or closed. It now stays in place. The closed bar is also wider and easier to find, and button focus rings no longer get clipped.
- Update channel fix: if you switched from Dev to Canary in About and installed the Canary installer, the app could still start the Dev build after restarting, with the Dev badge still showing. It now starts the build from the channel you installed.
Characters and stage
- On the Live2D stage, the presence bubble could hide behind the model, for example when you zoomed in until the head left the canvas. The bubble now always shows in front.
- Minecraft: when AIRI dropped an item for you, someone else picking up any item could make AIRI stop waiting and report a timeout even though you got it. AIRI now keeps waiting until you pick it up.
Look, language, and polish
- Status messages (errors, warnings, success, loading) now look the same everywhere. About 35 hand-made banners used four different warning colors, and some broke in one color mode. For example, the Discord, X, and gaming "configured" boxes stayed light green in dark mode, and extension errors were unreadable on light backgrounds. They now share one consistent style that stays readable on see-through panels.
- Some banner text that was stuck in English is now translated.
- Chinese text in settings could mix two fonts, so some characters looked bold. This happened when your system language list put Japanese first. AIRI now tells the sys

v0.13.1 Highlights
A small release that mostly fixes things: updater fixes, a security runtime bump, Linux packages, and fewer surprises when you turn modules off.

Bug fixes
- The desktop app could get stuck on "Loading..." after an update. After a page-only update, the main window could stay on the loading screen for up to five minutes. The broken update was also never rolled back. The window now loads right away after the update, and a build that fails to load is rolled back.
- Some update channels always failed. The About page offered seven update channels, but only four exist. If you picked latest, alpha, or beta, every update check failed. We now show only Stable, Canary, Nightly, and Dev, and we move your old choice to the matching channel. "Auto" also now finds the right channel for nightly and release-candidate builds. Before, it fell back to Stable.
- Some installs were stuck on "up to date". Some 0.12 installs never got the full installer that v0.13.0 needed, and some nightly and dev installs had the same problem. They now get new installers. When an update has to be installed by hand, the About page tells you so and links to the download page.
- Turning off Hearing, Speech, or Vision no longer clears its settings. You can now switch these modules off and back on without losing your provider, model, voice, or credentials. Provider selectors also offer None now. With Speech off, AIRI stops speaking but still replies in text and still uses tools.
- The wake word on the web could stay on "preparing" forever. In that state, no voice input started. Voice input now starts as expected.
- Minecraft chest actions now move the right amount. Before, the agent moved only the first matching stack but reported the full amount. For example, it moved 64 items but said it had moved 96. A failed transfer could also leave the chest open. Transfers now count all matching stacks and report what really moved, and the chest closes every time.
Product updates
Desktop
- You can now turn off automatic update downloads. This helps on a metered connection. When it is off, the About page shows the new version, and the download starts only when you click Download Update.
- The About page is easier to read. Your version now shows as badges: the release, a sub-version, and a color-coded channel. The update button sits next to them and stays there in a narrow window. The repeated "you're on the latest version" text is gone.
- The message feed fits better next to your character. When the chat sits beside the character with the feed on, the dock now stands along the side as a slim bar, like a phone's home indicator. It opens when your cursor comes near. A free-floating chat still has the dock across the top.
- New Linux packages. Each release now also builds an AppImage and a .pacman package, next to the .deb and .rpm packages. Arch users can install with pacman -U, and an AUR -bin package can use it as its source. Users of other distributions can run the AppImage without installing anything.
Web and mobile
- The voice draft card is gone for now. It covered the stage on mobile and was never really designed. Voice input from the composer microphone works as before. A redesigned voice draft experience comes in a later release.
Polish
- Error panels look better. The buttons no longer cover the message, the panel fits its content, and only stack traces use the monospace font. That font is now Maple Mono.
- Colors that were tinted by hand now follow your theme hue, including the dynamic hue animation and dark mode.
Security
- We updated Electron to 43.8.4 and Node.js to 26.12.1 / 24.22.1 to fix CVE-2026-111497, a flaw in the Node.js Brotli decoder. This is a runtime update, so the desktop app must install a full new installer to get it (see Upgrade notes).

Product updates
Find any setting in seconds

- The settings home now has a search field. It finds settings pages, the settings on those pages, and your own items such as cards, models, voices, stickers, and memories. Open a result and AIRI scrolls to that row and highlights it. You can move through the results with the arrow keys, and press Cmd+F or Ctrl+F to jump to the field.
- The AIRI card page now uses the same search field, so it works the same way.
Know what needs your attention

- The settings home now tells you when something you use cannot work, and why. Previously, a broken setup could fail quietly, for example replies stayed text-only and you got no hint about the cause. Now it lists:
- Providers that failed their last check, or that are not set up yet.
- Characters that have a speech provider but no model or no voice.
- Characters, or Hearing, that point to a provider they cannot use, for example a provider you removed.
- Voice input in Always on mode with no transcription set up, so your speech starts nothing.
- The list only shows things you actually use. Providers you never set up no longer show up as "API key is required."
- Edit now takes you straight to the setting you need to change and highlights it, so you don't have to hunt around the page. Dismiss hides an item on this device until its setup changes.
Desktop updates, over the air

- The desktop app can now download most updates without a new installer. It applies an update with a quick reload or a restart, depending on what changed. If a new version does not start up properly, AIRI rolls back to the previous one.
- The about page shows the version that is actually running, and lets you choose an update channel. There is a new dev channel that follows every change on main, for anyone who likes living on the edge.
- On Steam, Flatpak, and Nix, AIRI leaves updates to your store or package manager.
New providers
- You can now use Runcrate as a chat provider. It serves open models such as DeepSeek, GLM, Qwen, and gpt-oss.
- You can now choose DeepSeek for web search in Settings → Modules → Web Search. Tavily stays the default, and your Tavily key stays where it is. Any chat model that can call tools can use it.
Experience improvements
- On phones, the Hearing panel now shows microphones and input modes as plain rows, so you no longer open a menu inside a drawer. If AIRI cannot use your microphone yet, the panel shows an Allow button in place of an empty list. After a denial, it tells you where to allow access, and the desktop chat menu can ask for access too.
- If you leave the web version open for days, it now checks for a new version every hour, when you come back to the tab, and when you go back online. The update prompt stays on screen until you answer it. Not now hides it for 6 hours.
- Chat header and floating chat dock buttons look more consistent. Hovering an "off" toggle no longer makes it look "on", and the character name button now matches the buttons next to it.
Bug fixes

- The selected character is now remembered. Previously, AIRI went back to the default character every time you restarted. It now opens with the character you picked last.
- Replies could be silent after you signed in with the official speech provider. Settings showed a voice, but speech failed with "Speech requires a model and voice." Replies speak again.
- In the web version, replies could be silent when AIRI was open in more than one tab, for example one tab on the Stage and one on settings. Replies now always play in the tab that shows your character.

Live2D
- You can now select the MAGIC1 driver to generate Neuro-sama like motion (aka Neuro bump).
- The driver includes bundled Idle / calm and Speaking / excited profiles. It can preserve speech lip sync and keep the character looking forward.
- Live2D imports now show a clear report before import. It lists model data, absent references, unreferenced resources, and steps to fix each issue.
- Live2D ZIP archives created on macOS now import correctly. Hidden metadata no longer prevents the importer from finding model files and expressions.
Speech
- You can now use VOICEVOX Engine or AivisSpeech Engine as a local speech provider. Each provider includes connection and voice controls.
Bug fixes and polish
- Chat now reliably creates or restores a session during startup in single-window and multi-window setups.
- Short mobile chat histories now sit above the composer. New messages stay near the bottom, while upward scrolling keeps your reading position.
- Chat, settings, onboarding, and other panels now use consistent scroll areas. On desktop, the chat composer remains fixed while the history scrolls.
- On iOS, microphone access now opens the system permission prompt instead of closing the app. The app remains open after you deny access.
- The desktop local server now starts reliably on Windows and macOS. Socket setup no longer requests unsupported port reuse.
- The desktop title bar no longer shows an inactive information icon.
To developers
- @proj-airi/server-runtime now gives each port to one listener and disables reusePort. This prevents unsupported socket errors across desktop platforms.
To contributors
- New internal gamepad packages normalize browser controllers, provide Vue lifecycle integration, and add PlayStation 5 DualSense USB and Bluetooth support.
- The Live2D Motion Control workbench now supports recording, editing, playback, filtering, keyboard and controller input, and procedural motion generation.
- Fresh Electron 42 setups now install Electron before dev or start, so the desktop app no longer fails before launch.
- The retired transcription package and its stale CI command are gone. Nix dependency hashes and the documented typecheck command are now current.

Product Updates
Desktop Companion
- You can now use voice input directly in the desktop companion. AIRI listens through the configured microphone, buffers short transcript fragments, and avoids feeding its own speech back into chat while it is talking.
- You can now move the desktop window back to the center of the current display from the controls island or the desktop data settings. This helps recover AIRI when the window gets awkwardly positioned or ends up hard to reach.
- Microphone permission handling is more reliable in the Electron app, while still limiting permission grants to AIRI-owned local pages.
- Desktop sign-in is more robust. Invalid auth callbacks no longer consume the one-time login flow, and the standalone auth UI now accepts the newer AIRI backend origin.
- Settings entry icons are now preserved in production builds, so settings navigation should no longer lose icons after bundling.
Character Cards And Models
- Character cards can now be imported and exported as AIRI .zip packages.
- Exported packages include the character card plus supported display model resources, so sharing a character can carry more of the setup with it.
- Invalid or incomplete card packages now show clearer import errors.
- Live2D model loading now handles non-ASCII file names inside restored model folders and avoids double-encoding already encoded paths.
Account And Cloud Reliability
- AIRI now records AI generation, LLM usage, Stripe identity, and checkout-related analytics more consistently. This improves billing, support investigation, and product health tracking without changing the visible checkout flow.
- PostHog event naming and forwarding were normalized across app and server surfaces, making account and usage events easier to correlate.
To Developers
- @proj-airi/pipelines-audio received stronger event typing, playback manager cleanup, ACT payload normalization, transcript buffering, and clearer error handling for speech and playback flows.

- You can now use Amazon Bedrock as a chat provider.

Chat & Settings
- The chat input could flicker or feel unstable in some cases. We adjusted the input behavior so typing and sending messages should feel smoother.
- When a message fails, you can now retry it directly instead of recreating it manually.
- Some chat bubbles, buttons, tabs, and input scrollbars did not fit cleanly. We fixed several layout issues to make the chat UI feel more polished.
- Some provider lists in settings were hard to reach because they did not scroll correctly. We fixed this so all options should be accessible.
- Kokoro’s default model is now saved correctly on first visit.
- You can now clear OpenAI-compatible speech model fields when you want to reset them.
Artistry
- You can now use Artistry to generate or work with images through supported image providers.
- AIRI Card creation and scene settings now have better image-related controls and previews.
- Generated image results in chat are easier to inspect with the new journal preview flow.
Models & Local Inference
- You can now get clearer feedback when importing Live2D models. AIRI checks the model structure and shows a report when something looks wrong.
- We improved WebGPU-based local inference for speech, TTS, and background removal. This should make local model loading, cancellation, and recovery from GPU issues more reliable.
- Some CJK and keep-text speech processing cases could strip text incorrectly. We improved the audio text processing pipeline to handle those cases better.
Computer Use
- AIRI now has an experimental Computer Use foundation for observing the desktop and interacting with browser content.
- Browser actions are now routed through DOM-aware tools where possible, which should make web interactions more accurate than coordinate-only clicking.
- We added safer session tracking, read-only DOM inspection tools, transcript-based state tracking, and improved desktop overlay behavior.
- Some macOS cursor, display geometry, iframe coordinate, and cleanup issues were fixed to make the experimental desktop flow more stable.
Mobile & Stage
- You can now use a transparent background in Stage Pocket.
- We added an early Godot Stage preview. This is experimental, but it gives us a path toward richer stage runtimes.
For Plugin Developers
- You can now build plugins with the new Kits API, Bindings API, Tools API, and Gamelet API.
- Plugin manifests now use plugin.airi.json.
- Plugins can now provide custom widget UI.
- We added a local loopback server so plugin assets can be served more safely inside Stage Tamagotchi.
- We added an initial chess gamelet example to show how the new Gamelet API works.
- We improved plugin host structure, debugging, auto reload, asset mounting, and iframe messaging through @moeru/eventa.
- Some plugin tools were not being enabled correctly. We fixed that so plugin-provided tools can be used as expected.
