Udgivelsesnoter
[1.64.5] - 2026-08-12
A right-click menu entry with an unusual name can no longer make SysManager write a file where it should
not. Nothing about using the Context Menu tab changes.
Security
- A crafted right-click menu entry could redirect SysManager's backup file. Before turning a right-click menu entry on or off, SysManager saves a copy of the relevant registry key so the change can be undone. It built the command for that backup using the entry's own name — and a program running on your PC can create an entry whose name contains a quotation mark, which broke the command apart and let the rest of the name decide where the backup was written. Since SysManager is often started as administrator, that file could have landed somewhere it had no business being. SysManager now checks the name first and skips the backup with a note in its log if the name cannot be used safely, instead of running the command anyway. Ordinary entry names — spaces, dashes, brackets, symbols — are unaffected, and the same check was already being applied elsewhere in SysManager for the same reason; this was the one place it had been missed.
Verify the download
Get-FileHash .\SysManager-v1.64.5.exe -Algorithm SHA256

This build is not code-signed, so Windows will warn on first launch. That is
expected for a small independent app: see what the warning says and what to
click.
Code signing is planned through the SignPath Foundation,
which provides free certificates to open-source projects, with signing performed by
SignPath.io. Until then, the SHA256 above and the build
attestation below are what establish that a download is the genuine build.

Verify where this binary came from
This exe was built by GitHub Actions from this public source, and the build is
recorded in the Sigstore public transparency log. With the
GitHub CLI:
gh attestation verify .\SysManager-v1.64.5.exe --repo laurentiu021/SystemManager
That proves which commit and workflow produced this exact binary, something the
SHA256 file cannot show, since it is published alongside the exe it describes.
Each release also ships SysManager-v1.64.5.sbom.json, a CycloneDX inventory of
every dependency resolved for this build.https://github.com/laurentiu021/SystemManager/releases/tag/v1.64.5
