The Recycle Bin is measured the way Windows counts it, so an empty one reads as empty, and every way SysManager
empties it now says so in Recent activity.
Fixed
- An empty Recycle Bin read as one file to delete. Deep Cleanup and Quick Cleanup sized the bin by walking its
folders, which also counted the files Windows keeps there for itself: the desktop.ini each bin folder holds even
when the bin is empty, and an index file beside every deleted item. On Deep Cleanup an empty bin still showed 129
bytes in 1 file for each drive and arrived ticked, and a bin of 10 files on one drive read as 21; Quick Cleanup's
label read "0.0 MB in Recycle Bin" for an empty bin. Both take the size and the item count from Windows now, which is what Explorer shows and what emptying
removes: an empty bin reads "Empty" and is not ticked, and a deleted folder counts as one item however many files it
holds. A bin Windows cannot measure is shown as skipped rather than as empty. Deep Cleanup since its Recycle Bin
category was added (0.5.0), the Quick Cleanup label since it was added (0.12.2).
- Emptying the Recycle Bin left no trace in Recent activity. Quick Cleanup's Empty Recycle Bin wrote nothing
there, and the Quick Tune-Up recorded only the temporary files it removed ("Freed 120 MB"), even after permanently
emptying gigabytes from the bin; its status line and notification left the bin out too. Someone looking later for a
file they had deleted could not tell that SysManager had emptied the bin. Both record it now with what the bin held,
for example "Freed 120.0 MB of temporary files and permanently emptied the Recycle Bin (12 items, 3.0 GB)". The
Tune-Up's freed total includes the bin, and its card says what the bin held, that it was already empty, or that it
could not be emptied. Deep Cleanup's result names the bin as well when a clean empties it. Since Recent activity was
added (1.17.0).
- Emptying an empty Recycle Bin could end in "Windows refused the request". Empty Recycle Bin asked Windows to empty
the bin whatever it held, and counted every answer but two as a refusal, though Windows does not document what it
answers for an empty bin. It looks first now: an empty bin is reported as already empty and left alone, and when
Windows answers with an error, whether the bin is empty afterwards decides the result. Since 1.61.5.
- Empty Recycle Bin looked as harmless as Rescan. It wore the same grey style as the Rescan button beside it, though
what it removes cannot be put back. It is red now, like the other buttons that delete for good, and it, Deep
Cleanup's Clean selected and Browser Cleaner's Clean selected tell a screen reader what they do before they are
pressed. Since the button was added (0.3.0).
- Closing SysManager could cut off Empty Recycle Bin or Remove leftovers without a word. Every other command that
deletes takes the lock that makes closing SysManager, or restarting it as administrator, ask first; these two did
not, so either could be stopped part-way, and Empty Recycle Bin could run while Deep Cleanup or the Quick Tune-Up was
emptying the same bin. Both take it now. Empty Recycle Bin since it was added (0.3.0), Remove leftovers since it was
added (1.124.0).

This build is not code-signed, so Windows will warn on first launch. That is
expected for a small independent app: see what the warning says and what to
click.
Code signing is planned through the SignPath Foundation,
which provides free certificates to open-source projects, with signing performed by
SignPath.io. Until then, the SHA256 above and the build
attestation below are what establish that a download is the genuine build.
Code signing policy
This release is not code-signed. The team roles, release-approval process and
privacy policy required by the SignPath Foundation programme
are documented in advance under Code signing
policy. That
documentation is a prerequisite for applying, not evidence of a certificate. The
attribution line naming SignPath as the signing provider will appear here once a
certificate is actually issued.
This program will not transfer any information to other networked systems unless
specifically requested by the user or the person installing or operating it. Full
privacy policy.
Verify where this binary came from
This exe was built by GitHub Actions from this public source, and the build is
recorded in the Sigstore public transparency log. With the
GitHub CLI:

That proves which commit and workflow produced this exact binary, something the
SHA256 file cannot show, since it is published alongside the exe it describes.
Each release also ships SysManager-v1.130.8.sbom.json, a CycloneDX inventory of
every dependency resolved for this build.
