Notes de la versió

### Added

• **`wmux setup-hooks --signals-only` installs the lifecycle signals without
the per-tool-call permission gate.** The remote-approval gate is a wide
`PreToolUse` hook, so Claude Code spawns the bridge on every single tool call
— ~120 ms on Windows 11, of which ~85 ms is bare `node` startup. That cost
cannot be optimised away once the hook is registered, and `gatedTools:[]`
does not help:a policy of "gate nothing" still spawns the process that asks.
It buys nothing for a terminal-only operator either, because both things the
wide hook does need a web surface — approvals arm only under
`wmux web --allow-input`, and the tool-name liveness it feeds is fanned out
only to web clients. `--signals-only` installs the turn-boundary signals and
the approval-card pair and stops there; `--with-gate` puts the gate back. The
profile is derived from `settings.json` rather than stored beside it, so a
bare `wmux setup-hooks` — the app-update refresh and the in-app install
button included — keeps whatever is already installed instead of quietly
re-adding the gate.

• **`wmux web --allow-input` now says when the permission-gate hook is
missing.** Enabling input is what arms the gate, so it is the only place that
can catch a signals-only install:without the hook no tool call ever raises
an approval, and nothing else reports it — the phone simply never rings.
`wmux setup-hooks --status` also stops calling an absent gate a defect when
the signals-only profile is the reason it is absent.

• **A `Matrix` terminal palette** — phosphor green on green-tinted black, in
Settings → Terminal Palette. Green carries the identity (foreground, cursor,
the green slot and a green-cast white), but red and yellow keep their warmth
so a failing test, a removed diff line and a warning still read as
themselves, and blue/cyan/magenta are separated on the hue wheel rather than
collapsed into green, so `ls` can still tell a directory from an executable.

### Changed

• **The agent roster spends its width on the name, not on repetition.** In a
workspace where every session runs the same agent, the vendor name is no
longer printed on each row — it returns as soon as a workspace mixes vendors,
which is when it answers something. Polish status labels lost their "Agent "
prefix (the row already names the agent) and gained the missing
awaiting-input label, which had been falling back to English.

### Fixed

• **A pane reports that it is working when the agent starts a turn by itself.**
A background task finishes, the agent picks up and works for a minute — and
the pane kept wearing the previous turn's `complete` for the whole thing,
because the only two things that could start a turn were you pressing Enter
and a hook that a plugin-less install does not wire. Byte activity now counts
while a pane is settled, held back by a cool-down after the turn end, by your
own keystrokes still echoing, and by a resize still repainting. A pane waiting
on an approval is left alone:only answering it retires a question.

• **A pane's own overlays can no longer paint over app chrome.** The pane box
did not contain its layering, so anything inside one — a decoration badge, a
terminal find bar — could land on top of a dialog or an overlay elsewhere in
the app. Panes now stack independently, and the terminal's right-click menu
opens above everything instead of being clipped or misplaced by the pane
around it.

• **"Don't ask again" now sticks on the Claude Code hook-install prompt.**
Dismissing the modal only ever hid it for that process, so anyone who had
decided against installing hooks was asked again on every launch and on every
raise of agent mode. The prompt now carries a durable refusal that survives
restart and upgrade and silences both of those moments. "Later" is unchanged —
it hides that showing, and raising agent mode still warns you that lifecycle
signals are degraded. Turn prompting back on from Settings → integration
setup. (#968)

• **The in-app update installs again.** Clicking "Install now" downloaded and
verified the release, restarted wmux, and came back on the old version — with
Settings still offering an install that then did nothing at all until the app
was restarted by hand. The installer is launched by a detached waiter that
refuses to run until every process under the install root is gone, and wmux
was holding that root open itself:the handoff force-killed every `wmux.exe`
under the root except the daemon, and on Windows our own renderer, GPU and
utility processes are that same `wmux.exe`. The very next step quits, and the
quit handler waits for a session save in the renderer that was just killed, so
the quit never finished. The main process stayed alive for a full day across
two attempts, holding the tree the waiter was waiting to see released.
The force-kill now takes only what nothing else ends — the MCP servers, which
run out of the install root but belong to agent hosts. Our own processes exit
with the app, and the waiter still waits for all of them, so the installer
still cannot start against a live tree.

• **A quit can no longer wedge the app.** The teardown's force-exit fallback was
armed only after every teardown step had finished, so a step that never
settled left a process that had cancelled its own quit, latched the quit flag,
and armed no timer — alive, window-less, and ignoring taskbar clicks and
relaunches, recoverable only by killing it. The deadline is now armed before
anything can hang, and the renderer's session save is bounded rather than
waited on indefinitely.

• **A refused install says so instead of going quiet.** If wmux is still running
well after it asked to quit for an install, it now reports what happened —
including the waiter's own reason when it left one — and clears the
in-progress latch, so the next attempt is not answered with "an update install
is already in progress" forever. And a retry cannot race the first attempt's
waiter into launching the installer twice:only one waiter per install root
ever runs — a newcomer finds a live incumbent and yields to it.

• **The install waiter no longer goes blind after 24 days of uptime.** Its
budget was measured with a 32-bit millisecond counter that wraps and turns
negative, at which point the remaining time overflowed, the wait threw, the
error was swallowed, and the whole guard silently became a no-op. It is
measured with a monotonic clock now.

• **Terminal colour overrides survive a restart.** Customising individual ANSI
colours on top of a palette preset (Settings → Terminal Palette → Customize
terminal colors) worked for the rest of the session and was then lost at the
next launch:the custom-theme migration that runs on every session load
rebuilt the theme from a fixed field list that did not include the overrides,
while documenting itself as idempotent. The preset id survived, so only users
who tuned individual colours were affected.

• **"Needs input" is translated again.** The status that means an agent is
blocked waiting for you was missing from every locale but English, Korean and
Chinese, so in the other nineteen it rendered in English inside an otherwise
translated sidebar — the one status a user has to act on being the one that
looked out of place.

• **An update you already downloaded is no longer downloaded again.** The
verified installer's path lived only in memory, so a restart — or an install
that aborted — forgot about the ~150 MB Setup.exe sitting in temp, and the
cleanup sweep deleted it a day later. wmux now recognizes an installer it
already has, re-checks its SHA-256 against the current manifest before
trusting it, and keeps the installer for the version you have not taken yet.

• **An installer is checked again in the moment it is run.** Verification used
to happen when an update was found, and the install could be days later —
long enough for the file in the shared temp directory to become a different
file. wmux now re-checks the bytes against the release digest immediately
before handing them to the installer, and refuses to run them if they do not
match.

• **A shortcut repair that could not run no longer reports success.** If
Windows refused the COM object the icon-repair pass used, the pass quietly
reported "nothing needed fixing" — so a taskbar icon that stayed blank after
an update left no trace of why. The pass now says it failed — whether COM
was refused outright or not one shortcut could be opened — retries a refused
COM object once inside the same time budget, and writes what Windows
returned to the install log.
