What's new
- Easier settings: preferences are grouped by feature, related settings link to each other, and search is always available in the sidebar. Adjust the application's font size for more comfortable reading.
- Better text recognition: choose Accuracy First or Speed First, and use Smart Typesetting to organize recognized text according to its layout.
- More convenient translation (Snow Shot): set primary and secondary target languages. Text already in your primary language translates into the secondary language; other text translates into the primary language.
- Scrolling screenshots: open a dedicated settings dialog to adjust scrolling capture options.
- Clearer Windows updates: see update progress and apply downloaded updates on the next launch.
- Smoother everyday use: reduced memory overhead for large images and faster settings, history, and pinned-window operations. Fixed undo/redo shortcut handling, serial-number synchronization after deleting annotations, and color-picker interference with toolbar popups.
Available for Windows x64 and Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 15 or later. Snow Shot Mini includes the applicable screenshot, OCR, settings, and performance improvements; translation remains a Snow Shot feature.
Install on macOS
Run this in Terminal as your normal user:

The installer verifies the download and installs the app in Applications. On first launch, grant Screen Recording and Accessibility permissions when prompted. If GitHub is unavailable, download the same installer from the Gitee release below.
Downloads
- Windows: choose the online installer or portable ZIP for either edition. Snow Shot also offers an offline installer with the OCR files included.
- macOS: choose the matching Snow Shot or Snow Shot Mini ARM64 DMG, or use the Terminal command above.
Files ending in -update.zip are for the built-in Windows updater.
