Desktop dashboard — unified on the CLI-hosted React surface. The old Tauri+Preact dashboard inside the desktop bundle is gone (#1418). Desktop now embeds the same CLI-hosted dashboard the browser surface already uses, so there's one React app rendering chat across all three surfaces (CLI, browser, desktop) instead of two divergent implementations drifting apart. Cuts the duplicate rendering paths that caused tool cards, code blocks, and compacted history to look subtly different depending on where you opened the same session.
Presets — flash/pro are the only knobs now. The preset abstraction is removed (#1657, #1630): config now exposes model + effort directly instead of indirecting through preset: auto | flash | pro. The /pro switch is dropped too — flash and pro remain as direct model selections. Per-skill flash/pro override lands with a Settings UI (#1632) so subagents can opt into a heavier model without reconfiguring the parent.
Cumulative usage stats — persisted + auto-restored. Session token totals and accumulated cost now write to the session meta on each turn and reload on startup (#1667, #1680 follow-up). Cost telemetry survives a CLI restart or desktop relaunch instead of resetting to zero, and the context-size readout shows the current window, not the all-time cumulative cache count (#1643). SessionStats caps at 200 turns with cost carryover so long-lived sessions don't unbound (#1628).
Plans — editMode="plan" enforced at the dispatch gate. Plan mode now blocks write tools at the ToolRegistry dispatch layer (#1681), not as a per-tool soft check. Plan steps also advance correctly when intermediate actions are skipped (#1629), so the "current step" indicator no longer stalls on a step the model already completed.
Context — fold once at turn start. The pre-flight fold pass is gone — context folding now happens once at the start of each turn instead of being threaded through mid-turn checks (#1642, #1646). The obsolete byte-ceiling check is dropped too. Compacted history renders as a single collapsible card on all three surfaces (#1649), so the fold is visible without dominating the scrollback.

TUI.

Diff rendering — CJK column-border alignment. SplitDiff no longer misaligns the column border when CJK characters appear in either side of the diff (#1686). The width math now accounts for double-width graphemes when laying out the gutter.
Subagents — per-skill model override. Each named skill (/explore, /research, /review, /security-review) can now override flash/pro independently (#1632), with a Settings UI to manage the overrides. Defaults flow from the parent session.
MCP.
- Workspace roots are passed to MCP servers on connect (#1625), so servers that scope by root see the right project
- codeCommand honors the full normalizeMcpConfig pipeline including inline mcpServers blocks (#1603, follow-up to #1568)
Config.
- (baseUrl, apiKey) is resolved as a tuple instead of two independent fields (#1658), so a partial override on one no longer silently falls through to the env value of the other
- Stale model IDs self-heal on load; v3 IDs are dropped from the picker fallback list (#1663)
- Theme rename follow-up from #1666 closes out the prompt-input + user card token migration (#1678, #1666, #1623)
Memory. JobRegistry self-cleans entries for completed jobs (#1620), so long sessions don't accumulate dead job records that never release their references.
