Device Sync can convert files on the server
By @circle3451, PR #1643
- Device Sync → Format can store tracks as MP3, AAC or Opus with a maximum bitrate instead of the original files; your server converts them while syncing. The format must be enabled in the server's transcoding settings.
- Copies are replaced in place when the format or bitrate changes, or when the file on the server changes. Devices synced before keep their original files until another format is chosen.
Track subtitles and album versions from Navidrome
By @Psychotoxical, PR #1662
- A track's subtitle (e.g. "Instrumental") now appears after its title in every track list, and an album's version (e.g. "Deluxe Edition") after the album name — also for libraries synced through Navidrome's own API, which previously showed them only in some places. Existing libraries are updated once in the background.
- The album page shows the version under the album title when the title does not already include it.
Similar albums on the album page
By @circle3451, PR #1663
- A Similar albums row below "More by artist" suggests albums that sound alike, found by AudioMuse from a few tracks of the open album. Albums by the same artist are left out.
- Needs Navidrome 0.62 or newer with the AudioMuse plugin; the row stays hidden on other servers, offline, or when nothing is found.
Play songs from a list on a single or double click
By @Psychotoxical, PR #1668
- Settings → Input → Mouse chooses whether a song in a list plays on a single click or on a double click, so a stray click no longer replaces what is playing. The play button on a row always plays with one click.
- Track lists now highlight a row: click it or move with the arrow keys, then press Enter to play it. Holding Ctrl adds more rows to a selection, including the highlighted one, and Escape clears the selection.
- The Tracks page and search results now follow the same setting; before, songs there only played on a double click.
Device Sync playlists with absolute paths
By @circle3451, PR #1669
- Device Sync → M3U path style gains Absolute, which writes full file paths into the playlists, for software that does not resolve relative entries. It is available for every layout.
- Absolute paths include this computer's drive letter or mount point, so the playlists only resolve while the device appears under the same one.
Device Sync moves files instead of downloading them again
By @circle3451, PR #1670
- When a playlist is reordered or the layout changes, copies already on the device are renamed to their new place instead of being downloaded again.
- A track removed from a synced playlist, or from a source you remove from Device Sync, is now deleted from the device as well.
Device Sync to a folder on this computer
By @circle3451, PR #1671
- Device Sync can now sync into an empty folder on the computer's own disk, for example to import the playlists into DJ software. Psysonic asks once before using the folder.
- Only an empty folder can be chosen, and Psysonic never takes over or deletes files it did not write there.
Sort albums by year
By @circle3451, PR #1672
- All Albums and Lossless Albums can now be sorted by Year. It starts newest first, and choosing it again switches to oldest first. Albums from the same year are ordered by artist, then title.
- In the table view, the Year column header does the same: the first click sorts newest first, and each click after that flips the direction.
Browse albums by the moods in your music files
By @Puppies-On-Acid, PR #1675
- The new Moods page groups the mood tags exposed by your server for individual tracks. Pick a mood to browse its albums, with album counts, library selection and incremental loading for large collections.
- Existing libraries build the local mood index from cached track metadata after upgrading. The index stays in sync when tracks change and rebuilds after a Navidrome ID migration. No music files or server tags are changed; servers that do not expose track moods ha |

Burn audio CDs from your library
By @starrlord, PR #1538
- A new CD Burner page writes a running order from your library to a blank CD-R as a Red Book audio disc, on Windows, macOS and Linux. Gapless or with the usual two-second gaps, optional level matching across tracks, and CD-TEXT, so players that support it show track and artist names. Tracks you have not downloaded are fetched when the burn starts, without touching your offline library.
- Rehearse runs the whole burn with the laser off, so a running order can be checked without spending a disc. After a real burn the disc itself is read back instead of trusting what the drive reported while writing.
- Right-click a track, album or playlist and choose Add to CD to build the running order.
Album descriptions and comment tags on the album page
By @Psychotoxical, PR #1569
- The album page now shows the description your server holds for a release, under the genre tags. Long ones are trimmed to two lines with a link to read the rest in place.
- It also shows the comment tag from your files — notes like "Remaster 2024" that had nowhere to appear before. Shown only when every tagged track on the release says the same thing, so a note about a single track is never presented as one about the album.
Shuffle now applies to a list you start playing
By @Psychotoxical, PR #1576
- With shuffle switched on, double-clicking a track in an album, playlist or favourites now queues that whole list in random order, starting with the track you picked. Until now the list arrived in its own order while the shuffle button said otherwise.
- Switching shuffle back off puts the list into the order it had when you started it.
Clear the queue without stopping the current track
By @cucadmuh, PR #1581
- Right-click the queue's Clear button to remove its history and upcoming tracks while the current track keeps playing from the same position.
Browse all your favourite albums as a grid
By @Psychotoxical, PR #1583
- Clicking Albums on the Favorites page now opens All Albums showing only your favourites, so hundreds of them can be browsed as a grid with sorting and filters instead of scrolling one long row.
Create and manage Navidrome shares inside Psysonic
By @cucadmuh, PR #1586
- Enable sharing in the new Settings -> Integrations -> Navidrome section, then create public links from supported tracks, albums, artists, playlists, composers and the play queue without opening the server website.
- The new ND Shares page collects links from the selected servers with artwork, type and item counts. Play a share, add it to the queue, inspect its exact contents, copy or open the link, and remove it from the server in one place.
- Pasting or searching a managed share opens the same preview flow, while mobile and desktop navigation keep the page available wherever sharing is enabled.
Finding the switch for the artist photo in fullscreen
By @Psychotoxical, PR #1590
- The artist photo behind the fullscreen player can be turned off for every style — the switch just lives on another tab, under Integrations → Backgrounds. Settings → Appearance now says so next to the style picker and offers a button that opens that section directly.
Every genre a track carries, and its mood tags
By @Psychotoxical, PR #1591
- Song Info now lists all of a track's genres instead of the first one. Files are often tagged with several, and the album header showed them while the dialog did not.
- Two new tracklist columns, both off until you pick them in the column menu: Genres shows the complete set next to the existing single-genre column, and Mood shows the mood tags stored in the file (MOOD / TMOO).
- Song Info also shows those mood tags now. Its mood row used to appear only for tracks the app had analysed, so a tagged file showed nothing.
The queue scrolls while you drag a track to its edge
By @Psychotoxical, PR #1598
- Hold a dragged track against the top or bottom of the queue and the list scrolls along, so a song can be moved further |

Settings open again after importing a backup
By @Psychotoxical, PR #1561
- Opening Settings → Themes could replace the whole Settings page with an error message, on any platform, for anyone who had ever imported a settings backup. Root cause: the import wrote the stored interface language back with quotation marks around it, which is not a language code the date and time formatting accepts.
- Affected installs repair the value themselves on the next start, and exporting a backup from one now produces a clean file. The language dropdown shows the language name again instead of a raw value.
Card grids no longer overlap on wide windows
By @Psychotoxical, PR #1565
- On a wide window with a low column setting, each row of album, artist, playlist, radio and Offline Library cards was drawn over the row above it: titles were hidden and the bottom of every card was cut off. Rows are now as tall as the cards they hold, at any tile size.
- The bigger the screen, the sooner it appeared — a 4K display overlapped at seven columns and fewer, while a narrower window or more columns looked correct. Both render the same now.
Navidrome 0.64 migrations start earlier and finish faster
By @cucadmuh, PR #1570
- Upgrading an existing Navidrome server to 0.64 now starts the canonical-ID migration before library writers and unrelated background servers can hold it up. The startup screen shows responsive progress for each stage instead of appearing stuck during long operations.
- Native ID rewrites, library projections and the final full sync do less repeated work and reuse authenticated bulk connections, substantially reducing the migration time on large libraries.
- A clean Psysonic setup connected directly to Navidrome 0.64 skips the blocking migration pipeline entirely. When a migration is needed, its details identify the configured server by name. |

Native Navidrome smart playlists — detect, edit, and refresh
By @JayDawgThaGOAT, PR #1428
- Smart playlists created in Navidrome or other clients now appear with a sparkle marker and keep their server-evaluated tracks read-only instead of exposing manual membership controls.
- The Playlists page can create and edit native rules in Basic, Advanced, or lossless JSON mode, preview matching tracks, refresh results, and preserve nested groups and server-specific fields.
- Feature availability follows the connected Navidrome version, with warnings when the server drops unsupported clauses after saving.
Scrobbles are no longer lost when a service is unreachable
By @Psychotoxical, PR #1482
- A play that could not be sent — no connection, a service that was down, an expired login — used to disappear without a trace. It is now kept and sent later, automatically: when the connection returns, when you reconnect the service, and otherwise every few minutes. Kept plays survive restarting Psysonic.
- Each destination in Settings → Integrations shows how many plays are still waiting to be sent, so a service that has quietly fallen behind is visible.
- Plays are kept for 14 days, which is as far back as the services accept them.
Windows updates install from inside the app
By @Psychotoxical, PR #1487 and PR #1488
- On Windows the update dialog now installs the new version itself, the way it already does on macOS: the installer is downloaded, its signature is checked against the key built into the app, and it runs in the background. Psysonic closes and reopens by itself when it is done.
- Until now Windows only offered the installer as a download to run by hand. Installs of this version and later update in place; an older install still downloads the next installer once.
- Long translated button labels stay inside the update dialog: the window is wider, and the controls wrap onto another row when needed.
Device Sync playlists reuse songs already on the device
By @cucadmuh, PR #1501
- Albums and playlists now share one physical copy of each song instead of placing another copy inside every playlist folder. Playlist files point to the shared artist and album path, saving device space, transfer time, and duplicate entries in portable-player libraries.
- Existing Device Sync layouts migrate on the next sync. Interrupted work keeps a recovery plan and only resumes or removes old files when the same removable device is connected again.
Choose where missing album covers come from
By @enncoded, PR #1502
- Settings → Integrations → Album artwork lets you order and switch the sources Psysonic falls back to when your server has no cover for an album: the server itself, Apple Music, and now Last.fm. The first enabled source that returns an image wins, and dragging reorders them.
- Discord keeps its own separate switch under Rich Presence and still publishes nothing until you pick an option there.
Rate the current track with a global shortcut
By @cucadmuh, PR #1503
- Settings → Input → Global shortcuts now offers separate, unbound actions for assigning 1–5 stars to the current track, even while Psysonic is out of focus.
Psysonic follows your desktop's theme
By @Manwe-777, PR #1507
- On a Linux desktop that publishes its colours — Omarchy does out of the box — Psysonic now themes itself to match, and re-themes itself within a couple of seconds when you switch your desktop theme. No restart, nothing to keep in sync by hand.
- The generated theme appears in Settings → Themes as Desktop — <your theme's name>, next to a Follow desktop theme switch. Existing installs keep the theme they already had and start with the switch off; picking any other theme by hand also turns following off, so your choice sticks.
- Any other desktop works too: point PSYSONIC_PALETTE_FILE at a file of name = "#rrggbb" lines. Naming only a background, a foreground and an accent is enough — the rest of the theme is derived from those three.

Scrobbling — configurable threshold and force scrobble
By @JayDawgThaGOAT, PR #1425
- Settings → Integrations → Music Network now has a 25–90% scrobble threshold (default remains 50%).
- Advanced settings can show a Force scrobble action in the player bar and fullscreen player. It shows listening progress and can immediately submit the current track to the media server and every enabled Music Network destination.
Full names on hover, wherever a card cuts one off
By @Psychotoxical, PR #1433
- Hovering a card whose title or artist is too long to fit now shows the complete text. Multi-disc releases carry the disc number at the end of the title, so it was exactly the part that got cut — telling disc 1 from disc 3 meant opening each album.
- Applies to album, artist, playlist, radio, song and offline cards, and only appears when the text is actually shortened, so nothing pops up where there is nothing to reveal.
- Can be turned off under Settings → Appearance → Display.
- Screen readers now announce album cards and the offline play button in the selected language; both were stuck on a German word regardless of the chosen language.
Table view for the album catalogue pages
By @Psychotoxical, PR #1435
- All Albums, New Releases and Lossless can switch between the card grid and a table. The choice is remembered per page, so one catalogue can stay a table while another stays a grid.
- The table lists cover, title, artist, song count, year, duration and the date an album was added, and drops columns from the right as the space narrows. Title and year sort from the column headers.
- Song count, duration and the added date now reach every album browse surface, including filtered views and the lossless catalogue, where one or the other used to be blank.
- Albums added in the last two days show the new-release ribbon on the All Albums grid as well, not only under New Releases.
Telling your own playlists apart from shared ones
By @Psychotoxical, PR #1454
- A server hands over your own playlists together with every public playlist of everyone else on it, all in one undivided list. The Playlists page can now separate them into your own, the ones you share, and the ones other people share with you.
- The switch only appears once something on the server is actually shared, and it works alongside the folder view and the search box instead of replacing either.
- Your playlists are now recognised as yours no matter how the username was capitalised when the server profile was created. A mismatch there previously also left the delete button greyed out on your own playlists.
Playlist covers in the sidebar, and a sortable playlist list
By @Psychotoxical, PR #1455
- The sidebar playlist list shows each playlist's cover and how many songs it holds. Playlists without their own cover keep the plain list icon.
- The list can be ordered by name, by when a playlist was created, or by how many songs it has. The setting is remembered and applies to the sidebar and the Playlists page alike — the page had no ordering of its own until now.
- The personal / shared split from the previous entry now applies to the sidebar list as well.
Offline downloads — resume interruptions and survive slow servers
By @cucadmuh, issue reported by @jsongerber, PR #1457
- Original-quality offline downloads no longer fail just because the whole transfer takes more than two minutes. The timeout now measures stalled reads, so a slow server can keep sending for as long as data continues to arrive.
- Interrupted downloads can resume from a verified partial file instead of starting over. Changed or unsafe server responses discard the partial cleanly, while cancellation, disk-space reservations and concurrent download attempts no longer race the final file.
- Album, artist, playlist and favourites pins now keep every owner, survive restarts and server-address migrations, and do not return after the user cancels them.

True simultaneous multi-server support — use every server as one music library
By @cucadmuh, PR #1326
- Select music folders from several configured servers in the same priority-ordered library scope. Psysonic browses them simultaneously without making you switch the active server before every search, album, artist or playback action.
- Home, Albums, Artists, Composers, Genres, Favourites, Playlists, Folder Browser, Search, Most Played, Statistics, album details and artist details aggregate the selected servers into one catalogue. Shared music is de-duplicated by scope priority instead of appearing once per server.
- De-duplication no longer discards physical ownership: each logical track, album and artist retains every concrete server source. Psysonic can therefore show one clean catalogue while still knowing exactly which server must handle playback, artwork, metadata and mutations.
Mixed-server playback — one queue can play tracks from different servers
By @cucadmuh, PR #1326
- A single queue can contain tracks owned by different servers. Each item resolves its stream, cover, lyrics, ReplayGain data and analysis against its own server instead of whichever server is currently active.
- Server play queues are pulled, updated and reconciled per owner, so mixed queues survive restart without one server replacing another server's tracks. Gapless, crossfade, infinite queue, shuffle, history and queue restore keep the same ownership.
- When one copy cannot play, a new source chooser can offer equivalent copies from the selected servers rather than failing the whole action. Album, artist and track source controls also let you choose a specific physical copy when that distinction matters.
Server-aware destinations and actions
By @cucadmuh, PR #1326
- Playlist creation, smart-playlist editing, radio actions and other destination-sensitive flows select the target server explicitly instead of silently using the active server.
- Context menus, ratings, favourites, sharing, offline pins, device sync and Orbit carry the item's owner through the complete action. Creating an Orbit session from a multi-server scope now asks which server should host it, temporarily keeps only that server in the library scope and shared queue, then restores the previous scope when the session ends.
- Sharing a mixed-server queue opens a compact server picker directly below the share button; choosing a server copies its tracks immediately, while single-server queues still copy without an extra prompt. Unavailable servers are marked with an explanatory warning.
Debug logging — selectable multi-server diagnostics
By @cucadmuh, PR #1331
- Settings → System → Logging and PsyLab → Logs offer basic and verbose debug-depth levels while Debug logging is enabled. Verbose mode adds structured multi-server scope, reachability, music-folder and New Releases diagnostics, with credentials and sensitive URL data redacted.
Streaming quality — per-address Navidrome bitrate and format controls
By @Manwe-777, PR #1334
- Saved Navidrome servers can request no bitrate cap or a 320…64 kbps ceiling, with Auto / MP3 / Opus / AAC as the target format. Settings are stored per address, so LAN and public endpoints can use different quality profiles and playback follows the connected endpoint.
- Offline pins, favourites sync and hot-cache prefetch use the original-stream path; confirmed Navidrome profiles request format=raw, while other servers keep the existing uncapped request. Transcoded live bytes are not promoted as original files, and completed-stream reuse stays isolated by endpoint, account, format and bitrate cap.
- Waveform, loudness and enrichment may analyse the played stream, but canonical results stay anchored to the original file's validated raw fingerprint. Different bitrate representations share one track revision, and a failed original probe cannot overwrite library identity.
- Because analysis stays anchored to the original, the first play of a track that arrives t |

Square corners — sharp-edged cards and covers
By @Psychotoxical, PR #1215
- New Square Corners toggle under Settings → Appearance → Visual Options → Display overrides the active theme to render cards and cover art with square, non-rounded corners. Covers album, playlist, artist and song cards, detail-page cover art, the Now Playing / Radio and fullscreen views, the cover lightbox, the queue cover, and the mini player. Off by default; buttons, inputs and dialogs keep the theme's corners.
Discord community banner
By @ImAsra, PR #1222
- A dismissible banner inviting you to join the Psysonic community on Discord appears after 20 hours of accumulated app use. Join opens the invite; dismiss it for the session, or choose Never show again to hide it permanently. The icon renders at a consistent size on every platform, including Windows.
Bulgarian translation
By @akirichev, PR #1228
- Full Bulgarian (Български) UI translation — selectable from the language picker on the Settings and Login screens.
Artists browse — album vs track credit mode
By @cucadmuh, PR #1232
- Toggle Album artists vs Track artists on the Artists page — album mode lists indexed album artists; track mode includes performers from the local artist index (featured/guest credits). Star filter works in both modes; the choice persists across app restarts like Show artist images.
- Letter bucket filter (A–Z, #, OTHER) runs in local SQL instead of scanning catalog chunks client-side, so late-alphabet picks load promptly on large libraries.
- Artist name search no longer depends on query letter case for Cyrillic (and other non-ASCII) names when the local library index is enabled.
CLI — relative volume and quieter scripting output
By @cucadmuh, PR #1238
- psysonic --player volume +5 / volume -10 adjust the current level by that many percent; volume 80 still sets an absolute level (use -q before --player when the delta is negative so it is not parsed as a flag).
- CLI invocations no longer print WebKit/NVIDIA workaround notes on stderr; on Linux, remote --player forwarding runs before WebKit startup so helper processes exit with less noise.
Theme Store — per-theme changelogs and pinned updates
By @Psychotoxical, PR #1240
- Each theme card now has an expandable What's new with per-version release notes, so you can see what a theme update changed — including non-visual fixes. Provided by theme authors; themes without notes just don't show the section.
- Installed themes with an available update now appear at the top of the store list instead of wherever the sort placed them, so you don't have to hunt for them.
Multi-library filter — browse and search across selected libraries
By @cucadmuh, PR #1241
- The sidebar library picker now supports multi-select with priority ordering: browse, search, genre and album/artist detail views aggregate across the chosen libraries and de-duplicate shared items by priority. Built for large libraries — scoped SQL uses the hot library_id column with covering indexes and FTS-first matching.
- Identity matching that powers cross-library de-duplication now normalises names per shipped locale (folds German ß, Norwegian æ, French œ, Romanian ș/ț, and Cyrillic ё/й); CJK titles are matched as-is.
- The Genres page and album browse genre filter list the full catalog on large libraries when All libraries is selected.
Theme contributors credited in Settings
By @Psychotoxical, PR #1248
- Settings → System → Contributors now lists community theme authors in a Themes sub-section alongside the App contributors, pulled from the theme store so it stays current as new themes are published.
- The theme card What's new now shows just the latest version's notes instead of the full version history.
- Theme author names refresh quietly from the store in the background instead of staying stale for up to 12 hours.

Theme store — version numbers and an animated/static filter
By @Psychotoxical, PR #1104
- Theme versions now show in the store (next to the author) and under each installed community theme; when an update is available, the store shows the installed → available version.
- New store filter to show only animated themes or only static ones, next to the existing mode and sort controls.
Playlist folders
By @Psychotoxical, PR #1119, suggested by @SilverWolf24
- Organise your playlists into folders on the Playlists page and in the sidebar — create folders, drag playlists into them (or use the right-click "Move to folder" menu), rename, collapse and switch between the folder view and a single flat list. Folders are saved locally on this device only, since the Subsonic API has no folder support.
AutoDJ — content-aware crossfade
By @cucadmuh, PR #1122 and @Psychotoxical, PR #1124
- New AutoDJ crossfade mode. Instead of a fixed crossfade time, it blends what you actually hear: it trims the dead silence at the end of one track and the start of the next, and picks the overlap from the music itself — a track that fades out rides its own fade while the next one rises underneath, and two tracks that both start/end loud get a short musical blend instead of an abrupt cut. Works most reliably with the Hot playback cache enabled, since the next track's audio needs to be ready for the blend.
- AutoDJ is now its own mode rather than a sub-option of Crossfade — its own button in the queue toolbar and its own entry in the audio settings. Crossfade, AutoDJ and Gapless are mutually exclusive (only one active at a time) under a single Off / Gapless / Crossfade / AutoDJ picker, the playback settings are regrouped into clearer Normalization / Track transitions / Queue behaviour panels, and the queue toolbar's separate Save and Load playlist buttons are combined into one Playlist menu (existing toolbar layouts are preserved). Off by default; classic Crossfade is unchanged.
AutoDJ — smooth skip and interrupt blend
By @cucadmuh, PR #1128
- New Smooth skip toggle under Settings → Audio → Track transitions (on by default when AutoDJ is active). Manual Next/Previous and picking a track from the library, an album, or the infinite queue crossfade from where you are listening instead of hard-cutting.
- Loud→loud queue advances use a consistent ~2s musical blend; manual skips cap at the same length so quiet intros are not drowned out.
- When the target track is not buffered yet, the player briefly ducks the outgoing track while preloading; the player bar keeps showing the current song until the handoff so titles and artwork do not flicker or pause spuriously.
- During an active blend, the play/pause button shows a pulsing Blend icon.
Play queue sync — cross-device handoff
By @cucadmuh, PR #1131, closes #1129
- Manual pull from the header connection indicator (LED + sync ring): click to fetch the active server's play queue when it differs from the local player; no-op when already in sync. Yellow LED when browse server ≠ playback server (e.g. after switching servers).
- Idle auto-pull when paused/stopped for 30+ seconds on a single-server queue (active = playback): polls every 10s and applies server changes.
- Push now sends only tracks owned by the playback server (fixes mixed-server queues). Switching browse servers flushes the old server's queue slice without auto-pull.
Japanese and Hungarian translations
