Major features

Metrics and capture
- PSO compilation metrics: Track D3D12 pipeline state object compilation via ETW (count, duration, and busy percentage), attributed into frame/CSV capture.
- OS DDI flip events: Track newer OS DDI events for per-flip timestamps and completed/dropped flip reporting.
- CSV display attribution: CSV output includes source ID and layer ID for flips so multi-plane and multi-display scenarios are easier to analyze.
- Display metadata: Additional display metadata is surfaced in capture/output paths.

Telemetry architecture
- Fine-grained telemetry providers: Per-metric provider granularity so only required endpoints are polled; supports combining providers and plug-in-style extension.
- Native telemetry format: ADL, NVAPI/NVML, IGCL, and WMI paths emit the dynamic caps/polling model directly; legacy telemetry shims removed.
- CPU temperature (UCI socwatch): Optional UCI socwatch integration in the service for CPU temperature where MSR-style access is restricted; builds and runs when UCI is not present.
- ADL memory utilization: AMD dedicated VRAM usage reporting improved and validated against Windows-reported values.

Intel PresentMon (IPM) UI
- Per-metric multi-device selection: Telemetry from multiple adapters can be shown at once; overlay presets can mix devices per metric.
- Game Experience preset: Overlay preset highlighting metrics that correlate with perceived motion and animation quality.
- Metric availability feedback: Unavailable telemetry metrics stay visible in pickers and overlay loadouts (dimmed/marked) instead of disappearing silently. Hovering over unavailable metrics shows reason why not available. This information can also be dumped to CSV via the presentmon-cli dump-caps subcommand.
- Array metrics: array metrics (multiple fans on 1 GPU etc.) now surface as a single metric with separate index dropdown, instead of multiple independent metrics.

Performance and reliability

Service efficiency
- Lower scheduling overhead: ETW flush and related loops use coarser Sleep-based waiting instead of high-precision timers where jitter is acceptable, cutting CPU use under load by 78% (including on mobile-class systems).
- Idle log flushing: Diagnostic log flushing is suppressed when the service is not actively tracking or polling telemetry, reducing idle CPU from 0.003% to 0.000%.
- Targeted telemetry polling: Continued refinement so providers poll only metrics clients actually consume.

Stability and targeting
- Autotargeting: Fixed failures when GPU top polling errors aborted the loop early, and a race when the target app starts as a console process before its 3D window appears.
- Service restart: Fixed service failing to restart while a client session still holds shared-memory objects.
- Concurrent launches: Second IPM instance is blocked cleanly instead of opening a broken empty window.
- Loader / internal API compatibility: Private API signature changes no longer break the loader; missing or misaligned internal endpoints are non-fatal.

API and integration
- NVIDIA custom flip manifest: NVIDIA custom flip ETW manifest is deployed with the service so decoding works on clean dev machines without a global manifest install.
- Integrated GPU ordering: Integrated Intel/AMD GPUs are detected reliably and sorted below discrete GPUs in device lists.
- Availability Feedback: introspection now surfaces more detailed reasons why a metric is not available (not available on this device vs. not present at all in the source API vs. PresentMon doesn't support it in this build).

UI and usability
- Version in UI: Installed PresentMon version (or build identity for custom/nightly builds) is shown in the capture application UI.

Removals
- Flash Injector removed: Experimental Flash Injector DLL/EXE, client hooks, build scripting, and UI have been removed to simplify the solution and builds.

Dependencies and infrastructure
- CEF version locking: Checked-in lock file plus upgrade-cef / pull-cef

2.3.1.0 10 de juny del 2025 — 64 bits Portable
Notes de la versió
New Features
- Introduced three new FPS overlay indicators to provide a clearer picture of frame delivery behavior, especially in scenarios involving frame generation. FPS-Presents measures how often frames are presented to the GPU, while FPS-Display captures the rate at which frames are actually shown on screen. FPS-App typically matches FPS-Presents except in frame generation scenarios.
- Added the following GPU telemetry metrics (currently supported by Intel Arc Battlemage GPUs):
- GPU Effective Frequency
- GPU Voltage Regulator Temperature
- GPU Memory Effective Bandwidth
- GPU Overvoltage Percent
- GPU Temperature Percent
- GPU Power Percent
- GPU Fan Speed Percent
- GPU Card Power (total board power)
- Reintroduced support for several timing metrics in the CSV, including MsBetweenPresents, MsBetweenDisplayChange, MsInPresent, MsRenderPresentLatency, and MsUntilDisplayed. MsBetweenSimulationStart and MsPCLatency are also included in the schema but are currently disabled until underlying event support is enabled.
- Added CLI option to disable overlay alpha blending (reduces overlay impact on target present timing seen in some circumstances)
- Added support to PresentMon console application for detection of Hybrid Presents
- Increased default PresentMon circular buffer size to 2048 to be able to handle higher FPS applications. In addition added a command line parameter to be able to manually configure buffer size.
- Stabilized binary version compatibility of PresentMon API by deploying PresentMonAPI.dll side-by-side with the service and moving to a dynamic loading model
- Added Loader .dll + static import .lib to facilitate discovery and endpoint resolution of the PresentMon API
- Added ETL trimmer utility for trimming ETL files to a timestamp range and pruning unnecessary event types (source only, currently no binary distribution provided)

Experimental
- Added ability to inject executable code into the target process to cause a flash to be drawn in-game whenever the mouse is clicked (intended for use in conjunction with specialized optical measuring instruments)

Bug Fixes
- Re-engineered multi-process architecture to enable PresentMon to be run without Administrator privileges
- Improved security by ensuring that Chromium UI frontend runs at lowered integrity even when PresentMon is run elevated
- Upgraded frontend from Vue.js 2 (past end-of-life and unsupported) & Vuex => Vue.js 3 & Pinia

2.0.0.0 3 d’abril del 2024 — 64 bits Portable32 bits Portable
Notes de la versió
New Features
- The majority of metrics are changed to use the time that the CPU started working on a frame as the reference point instead of the present() call, with values that are more aligned to measuring the quality of graphics applications (e.g., latency and duration of interaction and displayed frames). See README-ConsoleApplication.md for more details.
- Processes with unknown name are now reported as <unknown> instead of <error>.
- Capture application CSV now reports NA (Not Available) in columns for unavailable metrics instead of 0.
- Overlay / Capture application now hides any metrics that are not available on the system.
- Added explicit 1%, 5%, and 10% percentile statistics (to the existing 99%, 95%, and 90%). Previously, selecting 99%ile for metrics where a lower value is better (such as frame time) would automatically convert to the 1%ile statistic. Now, no context-dependent conversion is done and whatever statistic the user selects is displayed.
- Added a non-zero average statistic which only averages non-zero data points. This is useful for metrics where zero denotes "no data" rather than a zero value (such as the click-to-photon latency metric).
- Added histogram plots.
- Client APIs:
- New Dynamic query composition API: clients now specify which metrics/stats they are using, and only the necessary data processing is performed. This replaces the previous behavior where all metric combinations were calculated on each polling call, regardless of whether they were necessary.
- New Introspection API: clients can now enumerate metrics at runtime to populate UIs with options, names, and descriptions. Also enables clients to be forward-compatible with newer service builds exposing new metrics.
- PresentData: changed PresentStopTime to TimeInPresent where PresentStopTime = TimInPresent == 0 ? 0 : PresentStartTime + TimeInPresent

Bug Fixes
- Fixed crash caused by resetting preferences
- Fixed graph rendering errors when sampling rate was high and/or graph contained many data plots
- Disallow editing for built-in loadout presets
- Fixed issue where autoscaling settings was affecting the wrong graph
- Fixed issue where independent data display window would repeatedly appear above the control UI making it difficult to interact with the application
- Fixed overlay UI misalignment in readout widgets caused by very small values
- Loadout files are now saved with .json file extension by default
