Notes de la versió
League of Legends is now part of OmniGet itself — no plugin to install. Plus download rules, deduplication, and a queue that survives a crash.
League — native, not a plugin
Champ select, on your terms. Auto accept with a delay you choose instead of instantly. Auto pick that either declares only, locks immediately, or locks at the last second. A ban guard that will not take a champion an ally already called, and the option to delay a ban. ARAM reroll that keeps the champion you already have.
Read the lobby before the game starts. Premades are grouped by the party id the game itself reports, not guessed. Players you have noted before are flagged, and so are five-stacks with hidden profiles. Player ratings wait for a minimum number of games before judging — three matches do not become a verdict.
In game and after. Objective timers with an estimate of what each one is worth. A build reference with ability order and items by phase. Match history filtered by queue, with a summary of the filter. A notification when a match is found and the window is not focused. Restart the client interface without losing your place in queue. Custom icon, profile background and status. Role preference in the lobby.
Features that are unavailable now say why, instead of silently doing nothing.
Client detection falls back to the lockfile when reading the command line fails — one less "client not detected".
Downloads
Rules. Say it once: links from this channel go to this folder, in this quality. Conditions are host, "URL contains", or platform; actions are folder, quality and audio-only. The first rule that matches wins, so order is priority and rules can be reordered. A link tester shows which rule catches a URL before you find out on a wrong download. Rules never override a choice made in the session — they only fill in what was left alone.
Point yt-dlp, FFmpeg or PDFium at your own binary. The file is referenced in place, never copied, so updating your own copy takes effect immediately. Previously only PDFium accepted a custom file, and it made a copy that then aged silently. "Use the managed one again" is in the same menu.
Threads. threads.net and threads.com — single posts, images, carousels and shared posts, through a native extractor, since yt-dlp still has none. Thanks @ManoloZocco.
The queue survives a crash. It used to rewrite the whole queue file on every change, so a crash mid-write could take the entire queue. Each change now appends one record and is flushed on its own, so a crash can damage at most the last one. Verified with a real SIGKILL mid-write: 202 records intact, exactly 1 truncated. An existing queue is migrated automatically, keeping its order.
Deduplicate downloads. The same file in two places stops occupying space twice. It runs after downloading, never during — saving disk space is not worth touching the file you just waited for.
A changed video is reported before it overwrites the old one. Re-edited, re-uploaded or censored: you hear about it at the only moment the warning is still useful.
Silence map. One FFmpeg pass finds the silent stretches of a lecture and remembers them.
Torrents: when can you actually press play? "50% downloaded" does not mean watchable, because torrents fetch the rarest pieces first. OmniGet now answers whether enough of the playhead is on disk. Piece ordering stays with the torrent engine, which already does it well.
Fixes
Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux. The shortcut label was hardcoded to the macOS key everywhere. On Windows and Linux that key does not exist, so the hint could not be acted on at all — the shortcut itself always accepted both.
Window buttons no longer collide with the app's own. The title bar reserved 78px for macOS window controls on every platform, and placed the app's buttons exactly where Windows and Linux draw minimise/maximise/close.
The command-line binary ships again. omniget-cli is attached to this release for Linux, Windows, and both macOS architectures. It failed to build in

Notes de la versió
Seven features that were written, tested and unreachable now have a path from the app to them. Plus a portable-mode leak that turned out to affect Linux too, and a settings section that showed Portuguese to everyone.
Features that finally reached the UI
Twelve modules had shipped as tested logic with no Tauri command and no call site outside core/ — code that existed but nothing could invoke. Seven are now wired.
Failed downloads explain themselves. A failure in the queue is translated into a cause and one action: import cookies, retry, update yt-dlp, free disk space. Instead of a raw yt-dlp stderr line, you get the thing to click.
yt-dlp retries as a real browser when a site blocks by TLS fingerprint. Some sites reject the request before any of the player-client switching matters. On that specific failure, the retry now uses --impersonate with a target the bundled binary actually supports.
PO token provider support. If you run a bgutil provider, set OMNIGET_POT_PROVIDER_URL and it will be used when YouTube demands a PO token. The provider is probed first — a configured but dead address would otherwise cost a timeout on every download, which is worse than having no provider at all. It is an environment variable rather than a settings field because it is an external service almost nobody runs, and a new settings field costs a migration for everyone.
A bad yt-dlp update can be undone. Updating yt-dlp now archives the previous binary before overwriting it, keeping the last three. If a new version breaks a site, Settings → Dependencies → ... lists the earlier ones and rolls back — no internet required.
Segment concurrency adapts per host. The number in Settings becomes a ceiling instead of a fixed value. A CDN that throttles at 8 connections delivers more at 4, and only measurement tells you which case a host is. With no history, behaviour is identical to before.
Diagnostic reports now include what actually happened. The debug panel's "Copy report" carries a redacted trace of the last download log lines — no tokens, no cookies, no paths with your username. This is what was missing when someone says "it stopped working" and the report only showed the final result.
Batch downloads are checked before queueing. Paste 40 links and the unsupported and repeated ones are skipped up front, with a count, instead of being queued and failing one at a time. If nothing in the list is supported, it stops and says so.
Accessibility preferences. Reduce motion and reduce transparency, in Settings → Appearance.
Fixes
Portable mode was leaving a folder in your user profile on Linux. This is the same bug as the Windows one fixed in 0.7.7 — nobody had noticed it applied elsewhere. The WebView redirect was behind a Windows-only compile flag, but Tauri's data_directory has no such restriction and on Linux it drives WebKitGTK's data, cache and cookie paths. It was found by the new startup test on its first run, not by a report.
macOS is still not covered — wry does not read data_directory on WKWebView, so the mechanism used on the other two platforms does not exist there. Tracked in #227 rather than left implicit.
The browser extension section of Settings was never translated (#222). It showed Portuguese regardless of your language, including the three install hints, which arrived already-translated from the backend — where the UI language is not knowable. The backend now returns a key and the frontend translates it. Ten locales.
The dependency row menu was clipped by the table (#222). The ... menu is positioned below its row, and on the last row — the PDFium one — it fell outside a container with overflow: hidden. The "point at a local file" option was rendered but unreachable. Thanks @PaduaPlay for the screenshot that made both of these findable.
Bundled WebView2 runtime is now detected (#218). Unpack a WebView2 Fixed Version Runtime next to omniget.exe and it is used, so the app runs on Windows machines without WebView2 installed. The folder is only ac

Security release. Everyone should update.
Security
Arbitrary code execution via aria2c — CVE-2026-50574. OmniGet was passing fragmented manifests (HLS and DASH) to aria2c, which is the exact vector yt-dlp patched in 2026.06.09. On Windows this can lead to immediate arbitrary code execution; on other platforms on the next yt-dlp invocation. The external downloader is now scoped to plain http and ftp, and fragments go through the native downloader with -N.
TLS certificate verification is on by default. Every download, metadata fetch and search was running with certificate checking disabled. It is now verified. If you are behind a corporate proxy that intercepts TLS and downloads start failing, set advanced.insecure_tls to true in settings.json.
Every managed binary is verified before it runs. yt-dlp, FFmpeg, Deno, gallery-dl and aria2c are now checked against a published SHA-256 and refused on mismatch. Previously only yt-dlp was checked, and even that installed unverified when the checksum file could not be fetched. Moving the parser exposed a latent bug where a single blank line in the checksum file aborted verification entirely.
yt-dlp version floor. Settings → Dependencies flags a yt-dlp older than 2026.06.09 as Outdated, because those builds carry CVE-2026-50019, CVE-2026-50023 and CVE-2026-50574. A version string that cannot be parsed is deliberately not reported as outdated.
Fixes
The YouTube rate-limit throttle never worked. -N and --concurrent-fragments are the same yt-dlp option and both were being sent; the second won. The back-off that should kick in after a 429 had no effect on any install using the default settings. Downloads from a rate-limited account will now correctly slow down.
Corrupted state files no longer erase themselves. The cookie registry, yt-dlp templates and per-plugin settings all did read-default-then-write, so one unreadable file was silently replaced with empty defaults and then saved over the original. They are now moved aside as <name>.corrupt-<timestamp> and the content stays recoverable.
A corrupted channel history no longer re-downloads the whole channel. An unreadable seen-list used to read as "nothing seen", which meant every archived video looked new.
Global hotkey Ctrl+Shift+D — fixed and now gives feedback (#198). It returned silently in every failure path, and its success event had no listener, so nothing happened visibly whether it worked or not. All five outcomes now show a toast.
macOS: the window can be dragged again (#198). The title bar used -webkit-app-region, a Chromium property WKWebView ignores.
macOS: the hotkey recorder captures keys again (#198). It sat on "Press keys…" forever because macOS WebKit does not focus a button on click. Escape now cancels recording.
Improvements
Batch downloads can choose a mode. Paste a list of links and pick Auto, Audio Only or No Sound before starting — useful for YouTube Music links. Thanks @Crayz129 (#182).
Documentation
The Linux install instructions were wrong. All three READMEs told you to run flatpak install wtf.tonho.omniget. There is no Flathub package and the build never produced a Flatpak. The install table now lists what actually ships, with the libfuse2 note for Debian 12+ and Ubuntu 24.04+.
Also: a winget install line, a comparison section explaining where OmniGet sits next to yt-dlp, documentation for the omniget-cli binary (marked build-it-yourself, since it is not in these downloads — see #202), bulk subreddit and profile downloads described the way people search for them, and a larger FAQ. The Chinese and Russian READMEs were rewritten with native phrasing rather than translated English.
The Flatpak AppStream metainfo had stopped at 0.6.4, so Linux software centres were showing release notes eight versions old. Every 0.7.x release is now listed. A root llms.txt was added for AI crawlers.

OmniGet 0.7.2
Bug-fix release focused on plugin stability, download reliability, course platforms, and the browser extension.
> If OmniGet was crashing when you opened Courses, Telegram or Convert, this release fixes it.
> The desktop app and its plugins are compiled Rust libraries, and Rust does not guarantee binary
> compatibility between compiler versions. Our builds did not pin a compiler version, so the app and
> the plugins drifted onto different ones and the app crashed the moment a plugin was called.
> The app now refuses to load an incompatible plugin (with a message telling you to update it)
> instead of crashing, the compiler version is pinned everywhere, and all plugins have been rebuilt.
> Please also update your plugins from the Marketplace after installing this version.
Plugins
- Fixed the crash (SIGSEGV) when opening any plugin page — see the note above (also the likely cause of the plugin crashes reported in #159)
- Incompatible plugins are now rejected with a clear "update this plugin" message instead of taking the app down
- Plugins carry their compiler fingerprint so a mismatch can never silently pass again
Downloads
- Progress bars work again: a yt-dlp flag interaction silently suppressed all progress output — downloads no longer sit at 0% until completion (#144)
- Real output-path capture from yt-dlp (no more empty-folder "successes" from path guessing) (#167)
- Direct .m3u8 links no longer fail with 403 on referer-checked CDNs, and HLS downloads now show real segment progress (#144)
- aria2c progress is parsed again
Platforms
- Bilibili: Cheese (课堂) episode links no longer get mangled into broken YouTube URLs and download correctly with your account (#157); pasting episode N of a collection no longer downloads episode 1 (#146); playlists that fail every item now report an error instead of success
- Hotmart/Udemy: pasting a course URL now takes you to the Courses page instead of failing through yt-dlp (#169, #160); the Hotmart login window no longer closes itself before you finish logging in (#168)
- Reddit/Twitter bulk downloads: subreddit, Reddit user, and X/Twitter profile URLs are now downloaded in bulk via gallery-dl (#150)
- Udemy plugin now downloads supplementary files and course resources (thanks @adityash4rma)
Plugins (continued)
- Installed plugins load instantly at startup, before any network calls — no more permanent "restart required" on slow/blocked networks (#153)
- Telegram QR login shows a clear error instead of an infinite spinner when Telegram is unreachable (#162, partial — MTProto proxy support still planned)
- Plugin loading hardened: panics and init failures no longer take the app down (#159)
Browser extension
- Pairing now gives feedback ("Extension connected"), pairs instantly from the options page, and recovers from stale tokens (#166)
- Firefox: error pages no longer show Chrome-specific wording and the settings button works (thanks @D0n-A)
- Step-by-step install & pairing guide added to the extension README
UI & Linux
- Toggles are visible in light themes again (#164)
- The URL/Batch tab bar no longer disappears after cancelling the file picker (#151)
- Linux: thumbnail loading fixed (asset-protocol scope didn't match paths under ~/.local) and crash amplifiers removed (#159, partial — a remaining image-decode crash is an upstream webkit2gtk 2.52 bug on Arch)
Localization
- Extensive Russian locale overhaul: spelling, missing strings, number-agnostic counts, download-vs-upload disambiguation, and a Russian locale for the Firefox extension (thanks @D0n-A)
Docs & misc
- New Plugin Development Guide (#170)
- Portable mode documented and completed — portable.txt next to the exe keeps everything in the app folder, including plugin caches (#161)
- Portable mode: settings are now actually stored in the portable data folder (they silently went to the OS profile before); existing settings are adopted automatically on first launch
- Twitter: imported account cookies again take precedence

Plugins
- Installed plugins load instantly at startup, before any network calls — no more permanent "restart required" on slow/blocked networks (#153)
- Telegram QR login shows a clear error instead of an infinite spinner when Telegram is unreachable (#162, partial — MTProto proxy support still planned)
- Plugin loading hardened: panics and init failures no longer crash the app (#159)
- Twitter: imported account cookies again take precedence over a manually-set cookie header
- New omniget-cli (info / download / batch / import-cookies) and platform downloaders moved to a shared core crate (#163, thanks @gkd2323c)

Notes de la versió
Downloads
Windows: .exe installer or portable.
macOS: .dmg (Apple Silicon aarch64 or Intel x86_64).
