Notes de la versió
We're pleased to announce the release of MuteMe version 0.28.3. This is a major release featuring smarter resource usage with significantly reduced RAM and background CPU usage, a major overhaul of the Microsoft Teams and Zoom controllers, and fixes for Microsoft Teams on macOS and Discord synchronization on both Windows and macOS.
#423 – Lazy-Loaded Audio Helpers with Adaptive Idle Shutdown
Helper processes are now loaded only when they are actually needed, and they shut themselves down automatically after periods of inactivity. This applies across the board: audio helpers on macOS and Windows, microphone-in-use detection, and all of your conference app controllers (Zoom, Teams, WebEx, Discord, OBS, FaceTime, GoToMeeting, and Amazon Chime). This significantly reduces memory usage and background CPU consumption when the helpers aren't needed. We've also added safeguards to make sure your microphone never gets stuck muted when helpers restart or shut down.
#424 – Microsoft Teams on macOS – Mute Stops Working Until Restart
Fixed an issue where the Microsoft Teams controller on macOS could stop responding to mute/unmute commands until the app was restarted. The controller now recovers automatically if it loses its connection during extended use, keeping mute state accurate throughout long meetings and across meetings.
#427 – Teams & Zoom Controller Overhaul – Windows & macOS
We've significantly reworked the Microsoft Teams and Zoom controllers on both platforms. On macOS, the Teams controller was substantially rewritten for more accurate meeting detection, and a looping issue was fixed where mute state could ping-pong between the app and Teams. On Windows, both the Teams and Zoom controllers received a new centralized state policy and status callback system for more reliable mute synchronization, along with improved performance and better handling of window states. The macOS Teams and Zoom controllers now also renew their accessibility connections periodically, keeping the connection healthy during long meetings so mute control never silently stops working.
#426 – Discord Synchronization Fixes – Windows & macOS
Reworked the Windows Discord controller with improved state handling to fix synchronization issues between your MuteMe device and Discord, including more reliable mute state detection and recovery when Discord's window state changes. We also fixed minor Discord synchronization issues on macOS, with improvements to the native controller's state handling and reliability.
#425 – Device Controller Runner Process Improvements
Device controller runner processes were reworked for better reliability and memory reporting. Hardware processes now start only when a MuteMe device is connected and shut down automatically when it's disconnected — with one device connected, the app runs two hardware processes instead of eight.
#428 – Smaller Downloads
Test files are no longer included in packaged builds, making the app download slightly smaller.

0.27.6 5 de juliol del 2026 — 64 bits MSI64 bits EXE
Notes de la versió
We're pleased to announce the release of MuteMe version 0.27.6. This release includes critical memory leak fixes across native controllers, improved Microsoft Teams meeting hold detection, device connection stability improvements, and enhanced OBS Studio documentation.
#403 – Native Controller Memory Leak Fixes
We conducted a comprehensive investigation and added memory leak detection across multiple native controllers on macOS and Windows. This work included adding a new memory monitoring service with debugging capabilities, stress test tooling, and debug state inspection for all platform controllers. The fixes span macOS FaceTime, GoToMeeting, Teams, Zoom, and Mic-In-Use controllers, as well as Windows Discord, Teams, Zoom, and WebEx controllers. This continues the work we were doing with version 0.27.2
#401 – Zoom Controller Memory Leak Fix
Fixed a memory leak in the macOS Zoom controller that could cause unbounded memory growth during extended Zoom sessions. The fix addresses improper memory management calls weren't being properly released.
#396 – Microsoft Teams Meeting Hold/Park Detection
Fixed an issue where Microsoft Teams on both macOS and Windows would incorrectly latch onto a meeting that had been placed on hold. When a meeting is parked, Teams keeps the mute button enabled, which caused MuteMe to continue controlling the held meeting instead of the active one. We've added logic to detect "resume-button" and "hold-timer" UI elements that Teams displays when a meeting is on hold, and the controller now properly skips held meetings and continues scanning for the active meeting window. This continues our migration work away from the Microsoft Teams API which we started in version 0.27.2
#407 – Device Connection Stability Improvements
Fixed a bug in the device reconcile logic that could cause LED flickering every 5 seconds on Windows. The previous implementation would trigger a reconnect when certain conditions were met. The reconcile now only triggers when a supported device is present but not connected, and it never tears down a healthy connection. This also eliminates a race condition with the HID write path that could cause device controller crashes also causing it to appear like the device was restarting.
#405 – OBS Studio Support Documentation
Added comprehensive OBS Studio support documentation covering setup instructions for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The guide includes step-by-step WebSocket API configuration, troubleshooting tips, and security notes explaining why localhost connections don't require firewall changes. Also added an in-app configuration dialog that prompts users to enable OBS WebSocket when they first connect.
#408 – Amazon Chime Deprecation
Amazon Chime meetings and Business Calling services have been officially discontinued by AWS. MuteMe has removed Amazon Chime support. Users are encouraged to migrate to supported platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet.
#409 – Windows Build Improvements
Updated the Windows code signing certificate and improved the Electron Forge configuration to make signing faster and more reliable. This make the app a bit lighter for downloads but has no real user impacts.

Update your software today to enjoy these improvements!
0.27.2 29 de juny del 2026 — 64 bits MSI64 bits EXE
Notes de la versió
We're pleased to announce the release of MuteMe version 0.27.2. This release introduces OBS Studio integration, FaceTime support, a standalone Copilot hotkey, and critical stability improvements across WebEx, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.
#396 – Microsoft Teams Updates
Microsoft has been phasing out the legacy Teams API that MuteMe relied on for synchronization. We've completely re-engineered the Teams controller to use native UI automation instead, ensuring MuteMe continues to work reliably with the latest Teams versions. This update also brings improved support for Free and Legacy Microsoft Teams versions, along with foundational work for upcoming hardware releases.
#403 – WebEx Stability Fixes
Users on both macOS and Windows were experiencing a severe memory leak when using WebEx, which would cause MuteMe's memory usage to grow unboundedly over time and eventually impact system performance. We've resolved both the sync issues and the memory leak to ensure a smoother and more stable WebEx meeting experience.
#401 – Zoom Controller Memory Leak Fix
Similar to WebEx, the Zoom controller on macOS had a memory leak that could gradually consume system resources during extended Zoom sessions. This fix targets the root cause in the Zoom controller's event handling and resource management, ensuring stable performance over time.
#400 – macOS Microphone Detection
macOS Voice 2 Text and dictation features weren't triggering microphone-in-use detection because Apple's system dictation uses a different audio path than traditional apps—it registers as a process-level audio client rather than opening a standard IOProc on the hardware device. We've updated the mic-in-use monitoring to use process-level APIs in addition to device-level checks, so dictation is now properly detected. .
#405 – OBS Studio Integration
We've added dedicated OBS Studio integration across macOS, Windows, and Linux using OBS WebSocket 5.x protocol. You can now monitor your OBS mute state, control recording and streaming, and manage scene switching directly from the MuteMe client—perfect for content creators who need seamless audio control during live streams.
#390 – FaceTime Support
MuteMe now works with FaceTime calls on macOS. The controller uses macOS Accessibility APIs to detect the FaceTime window and monitor mute state through the menu bar item checkmark. We've also laid the groundwork for upcoming hardware releases with improved controller architecture.
#406 – Standalone Copilot Hotkey
Added a standalone global hotkey feature to trigger Microsoft Copilot outside of meetings. Whether you're working on a document, browsing the web, or just need quick AI assistance, you can now access Copilot instantly with a single key combination—no need to switch windows or interrupt your workflow.
#395 – Improved Auto-Updater Stability
When software updates failed, the previous implementation would fail silently, leaving users unaware that their update hadn't completed successfully. We've improved the update mechanism to fail gracefully and display clear user-facing messages when something goes wrong, so you're never left wondering what happened during the update process.
#394 – MuteSync Firmware Compatibility
MuteSync devices weren't being recognized properly on Windows due to an incorrect firmware revision number being reported. This prevented correct device reporting. We've fixed the firmware revision detection so MuteSync devices now connect reliably.
#398 – Screenshot Fix for Minimized Windows
The "Not In Meeting" screenshot action wasn't working sometimes. We've updated the screenshot logic to work better.
#371 – Skype Deprecation
Microsoft has deprecated Skype and our usage data shows the user base has declined significantly. We're officially dropping support for Skype to focus our development efforts on the platforms our users rely on most. We encourage Skype users to migrate to supported platforms like Microsoft Zoom/Teams.
#364 – Enhanced Feedback System

0.25.9 6 de gener del 2026 — 64 bits EXE64 bits MSI
Notes de la versió
We’re pleased to announce MuteMe version 0.25.9, a focused maintenance release that addresses several bugs and reliability issues, particularly around app shutdown behavior and firmware updates on both macOS and Windows. This release also includes updates required to keep pace with recently deprecated system APIs.
#381 – Fixed: App Fails to Quit When Status Bar Is Active
Resolved an issue where the app would not fully quit if the status bar component was active. The shutdown logic could be blocked by an in progress operation, preventing a clean exit. This has now been corrected on both macOS and Windows..
#382 – Improved: Firmware Downloads via Electron Fetch
Firmware updates previously relied on direct CDN downloads via Shopify, which could fail in certain environments, especially behind corporate proxies or systems with custom certificate authorities.
Firmware downloads now use Electron’s built in fetch handler, which provides improved support for local certificates and enterprise network configurations. This significantly improves firmware update reliability on both macOS and Windows.
#383 – Fixed: Windows Firmware Update Failures Due to WMIC Deprecation
Firmware updates on Windows were failing due to reliance on WMIC, which was officially deprecated by Microsoft in November 2025.
The app now uses PowerShell based commands instead, restoring firmware update functionality and ensuring forward compatibility with current and future Windows releases.
#338 – Fixed: Corrupted macOS App Icons
Addressed an issue where macOS app icons could appear corrupted or damaged. The underlying ICNS file has been rebuilt and replaced, resolving the issue seen in the wild across multiple macOS versions.
