Notes de la versió
What's Changed
Motrix Next 3.9.9 brings the improvements from the 3.9.9 beta cycle to the stable channel, with Aria2 Next 2.7.5, more resilient HTTP transfers, consistent task history, smoother task cards, and more reliable desktop integration.
🛠 Improvements
- HTTP transfer recovery — Improved parallel-download concurrency recovery, redirect destination reuse, IPv4/IPv6 worker scheduling, and stalled-tail recovery while respecting connection limits and retry backoff
- Consistent task lists — Unified live-task and history sorting, snapshots, and sidebar counts; removed the 1,000-entry limit from active and waiting task snapshots
- Smoother task cards — Added filename and status transitions, refined progress and action animations, and preserved card identity and manual ordering when retrying tasks
- Compact layout — Stabilized progress-bar width with a fixed percentage gap and right-aligned transfer details, keeping the two-line layout and revealing truncated details through tooltips
- Actionable diagnostics — Added browser-launcher registration details, native OS errors, and Linux protocol-handler information to diagnostic exports
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Fixed HTTP scheduling defects that unnecessarily reduced parallelism after early 403 responses or mishandled 429/503 overload responses
- Fixed false resource-change failures involving unquoted ETags and inconsistent CDN timestamps, including the reported Baidu Netdisk case; improved conditional range handling at redirecting endpoints
- Fixed a Windows engine event-loop crash and preserved pending wakeups when libcurl reschedules timers
- Fixed tasks briefly disappearing between engine completion and history persistence, suppressed stale duplicate BT/ED2K results, and preserved partial progress and error details in newly recorded history
- Fixed one browser's Native Messaging registration failure blocking registration for other browsers
- Prevented browser-inherited EGL_PLATFORM settings from interfering with Linux desktop activation
- Reworked Linux link associations around native GIO/XDG handling, including desktop-specific defaults and persistent AppImage paths; failed status queries now offer retry instead of appearing disabled
- Fixed saved window decorations overriding platform settings and hiding macOS traffic-light controls (#587)
- Fixed compact progress bars changing length as transfer metadata updates (#589)
3.9.8 7 de setembre del 2026 — 64 bits EXE (NSIS)ARM64 EXE (NSIS)
Notes de la versió
Important
Engine transition: This release replaces the legacy transfer backends and resume formats. Finish important in-progress downloads before upgrading from v3.9.7; legacy .aria2 control files and old engine resume state are not imported. If incompatible session state prevents startup, Reset Engine State clears unfinished-task session data while retaining downloaded files, preferences, and download history. FTP support has been removed; SFTP remains supported.
What's Changed
Motrix Next 3.9.8 brings the complete 3.9.8 beta series to stable. It upgrades the bundled engine from Aria2 Next 2.5.5 to 2.7.1, replaces the legacy BitTorrent and stream-transfer implementations with libtorrent and libcurl, adds tab-free browser activation, and reworks task recovery, file selection, sharing controls, localization, and database recovery. All six desktop builds include the updated engine and browser launcher.
✨ New Features
- Browser-to-desktop activation — Chrome, Edge, and desktop Firefox can launch or activate Motrix Next without opening an intermediate browser tab. The bundled Native Messaging launcher accepts only an allowlisted activate request, opens the fixed motrixnext:// protocol, replies, and exits. It does not run as a background service or receive download URLs, cookies, headers, or commands. Downloads continue through the existing authenticated local HTTP API.
- Explicit magnet file selection — Choose Download All, Open File Selector, or Select Manually for newly added magnet tasks. Automatic selection prompts are the default. Changing this preference leaves existing tasks unchanged. Torrent metadata inspection and file selection now use the engine's native interfaces.
- Unified sharing controls — Pause, resume, or finish BitTorrent seeding and ED2K sharing, including a confirmed bulk action to finish all eligible sharing tasks. Seeding and sharing durations remain available in task details without continuously ticking on task cards.
- Engine recovery workflow — A centralized supervisor coordinates startup, readiness checks, bounded retries, restarts, and runtime recovery. The recovery dialog provides failure details, manual retry, cancellation, and an explicit engine-state reset.
- Database recovery without blocking launch — The window opens before database initialization. If the database is damaged or unavailable, the app remains accessible and offers Reset and Restart or Not Now. Reset is also available in settings; it clears download history and saved website credentials while preserving downloaded files and preferences. Initialization failures never delete the database automatically.
🛠 Improvements
- Rebuilt BitTorrent core — Aria2 Next 2.7.1 uses libtorrent 2.1.1 for peer communication, piece scheduling, disk I/O, trackers, DHT, TCP/uTP, encryption, file priorities, and fast resume. Magnets retain one task ID through metadata retrieval, selection, downloading, and seeding. Native state persistence restores paused progress and DHT routing data, and private torrents are isolated from global tracker injection.
- Rebuilt HTTP and SFTP transport — libcurl 8.21.0 and nghttp2 handle stream transfers, HTTP/2, TLS, cookies, authentication, and proxies. Adaptive byte-range scheduling, bounded connection concurrency, server-directed retry delays, and slow-tail assistance retry unfinished data while preserving completed ranges. Certificate validation uses platform trust integration where supported.
- Managed recovery state — Stream and ED2K state use SQLite-backed persistence, and BitTorrent metadata and resume data have a dedicated state store. Engine-owned recovery data stays in the managed state directory instead of creating adjacent .aria2 files in download folders.
- Clearer task management — Task views are organized as All, In Progress, Failed, and Completed, with consistent sidebar counts. Failed tasks have a dedicated retry action, and retry/redownload handling preserves the options needed to resubmit each task. Batch

3.8.0 21 d’abril del 2026 — 64 bits EXE (NSIS)
Notes de la versió
What's Changed
v3.8.0 introduces the browser extension HTTP API for seamless integration with the companion browser extension, along with critical fixes for the auto-archive file classification system and deep-link handling on all platforms.
✨ New Features
- Browser extension API — New HTTP API server enables the companion browser extension to submit downloads directly to Motrix Next, with user confirmation dialog and localized settings
- Runtime API port reconfiguration — The extension API listen port can be changed at runtime with user confirmation, without requiring app restart
- Pending deep-link queue — Deep links received during frontend window recreation are now queued and replayed, preventing lost downloads on macOS lightweight mode
🛠 Improvements
- Eliminated silent catch blocks — Added mandatory structured logging throughout stores, components, and composables for full production observability
- Config v4 migration — Automatic path separator normalization and empty file-category auto-population for Windows users upgrading from earlier versions
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Fixed file-missing detection after auto-archive — Archived files are now correctly tracked across all UI operations (Open File, Show in Folder, file-missing badge) via a centralized path resolver with cross-session persistence
- Fixed Windows path separator inconsistency — All path comparisons in auto-archive now normalize / vs \ before matching, and move_file returns forward-slash paths consistently
- Fixed magnet link auto-submit — Magnet links no longer bypass the file selection dialog, ensuring correct frontend processing flow
3.7.3 20 d’abril del 2026 — 64 bits EXE (NSIS)
Notes de la versió
What's Changed
This release resolves duplicate download tasks caused by deep-link event duplication across all three platforms, adds browser cookie forwarding for authenticated downloads, and simplifies the extension auto-submit settings.
✨ New Features
- Browser cookie forwarding — The browser extension now extracts cookies from the download context and passes them to aria2 via deep-link parameters. This enables authenticated downloads from sites like Quark Drive, Baidu Pan, and other cookie-gated CDNs.
🛠 Improvements
- Simplified auto-submit settings — Replaced the 5-toggle "Browser Extension" section with a single toggle merged into "Notification & Confirm". Config schema automatically migrates from v2 to v3.
- Refined task completion tracking — Replaced debug traces with explicit completion tracking in the monitor service for more reliable shutdown-on-complete behavior.
- Improved error handling — Downgraded noisy fetchList errors to debug level to reduce log clutter during normal operation.
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Fixed duplicate download tasks from deep-links — A triple-redundant event registration caused the same URL to be processed 2–3 times on all platforms. Unified by scoping macOS on_open_url to #[cfg(target_os = "macos")] and removing the redundant frontend onOpenUrl() listener.
- Fixed .torrent URL auto-submit — Auto-submitting a .torrent URL passed it to addUri(), which downloaded the .torrent file itself instead of parsing its content. Torrent and metalink URLs now always route through the AddTask dialog's fetch→parse→file-select pipeline.
3.7.2 18 d’abril del 2026 — 64 bits EXE (NSIS)
Notes de la versió
What's Changed
This release fixes critical reliability issues in the auto-shutdown feature and unifies all confirmation dialog styling to a consistent NDialog design language.
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Fixed auto-shutdown not re-triggering after cancellation — The shutdown_triggered flag reset was trapped inside its own guard, making it unreachable dead code. Active-download tracking now runs unconditionally so the flag properly resets when new downloads appear
- Fixed BT/magnet downloads bypassing shutdown detection — An early return in the torrent cleanup handler was preventing the shutdown condition check from ever being called
🛠 Improvements
- Unified confirmation dialog styling — Migrated both the exit confirmation and auto-shutdown countdown dialogs from NModal preset="card" to NModal preset="dialog" type="warning", matching the engine restart dialog's visual style (⚠️ icon in title, larger bold title, native action buttons)
- Dual-action shutdown dialog — Two clear choices: "Disable Auto-Shutdown" permanently turns off the setting; "Skip This Time" dismisses the current countdown while keeping the preference enabled for future tasks
- Added i18n keys for shutdown actions — shutdown-disable and shutdown-skip-once localized across all 26 supported languages
3.7.1 17 d’abril del 2026 — 64 bits EXE (NSIS)
Notes de la versió
What's Changed
This release resolves critical issues with lightweight mode and autostart behavior, ensuring the WebView lifecycle is correctly managed across all platforms.
✨ New Features
- Browser extension auto-submit — Downloads initiated from the browser extension can now be automatically submitted without manual confirmation.
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Lightweight mode now works on autostart — When autostart + lightweight mode were both enabled, the WebView process (~300MB RAM) remained alive in the background until the user manually opened and closed the window. The WebView is now correctly destroyed after engine initialization completes. Fixes #209.
- Autostart no longer re-hides recreated windows — Fixed a bug where windows recreated in lightweight mode (e.g. via tray click) were incorrectly hidden again because the autostart flag persisted across the process lifetime. Introduced an irreversible cold-start lifecycle state to resolve the race condition. Fixes #206.
- Improved resource detection — URL and magnet link detection is now case-insensitive and correctly rejects bare protocol prefixes without a host.
3.7.0 16 d’abril del 2026 — 64 bits EXE (NSIS)
Notes de la versió

- Task Detail Dates — Shows "Added At" and "Completed At" timestamps in the task detail panel with locale-aware formatting across all 26 languages (#198)
- Structured BT History Metadata — BT/magnet tasks now persist full file lists and announce lists as JSON in history records, enabling correct multi-file deletion and folder-opening from the history view
🛠 Improvements
- Native Rust aria2 client — Migrated aria2 JSON-RPC communication from TypeScript to a native Rust WebSocket client, improving reliability and enabling backend-only operation in lightweight mode
- Modular service architecture — Task store and runtime services refactored into a clean service-based architecture with dedicated modules for stat polling, speed scheduling, and task monitoring
- Native tray event handling — All tray menu actions (pause-all, resume-all, new-task, quit) handled directly in Rust, ensuring functionality when the WebView is destroyed
- macOS Dock progress bar — Implemented a custom MotrixProgressIndicator class (subclass of NSProgressIndicator) with drawRect: override for correct Dock tile rendering
- Platform-gated configuration — macOS/Windows-only config fields (dock_badge_speed, show_progress_bar) are now #[cfg]-gated, eliminating dead code warnings on Linux
- Structured logging — Replaced scattered console.* calls with a unified structured logger and persistent pre-flight logging in GPU guard
- Simplified MTooltip — Removed global state and cooldown logic for cleaner tooltip behavior
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Fixed macOS Dock progress bar not rendering at all (standard NSProgressIndicator does not draw in NSDockTile)
- Fixed BT task deletion failing due to raw infoHash strings in history metadata instead of structured JSON
- Suppressed noisy maxminddb log output and simplified peer tracker column layout

Notes de la versió
What's Changed
This release decouples seeding tasks from pause operations and fixes the system tray menu.
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Pause All no longer stops seeding tasks — "Pause All" (toolbar, tray, macOS menu) now pauses only active downloads, leaving seeding tasks undisturbed
- Pause All button disables correctly — When only seeding tasks are active, the "Pause All" button is now grayed out instead of clickable
- Double-click no longer pauses seeding tasks — Double-clicking a seeding task card is now a no-op, consistent with the single-task action buttons
- Toggle shortcut skips seeding tasks — Keyboard/toggle actions no longer accidentally pause seeding tasks
- System tray menu fully functional — Added missing core:window:allow-unminimize permission that caused all tray menu actions (Show, New Task, Pause All, Resume All) to fail silently
3.6.7 10 d’abril del 2026 — 64 bits EXE (NSIS)
Notes de la versió
What's Changed
This release introduces a dual-layer file deletion architecture that automatically cleans up internal aria2 engine metadata files (.aria2, hex40 .torrent, .meta4) after BT tasks finish seeding. Previously, these files would accumulate in the user's download directory as persistent garbage due to the force-save=true configuration required for seeding resumption.
🛠 Improvements
- Dual-layer deletion architecture — User-downloaded content continues to be moved to the OS trash (recoverable), while internal aria2 metadata is now permanently deleted to eliminate storage clutter
- Automatic .aria2 control file cleanup — .aria2 piece bitmap files are now cleaned up when BT seeding ends, whether by manual stop or automatic seed-ratio/seed-time threshold
- .meta4 metalink metadata support — Extended cleanup coverage to include aria2-generated .meta4 files alongside hex40 .torrent metadata
- System UI font stack — Replaced custom web fonts with the native system font stack for improved performance and a more native look across platforms
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Fixed orphaned hex40 .torrent metadata files not being cleaned up for session-restored tasks that auto-complete seeding
3.6.6 8 d’abril del 2026 — 64 bits EXE (NSIS)

3.6.4 7 d’abril del 2026 — 64 bits EXE (NSIS)
Notes de la versió
What's Changed
This release fixes a critical bug where URL protocol associations (magnet, thunder) could not be re-registered after being taken over by another application, and introduces safer file deletion using the OS trash.
✨ New Features
- OS Trash for file deletion — Deleted task files are now moved to the system trash (Recycle Bin / macOS Trash) instead of being permanently removed, allowing easy recovery
- Skip-confirm file deletion option — New preference to automatically delete associated files when skipping the task deletion confirmation dialog
- Engine port conflict hint — EngineOverlay now displays troubleshooting guidance when the aria2 RPC port is occupied by another process
🛠 Improvements
- Folder-based BT cleanup prevents accidental directory trashing when removing torrent tasks
- Increased engine connection retry count from 1 to 3 for more resilient startup recovery
- Standardized message toast durations across the application
- Added reveal animation to the primary download button
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Fixed protocol registration not firing on save — When config already said "enabled" but the OS association was lost (e.g. another app took over magnet:), saving in Settings silently skipped the registration call. The save logic now queries the OS actual state and registers if needed
- Fixed engine startup flakiness — waitForEngine default retries increased to prevent premature connection timeout on slower systems
3.6.3 6 d’abril del 2026 — 64 bits EXE (NSIS)
Notes de la versió
What's Changed

What's Changed
This is a major stability and quality release that consolidates 5 beta iterations into a polished stable build. Every change has been rigorously verified across platforms. Users will notice significantly improved download performance, better Linux desktop integration, and a more reliable engine lifecycle.
✨ New Features
- Global option synchronization — User-configured settings (split, max-connection-per-server, user-agent, etc.) are now automatically synced to the aria2 engine via changeGlobalOption RPC after every startup and restart. External RPC clients (e.g., browser extensions pushing downloads) now correctly inherit your configured connection limits instead of falling back to aria2 defaults
- Increased max connections — Maximum connections per server raised to 128, with a default of 64
- Bare info hash recognition — Pasting a raw SHA-1 hex or Base32 BitTorrent info hash is now automatically converted to a magnet URI
- Log file clearing — New option in Advanced Preferences to clear the application log file with localized success/failure feedback
- DMABuf renderer detection — Linux systems now intelligently detect whether WebKitGTK's DMABuf workaround is active, enabling proper full-screen maximize behavior for non-NVIDIA users
🛠 Improvements
- aria2 argument generation refactored — Security and metadata options are now delegated to aria2.conf, reducing command-line argument complexity
- BitTorrent metadata always saved — bt-save-metadata is now always enabled and removed from user configuration to prevent accidental data loss
- Magnet metadata polling — Polling now pauses during file selection dialogs to prevent UI overlap, with automatic restart when pending GIDs exist
- Wayland force-close recovery — Implemented recovery for Wayland's implicit close behavior where CloseRequested events may not fire
- Advanced preferences reorganized — Engine, session, log, and history management options are now logically grouped for clarity
- RPC secret handling — Improved differentiation between unset and empty RPC secrets
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Fixed RPC download connection limit — Downloads pushed via RPC (e.g., from browser extensions) previously used only 5 connections regardless of user settings. Now correctly uses the configured value (e.g., 64)
- Fixed Linux maximize border-radius — Non-NVIDIA Linux users no longer waste screen space with rounded corners when maximized (NVIDIA users with WEBKIT_DISABLE_DMABUF_RENDERER=1 retain the workaround)
- Fixed close event migration — Tauri CloseRequested handling migrated to on_window_event for reliable close prevention across all platforms
- Fixed update check timestamp — lastCheckUpdateTime is now always recorded after an update check

What's Changed
This release resolves HTTPS download failures on Linux caused by a TLS certificate verification issue in the custom-built aria2c engine.
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Reverted aria2c engine to v1.36.0 — The custom-compiled aria2c 1.37.0 (OpenSSL 3.x static build) failed to locate system CA certificates on Linux, causing SSL/TLS handshake failure: unable to get local issuer certificate on all HTTPS downloads. Reverted to the proven 1.36.0 binaries across all platforms until the build configuration is corrected
- Capped max connections per server to 64 — aria2c 1.36.0 enforces a maximum of 64 connections per server; the UI now reflects this limit
🛠 Improvements
- Exit dialog reliability on Linux/Wayland — Exit confirmation dialog is now emitted from the backend for improved reliability on Wayland compositors
3.4.3 17 de març del 2026 — 64 bits EXE (NSIS)

What's Changed
This release improves BitTorrent post-download cleanup, adds safeguards for advanced settings, and modernizes Linux build dependencies.
✨ New Features
- Move to Trash — Completed .torrent source files are now moved to the system trash instead of permanently deleted, with a toast notification on success
- High Connection Warning — Setting more than 64 connections per server now shows a confirmation dialog explaining potential risks
🛠 Improvements
- ESLint Architecture Guards — Replaced custom Vitest line-count tests with standard ESLint max-lines and max-lines-per-function rules for uniform enforcement across all files
- Linux Dependency Update — Migrated CI from deprecated libappindicator3-dev to libayatana-appindicator3-dev, matching Tauri 2 official prerequisites
- Race Condition Fix — Torrent source path tracking now uses infoHash instead of gid, preventing path loss when small torrents complete before GID assignment
3.4.2 17 de març del 2026 — 64 bits EXE (NSIS)

3.3.1 16 de març del 2026 — 64 bits EXE (NSIS)
Notes de la versió
What's Changed
Patch release that fixes a Linux .deb installation conflict reported on Deepin and other distributions.
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Fixed .deb package conflict with system aria2 — The bundled aria2c sidecar binary has been renamed from aria2c to motrixnext-aria2c, resolving the dpkg error "Trying to overwrite /usr/bin/aria2c, which is also included in package aria2" that occurred on systems with aria2 already installed.
- Fixed single-task stop-seeding toast — Stopping seeding on a single task now correctly shows "Seeding stopped" instead of "All seeding stopped".
3.2.3 15 de març del 2026 — 64 bits EXE (NSIS)
Notes de la versió
Caution
v3.2.2 Windows users should update immediately — that version shows a native "Tauri App" title bar on Windows, breaking the custom UI and transparency.

What's Changed
Emergency fix for a critical Windows UI regression introduced in v3.2.2.
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Windows native title bar — Fixed tauri.windows.conf.json missing critical window properties (decorations: false, transparent: true, shadow: false, title), causing a native "Tauri App" title bar to wrap the application on Windows. This was due to Tauri's RFC 7396 array replacement behavior in platform-specific configs. macOS and Linux were not affected.
