Aquí hi ha 14 versions de jellytoast, des de 18 de juny del 2026 fins a l’actual, 0.2.4. Cadascuna enllaça amb els instal·ladors del mateix desenvolupador.
| Versió | Data | Mida | Fitxers |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.2.4Darrera versió | 25 d’octubre del 2026 | — | 64 bits EXE (Inno Setup)64 bits EXE (Inno Setup)ARM64 EXE (Inno Setup)ARM64 EXE (Inno Setup) Notes de la versió- New phone interface. On Plasma Mobile and Phosh jellytoast now opens a
rebuilt touch-first app: smoother scrolling, swipe gestures, a Home page, search,
lyrics, the queue (drag to reorder), playlists you can edit, internet
radio, downloads, casting, EQ, crossfade and Last.fm / ListenBrainz. Prefer
the old one? Settings → Use the classic interface and restart.
- Install it on a Linux phone. New instructions for Nura (formerly
postmarketOS) and Arch Linux ARM, including a package for Alpine / Nura —
see Linux phones in the README.
- The phone interface speaks Spanish too. All ~200 of its new strings are
translated, so Spanish is complete again.
- Music keeps playing when you close the phone app. Close it mid-song and
it carries on in the background; tap the app or the media controls to get
it back. Close it while paused and it quits as before.
- Easier sign-in. Just type your server's address — jellytoast works out
whether it's Jellyfin or Navidrome, adds the missing http:// or port, and
copes with a link pasted from your server's web page. If something's wrong,
it says what: can't reach it, not a music server, or wrong password.
- Album art shows up faster the first time. A server that's slow to make
thumbnails no longer leaves the grid blank for half a minute, art that
fails to load is retried (on phones too), and albums without art just show
the placeholder.
- No more tray pop-up every launch. On desktops without a system tray you
get a one-time note instead.
- Steadier speaker-group casting. Casting to a group of speakers no
longer stops after a song or two when the connection hiccups — it moves on
to the next track, retries once if the group is briefly unreachable, and
sends volume changes without flooding the speakers.
- Smoother song changes when casting. The next song now waits in the
speaker's own queue, so speakers move on by themselves — no gap while the
app hands over each track, and no stop if the app loses touch for a moment.
- Speakers get their volume back. When you stop casting (or quit, or
the app crashes mid-cast), each speaker goes back to the level it had
before — even one that was briefly offline when you stopped — so the TV
isn't left too loud or too quiet.
- Phosh support. On Phosh phones jellytoast opens the new phone
interface too, and notices when you dock.
- A proper casting card on phones. Tap the cast button for your
speakers, TVs and groups (they're all listed now, and it scrolls). While
casting you get a card with the speaker's own volume, each speaker's
level in a group, and Stop casting. Now Playing shows where it's playing.
- Listed as phone-friendly. Software centres now show jellytoast as
working on touch screens and phones.
- Add songs to playlists. Right-click (or long-press) a song, an album or
a playlist and pick Add to playlist — any of your Navidrome / Jellyfin
playlists, or New playlist… to start one. Also in the ⋮ menu on the
phone's Now Playing.
- Delete playlists. Right-click a playlist (or long-press it on a phone)
and pick Delete playlist. If it came from an .m3u file in your music
folder, jellytoast says so — the server will bring it back at its next scan
unless you remove the file. Playlists that aren't yours don't offer it.
- Plain background on phones. The frosted theme's grainy "glass"
texture (used when real blur isn't available) is gone on a phone — just a
clean, solid background.
- Tidier menus on phones. The view menu at the top is solid instead of
see-through, and the top-bar buttons never get a purple outline on a phone
(on desktop it only shows while you're using the keyboard).
- Steady layout on phone Now Playing. The cover, title, seek bar and
buttons stay put between tracks — a long title or format line no longer
nudges everything around.
- Each song shows its own cover art. On albums where songs carry their
own embedded art (compilations, singles collections), Now Playing, the
player bar and the lock screen now show each song's picture instead of
the album's.

| 0.2.3 | 20 d’octubre del 2026 | — | 64 bits EXE (Inno Setup)64 bits EXE (Inno Setup)ARM64 EXE (Inno Setup)ARM64 EXE (Inno Setup) Notes de la versió- Fits phones and narrow windows. jellytoast now works down to 360 px
wide — Plasma Mobile included: a compact player bar, a slimmer top bar,
and a section picker in Settings. On desktop, the window can finally be
made narrow.
- Touchscreen support. Flick to scroll, tap to open, long-press for the
same menu a right-click gives. Touching a tile to scroll no longer opens
it. Album and playlist menus now also have Play and Favorite.
- Music no longer keeps your screen on. On KDE, playing music used to
stop the screen from dimming and locking — without actually preventing
sleep. Now it's the other way round: the screen can turn off, and the
computer stays awake while music plays.
- Media controls open jellytoast. Tapping jellytoast in Plasma's media
controls (and on the Plasma Mobile lock screen) now opens the app on
flatpak / deb / AppImage / AUR installs, with the right icon.
- Closing on Plasma Mobile. Swiping jellytoast away keeps the music
playing in the background (tap the media controls to come back);
with nothing playing it just closes. No more invisible tray icon there.
- Easier to tap on phones. On Plasma Mobile buttons are finger-sized and
the top bar tucks its extras into a ⋮ menu. jellytoast follows your phone's
own display scale. Settings, the smart playlist editor, the tag editor and
the cast picker fit a phone screen too.
- A new Now Playing on phones. A big cover with the song, artist, heart
and ⋮ beside it, a full-width seek bar, and big transport buttons. Lyrics,
the visualizer and the queue each swap in for the cover from a row of
buttons at the bottom; cast and the sleep timer live there too.
- Smoother flick scrolling, and an A–Z bar that works by touch. Flicks
glide for a moment instead of crawling on for seconds. Slide a finger down
the letter bar to scrub through your library, with a big letter showing
where you are. On phones the bar stays a slim line with your position until
you touch it, and album columns sit centred with bigger covers.
- A proper mini player on phones. The (now taller) player bar shows the song,
artist and cover with play and next, and a thin progress line. Tap it (or
swipe up) for Now Playing, where the full controls are.
- Swipes and tidier taps on touchscreens. Swipe up on the player bar
for Now Playing; there, swipe sideways between Playing and Tracks, or down
to close it. Tapping the volume button opens its slider. Buttons no longer
stay highlighted or pop up tooltips after you tap them.
- Back goes back from Radio, Downloads and Smart playlists. It used to
skip past the page you came from. The view picker at the top now also
stays in step when you go back and forward.
- Cover art on the lock screen, even offline. The Plasma media controls
and lock screen now get jellytoast's cached artwork, so it shows up without
a trip to the server.
- Covers no longer stay blank. Album covers that were on screen while
jellytoast sat in the background now load when you come back to it.
- No more covers on the wrong albums while loading. On first sign-in, art
could land on the wrong albums until the library finished loading.
- A loading spinner on first sign-in. Loading a big library for the first
time shows a spinner instead of an empty grid, so it doesn't look like the
login failed.
- Clearer cast failures. When a TV or speaker can't reach your computer
to fetch the music (usually a firewall), the error now says so and shows
the exact command to allow it.
- The album name dropdown stays centred. It could drift off-centre in the
top bar after the window was maximized.
- macOS: Apple Silicon only from this version. The Mac download now runs on
Apple Silicon Macs (macOS 15+). Intel Macs stay on 0.2.2. |
| 0.2.1 | 14 de juliol del 2026 | — | 64 bits EXE (Inno Setup)ARM64 EXE (Inno Setup) Notes de la versió- Visualizer stops eating CPU when you look away. The audio visualizer kept
running in the background after you switched back to lyrics or left the
now-playing screen — burning battery for nothing. It now runs only while it's
actually on screen.
- Big libraries: album art keeps loading instead of stalling. On large
collections served by a busy server, cover art could load a handful then stop
(or blank out) — the server was choking on resizing every thumbnail. The app
now notices a slow server and fetches the original art instead, so the grid
fills in reliably.
- Flatpak: no more see-through windows when blur is off. On desktops where
KDE's blur effect isn't running (hi, Steam Deck), the Flatpak painted clear
glass over an unblurred desktop. It now detects that properly and falls back
to the regular frosted look.
- HTTPS servers play again on Flatpak and the Mac App Store build. The
audio engine in those two builds shipped without TLS, so a server behind
https (reverse proxy, Tailscale, most remote setups) would browse fine but
play nothing — silently. Both builds now speak https.
- Flatpak: "Launch at login" actually launches at login. The toggle wrote
a startup entry pointing inside the sandbox, which the desktop couldn't run.
It now writes the proper flatpak launch command. |
| 0.2.0 | 12 de juliol del 2026 | — | 64 bits EXE (Inno Setup)ARM64 EXE (Inno Setup) Notes de la versió- One download for every Mac. macOS is now a single universal .dmg that
runs natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel — no more picking the right
one. Heads up: it now needs macOS 15 (Sequoia) or newer.
- The Mac .dmg gets its glass back. The direct-download build was missing
the piece that powers native frosted blur, Control Center controls, and
notifications (the App Store build had it all along). Now they match.
- Native on Windows ARM. There's now a real ARM64 build, so jellytoast
runs at full speed on Snapdragon / ARM PCs instead of through emulation.
One installer picks the right version for your PC automatically.
- The library name shrinks before it collides. With a couple of libraries
selected, the title up top steps down ("Music Library +1", then "2
libraries") instead of sliding under the Albums menu.
- "Other audio is playing" matches the rest. That little popup now wears
the same frosted style as the app's other hover notes.
- Windows scrobblers: reconnect once. Windows now keeps your logins in its
own secure store. Your server sign-in carries over automatically — but if you
scrobble to ListenBrainz or Last.fm, you'll reconnect those one time after
updating.
- Offline mode actually stays offline. With offline mode on, the app no
longer quietly pings your server for play-progress or lyrics — and switching
it on mid-song is steadier for it. |
| 0.1.9 | 10 de juliol del 2026 | — | 64 bits EXE (Inno Setup) Notes de la versió- Smart playlists respect your library picker. With only some libraries
selected, previews and Save & Play no longer sneak in tracks from the
ones you deselected — fixed on both Jellyfin and Navidrome / Subsonic. |
| 0.1.8 | 6 de juliol del 2026 | — | 64 bits EXE (Inno Setup) Notes de la versió- Picking a few libraries now actually filters. With 3+ libraries on
the server, checking a subset in the Music dropdown used to quietly show
everything (with an apologetic toast). Now Albums, Artists, Songs, and
Suggestions really show just the libraries you picked — and on a Jellyfin
server with several music libraries, "all" finally means all of them, not
just the first one.
- Smart playlists start much faster on Navidrome / Subsonic. Hitting
Play on a smart playlist could sit there for 10+ seconds while we fetched
the library one album at a time; it now grabs songs in bulk (and in
parallel where it can't). Bonus: playlists built on play count, rating,
or artist/album text used to only see the first 500 albums of a big
library — that limit is gone on Navidrome.
- AppImage self-updates actually work now. Every AppImage shipped an
update feed pointing at a file we never uploaded, so AppImageUpdate always
failed. Fixed from this release on — and since the feed watches the latest
release, AppImages you already have start updating too.
- Songs sorting fixed on Navidrome / Subsonic. On big libraries your
chosen sort only held within each 500-track chunk; it now applies to the
whole list.
- Repeat-all un-greys Next. With repeat on, the OS media controls (KDE
widget, Windows flyout / lock screen) no longer disable Next on the last
track — it wraps, like it always did in-app.
- Smart playlists are honest on Subsonic. "Rating" and "Last played"
rules can't match on Subsonic / Navidrome (the server doesn't send that
data) — the editor now says so instead of quietly building a playlist
that stays empty forever.
- Tab works on the sign-in form. It now hops straight down the fields
to Sign in, and you can always see where it landed.
- Smart playlist rules are back on Navidrome / Subsonic. Adding or
editing a rule quietly did nothing there — fixed, and the fields your
server can't match now explain themselves on hover.
- Small stuff. Selecting several libraries (but not all) now tells you
the filter isn't applied yet; the "Only download on Wi-Fi" checkbox is
gone until it can actually pause anything; failed favorites / scrobbles
now leave a trace in the log instead of vanishing. |
| 0.1.7 | 3 de juliol del 2026 | — | 64 bits EXE (Inno Setup) Notes de la versió- Themes. Settings → Display now has a proper theme picker: Catppuccin
(all four flavors), Dracula, Everforest, Gruvbox, Nord, One Dark, Rosé Pine,
Solarized, and Tokyo Night, alongside the jellytoast look — each previewed
with its own palette strip. Families with a dark and a light half can follow
your system's light/dark setting, and a glass opacity slider tunes how
deep the frosted look goes. Everything applies live, with a 10-second
keep-or-revert prompt so a bad pick undoes itself.
- Bring your own theme. Import any base16 .yaml color scheme (there are
hundreds in the community), or drop schemes into
~/.config/jellytoast/themes/ and they show up in the picker. If a file in
that folder changes while it's your active theme, the app re-themes on the
spot — so wallpaper-theming tools like matugen can drive jellytoast.
- Follow your desktop. Follow system accent adopts your OS accent color
live — on KDE / GNOME, Windows, and macOS. And on Linux, Follow pywal /
wallust re-themes the whole app every time your wallpaper changes. |
| 0.1.6 | 1 de juliol del 2026 | — | 64 bits EXE (Inno Setup) Notes de la versió- Font and size change live. Settings → Display → Font lets you set the
app's text to any font installed on your system (each previewed in itself;
icons are unaffected), and both the font and the font size now apply
instantly — no restart. Each change shows a 10-second "Keep or revert"
prompt so a choice that doesn't work for you undoes itself, and that prompt
always stays readable even if the font you picked isn't.
- Square corners, if that's your thing. A new Settings → Display → Square
corners switch squares off every rounded corner in the app — windows, album
art, players, dialogs, buttons, menus, the lot — for a sharper, boxier look.
Genuinely round controls (the play button, sliders) stay round. Takes effect
after a restart.
- Big libraries load their album art reliably now. On a large library
(thousands of albums, especially on Subsonic / Navidrome) the cover grid could
load a handful of covers and then stall, or all the art could blink out at once
and come back — over and over. Three things were behind it: the loader flooded a
busy server, a slow-but-alive server got mistaken for "offline" (which blanked
the grid), and the on-disk cover cache was too small to keep a big library
between launches. All fixed — covers fill in steadily and stay put, and ones you
scroll past and back reload instantly.
- Lighter still on huge track lists. The Songs view caps the thumbnails it
keeps in memory, so a library with tens of thousands of tracks no longer grows
RAM the longer you scroll. |
| 0.1.5 | 29 de juny del 2026 | — | 64 bits EXE (Inno Setup) Notes de la versió- Intel Mac support. A native Intel (x86_64) .dmg now ships alongside the
Apple Silicon one — grab the build for your chip. Both are signed + notarized.
Needs macOS Sequoia (15) or newer on Intel, Sonoma (14) or newer on Apple Silicon.
- Real frosted-glass blur on macOS. The window now uses genuine native
vibrancy — where it used to fall back to a near-opaque panel — and it stays put
through resize, fullscreen, and focus changes.
- Update notifications. On manual installs (.dmg / .deb / AppImage /
installer), jellytoast now quietly checks for a newer release and shows an
"Update available" chip in the top bar — no more unknowingly running an old
version. The Microsoft Store / Mac App Store builds update themselves and are
left alone. You can turn the check off in Settings → General.
- Snapcast removed. It only ever controlled an existing Snapcast server — it
couldn't play your library to one — so it's gone. Chromecast, AirPlay 2, DLNA,
and Sonos are unchanged.
- Casting is opt-in. Nothing scans your network until you turn a protocol on in
Settings → Casting; the cast button takes you there if nothing's enabled yet.
- Lighter on big libraries. The album grid no longer keeps every cover you've
scrolled past in memory — it caps them and reloads from disk as needed, so a huge
library won't balloon RAM.
- The Songs view loads instantly again. It re-renders from its saved cache
instead of re-fetching the whole track list every time you open it.
- Small polish. Long titles that overflow now scroll with a soft fade instead
of a hard cut, and a tile with no artwork shows a subtle placeholder glyph in
place of a blank square.
- Fixes. The year no longer shows "None" for tracks without one; shuffle,
repeat, and window position now stick when you quit from the tray; rewinding a
track no longer skews your scrobbles; plus casting + reconnection robustness. |
| 0.1.4 | 26 de juny del 2026 | — | 64 bits EXE (Inno Setup) Notes de la versiójellytoast comes to macOS — a native, notarized app with the platform's
frosted look and deep system integration built in.
Added
- macOS support. jellytoast now ships for macOS as a Developer-ID-signed,
notarized .dmg — verified on macOS 26 Tahoe (Gatekeeper-clean, no
right-click-to-open dance) — with first-class native integration:
- Media keys + Now Playing. The hardware media keys, Control Center, and
the lock screen drive playback and show the current track + artwork
(MPNowPlayingInfoCenter + MPRemoteCommandCenter).
- Window vibrancy. The frosted chrome rides a real macOS
NSVisualEffectView backdrop (the native equivalent of the Linux blur),
and honors the Reduce Transparency accessibility setting — falling back
to a near-opaque body when it's on.
- Native menu bar + Dock menu. A proper global menu bar (About / Settings
/ Quit in the application menu) plus a Dock transport menu.
- Integrated titlebar. A transparent, full-height titlebar so the window
chrome flows up under the traffic lights — and the inset drops away in
fullscreen.
- Notifications + launch-at-login. Track-change banners via Notification
Center, and optional autostart through a per-user LaunchAgent.
Changed
- winget auto-submits on publish. Publishing a release now automatically
submits the updated winget manifest to microsoft/winget-pkgs, with a
workflow_dispatch backfill to (re)submit an already-published tag.
(Release-process plumbing; no user-facing change.)
Fixed
- Interrupted downloads no longer strand. If the app quits or is killed
mid-download, in-flight downloads are now flipped back to pending on
shutdown (instead of being stuck "downloading" forever) and resume cleanly on
the next launch — and any orphaned partial blob files left behind are
reconciled against the database, so a cut-off download never wedges the queue
or leaks disk space. (All platforms.)
- (macOS) Mini-player + app naming. The floating mini-player now reliably
appears at the bottom-right — driven through the native window, since Qt
won't order a frameless always-on-top window front on macOS — and the app
menu reads "jellytoast" instead of "Python" when run from source. |
| 0.1.3 | 21 de juny del 2026 | — | 64 bits EXE (Inno Setup) Notes de la versióTwo new ways to get jellytoast — a universal-Linux AppImage and a one-click
demo so you can try the app with no server of your own. Behind the scenes,
Flatpak/Flathub are fully retired and the release pipeline is unified so one
push reaches every channel.
Added
- Universal-Linux AppImage. A single self-contained
jellytoast-<version>-x86_64.AppImage that runs on essentially any modern
Linux distro with no install and no root — chmod +x it and run. It bundles
its own libmpv + FFmpeg, so it works even on a system that has no mpv, and it
carries update metadata for AppImageUpdate delta updates. Built on the same
glibc floor as the .deb and smoke-tested in clean containers to prove it's
truly self-contained.
- "Try a demo" on the sign-in screen. No server of your own? One click fills
the form for the selected server type and signs you into a public, read-only
demo — Navidrome (demo.navidrome.org) or the Jellyfin project's demo server —
so you can explore jellytoast instantly. It uses the normal sign-in path, so
the demo behaves exactly like a real server (and you can point at your own any
time).
Changed
- Flatpak and Flathub are fully retired. jellytoast is no longer packaged as
a Flatpak or distributed via Flathub; the manifest, the runtime
sandbox-detection code, and the references are gone. Linux is served by the
.deb, the new AppImage, and — when registration reopens — the AUR. (Packaging
only; Flatpak was never actually shipped, so there's no user-facing change.)
- Unified, single-push release pipeline. dev/cut_release.sh now stamps the
version across every distribution channel's manifest in one pass (winget and
AUR alongside the existing files), and CI fails the release if any channel
drifts — so a release can no longer ship a channel pointing at a stale version.
Publishing then fans out to PyPI / winget / AUR automatically. Full runbook in
docs/RELEASING.md. (Developer-facing.) |
