Aquí hi ha 8 versions de GodMan, des de 12 de febrer del 2026 fins a l’actual, 1.4.1. Cadascuna enllaça amb els instal·ladors del mateix desenvolupador.

Global installs moved to /usr/local/lib/godman (Linux)
Global installs used to live in /usr/local/bin/godman — a directory with the exact
name the godman binary needs in /usr/local/bin for sudo godman to work. They now
live in /usr/local/lib/godman.
- The move happens automatically on the first privileged run of a godman command that
sets up its paths — list, doctor, install, fetch and the like; for example
sudo ~/.local/bin/godman list (see below for why the full path). version and
--help do not trigger it. With GODMAN_GLOBAL_ROOT set, the same move runs inside
that prefix (see below). Unprivileged commands keep working in the meantime and still
see your global installs.
- The global godot shim, and the env.sh it sources, are rewritten as part of the move
so godot keeps working. Under a HOME-resetting sudo (the default on
Fedora, Debian and Ubuntu) that env.sh is root's (/root/.config/godman/env.sh), the
one the global shim was written to source. godman doctor
now checks what the shim actually points at and tells you if it is broken; for a global
install the fix is sudo ~/.local/bin/godman activate <id> (doctor prints the exact
command for your machine).
- User installs that still sit in ~/.local/bin/godman move to
~/.local/share/godman/installs the same way.
Breaking (Linux): GODMAN_GLOBAL_ROOT is now a prefix, as it already was on
Windows: the shim goes to <prefix>/bin and installs to <prefix>/lib/godman. It used to
name the shim directory, with installs in <value>/godman. If you set it:
- /usr/local/bin (the old default): set it to /usr/local, or unset it. The move
above then runs as usual.
- Another shim directory, <X>/bin: set it to <X>. The next run that can write
there moves <X>/bin/godman to <X>/lib/godman, rebases the recorded install paths
and rewrites the global shim, as above. For a system directory that run is under
sudo, and sudo drops GODMAN_GLOBAL_ROOT from the environment by default, so pass it
through: sudo GODMAN_GLOBAL_ROOT=<X> ~/.local/bin/godman list (or sudo -E, if your
sudoers allows it). A plain sudo ~/.local/bin/godman list would migrate /usr/local
instead. Every sudo command godman prints already includes the variable. A
restricted sudoers rule without SETENV rejects the VAR=value form ("sorry, you are
not allowed to set the following environment variables"); in that case add
GODMAN_GLOBAL_ROOT to env_keep and run a plain sudo with the variable exported.
- Any other value <V>: godman cannot move <V>/godman for you, since it only moves
<prefix>/bin/godman. Pick a prefix <P>, set GODMAN_GLOBAL_ROOT=<P>, move
<V>/godman to <P>/lib/godman, and update the install paths recorded in its
installs.json (or reinstall those versions); then re-run activate for the active
one so the shim follows.
If you keep a pre-1.4.0 value, godman takes it as a prefix and finds nothing: while
<value>/godman still holds installs and <value>/lib/godman/installs.json does not
exist, list and doctor warn and say what to set, and global install, activate
and remove refuse to run (changing nothing) until the variable is fixed. godman does
not create <value>/bin or <value>/lib/godman while the old value is set.
An empty GODMAN_GLOBAL_ROOT counts as unset. A relative one is used for paths as
before, but godman never migrates or creates directories under it.
When sudo godman says "command not found"
sudo only searches its own secure_path — on Fedora, Debian and Ubuntu
/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin — which never includes
~/.local/bin, where the installer puts godman. Until the migration
has run, /usr/local/bin/godman is also still a directory. Run godman by its full path:
sudo ~/.local/bin/godman list
After that, on most distributions (Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu) you can install the binary to
/usr/local/bin (GODMAN_INSTALL_DIR=/usr/local/bin, run as root) so that plain
sudo godman works. RHEL-family systems (RHEL, Rocky, Alma) leave /usr/local/bin off
secure_path: install to /usr/bin (the RPM pac |
