🛠️ Improvements & bug fixes
- Fixed an issue where the app did not always start when set to launch automatically.
- (Windows) Fixed an issue, introduced in version 7.5.1, where some items like images could not be dragged from File Explorer into the app and some plugins could not interact with the app.
- The background library now includes backgrounds sized for the Stream Deck Neo Infobar.
- The Website action now updates its icon whenever the URL changes.
- Fixed an issue where Stream Deck Network Dock could disconnect at random.

AI Tools, Meet Stream Deck
Stream Deck now supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP), letting AI tools connect and trigger designated actions. NVIDIA Project G-Assist, the on-device AI assistant for GeForce RTX PCs, is the first to connect — and it brings something entirely new to Stream Deck: voice control. For the first time, you can trigger your actions just by speaking.

- Improved account sign-in behavior to address an issue where account authentication windows would pop up repeatedly in your browser — the app will no longer automatically open your browser to prompt for Twitch, YouTube, or other account logins.
- Updated CORSAIR Galleon 100 SD firmware (3.06.005), which resolves a display issue affecting some units. The update is applied automatically when your device connects.
- (macOS) Updated default profiles for Galleon 100 SD and Stream Deck + XL.
- (Windows) Fixed an issue where the Toggle Virtual Stream Deck key could appear visually stuck after the interface was reopened. Functionality was not affected.

🔎 In-App Marketplace Search
Plugins enable new and powerful features for your Stream Deck, and we want to make the experience of finding and quickly using them easier. In Stream Deck 7.1, you can now browse recommended plugins and search for plugins right inside the action list.
Once you’re signed in with your Marketplace account, installing plugins takes just one click.

🖼️ Refreshed Desktop Icon
We’re updating icons across all Elgato apps, and Stream Deck now refined look with color on both Windows and macOS.

💾 Profiles save more resources
Profiles in Stream Deck are incredibly powerful, making it easy to share complete configurations. However, they’re limited to sharing just the icon and key layout. With Stream Deck 7.0, profiles now tell you which plugins you’ll need when importing a profile, and you can install them with one click. Further improving the workflow, profiles exported with Stream Deck 7.1 now include files such as music that have been configured in an action.
Makers, your plugin can now contain custom resources which are included in profiles exported with Stream Deck 7.1. Learn more in our Maker Docs.

⛔ Disable Stream Deck Devices
Stream Deck devices can now be disabled in the Stream Deck app. This enables third-party software, such as Bitfocus Buttons and other applications, to communicate directly with Stream Deck devices. At the same time, the Stream Deck app can now remain open to support other Stream Deck hardware, Virtual Stream Deck or Stream Deck Mobile.
You’ll find the option in Preferences > Devices > Enabled (Yes/No)

🔁 NodeJS Sideloading
Developers, this one's for you. Stream Deck now automatically downloads and updates only the specific Node.js versions needed by your plugins—reducing the app’s size and ensuring you always have the right tools for your plugins. The version of Node.js required can be configured in your plugin’s manifest file.

Improvements & bug fixes
- The Volume Controller plugin is no longer bundled by default. When setting up Stream Deck for the first time, the default profile will notify that the plugin is missing, and you can optionally install it, or not.
- Stream Deck Network Dock firmware can now be updated via the Stream Deck app.
- Improvements were made to Smart Profiles and switching when games are running in Borderless Windowed mode. If Smart Profiles do not detect a game you are playing, please get in touch with our support team so we can collect more information.
- Improved macOS 26 compatibility, and progress bars now appear again, for example, when downloading an update.
- Resolved a bug that was preventing profile importing
- Resolved a bug that could cause a crash when importing a profile
- When switching between pages with many Open Application actions, Stream Deck will no longer temporarily freeze
- Fixed a bug where installing Stream Deck would stop due to a missing MSVCP140.dll file.

What’s new in Stream Deck 6.9?
Plenty. This update brings smarter ways to open apps, paste text, and lots more—plus a fresh layer of quality-of-life improvements.
Let’s dive in.

The minimum requirements for operating systems are changing with this release.
- macOS 11 Big Sur → macOS 13 Ventura.
- Windows 10 → Windows 11.
Microsoft is ending support for Windows 10 in October 2025. Stream Deck should continue to work on Windows 10, however, we cannot guarantee full functionality.

🆕 Open App - From launch to close, all on one key
Launching your favorite apps just got easier. The new Open Application action shows a searchable list of installed programs—no file path hunting required.
And it now works with Windows Store (UWP) apps like Discord, Spotify, and Microsoft Teams.
✨ Pro tip: Press and hold the key to close the app. Quick in, quick out.

📝 Text Action – Now with Clipboard Paste Mode
The Text action now includes paste mode selection with options for simulating typing or pasting from clipboard. Simulate typing is exactly that—its as if you're typing the text. Paste from Clipboard is new and text is pasted as if you’ve pressed CTRL/CMD+V. The default mode has been changed to Paste from Clipboard.
- Simulate Typing is useful for programs that need inputs, like typing out commands in sim games
- Paste from Clipboard is useful for chat applications, when you want to paste a block of text as a single message

🌐 Website Action – Choose Your Browser
Now you can choose exactly where your Website actions open. Chrome for work, Firefox for dev, Safari for testing—it’s all up to you.
Just pick from your installed browsers in the dropdown. The old “GET request in background” toggle now lives here too, tucked away for power users.

⬇️ Profiles just got smarter
Importing profiles from Marketplace? Stream Deck 6.9 now helps you hit the ground running. If a profile uses actions from plugins you don’t have, you’ll be prompted to install them automatically—no guesswork, no more question marks.
Note: This only applies to profiles created with Stream Deck 6.9 or later.*

A few small touches make a big difference:
- Option to launch Stream Deck on startup
- Option to disable automatic update checks

When someone sends you an action, drag the action from your file manager directly onto a key, or right-click on a key and select “Import”.

What’s new in Stream Deck 6.6.1?
This is a small hotfix to improve your Stream Deck Neo experience, and fix a bug that’s affecting the Open action.

🔁 Stream Deck Neo Firmware
This update includes the latest firmware for Stream Deck Neo, which optimizes the display of images on keys.
How to update your Stream Deck firmware:
1. Open Preferences
2. Go to the Devices tab
3. If the firmware update is available, click on “Update Firmware…”
4. Wait for the firmware update to complete
While the update is in progress, do not quit Stream Deck or unplug your device.
