| Versió | Data | Mida | Fitxers |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3.6.8-r1Darrera versió | 25 d’octubre del 2026 | — | 64 bits EXEARM64 EXE Notes de la versióUpstream:
- GitHub Desktop 3.6.8-beta3 release notes
- GitHub Desktop 3.6.8-beta4 release notes
- GitHub Desktop 3.6.8 release notes
Changes and improvements:
- [#293] You can now set the default editor to "Use system default program". This is useful in media-heavy repositories where you want to use the system-defined program when double-clicking a file in the changes list.
You can set this globally in "File > Options > Integrations > External Editor", or per-repository in "File > Repository Options > Integrations > Custom External Editor".
- [#297] You can now revert multiple commits at once.
Simply select the commits you want to revert in the history view, right-click, and select "Revert changes in commits".
- [#299] You can now cherry-pick commits to multiple branches at once.
Right-click on the commit you want to cherry-pick, select "Cherry-pick commit...", and then select the branches you want to cherry-pick to.
- [#292] Inverted the order of the "Pull all" and "Add" buttons in the repository list. This should reduce the number of accidental "Pull all" clicks for new users coming from GitHub Desktop.
Fixes:
None in this release. |
| 3.6.8-r0 | 20 d’octubre del 2026 | — | 64 bits EXEARM64 EXE Notes de la versióUpstream:
- GitHub Desktop 3.6.8-beta1 release notes
- GitHub Desktop 3.6.8-beta2 release notes
Changes and improvements:
- [#289] You can now snooze repositories to temporarily hide them from the repository list and prevent background syncing.
To snooze a repository, right-click on it in the repository list and select "Snooze...". Pick the date and time you want to snooze the repository until (for example, while you are on vacation).
Fixes:
- [#296] Windows: Bitbucket login for some users should no longer fail on Windows.
- [#294] [#295] Fixed minor UI styling issues. |
| 3.6.7-r2 | 17 d’octubre del 2026 | — | 64 bits EXEARM64 EXE Notes de la versióUpstream: GitHub Desktop 3.6.7 release notes
Changes and improvements:
- [#282] You can now use a folder tree view instead of the default plain file list. Thank you @AyhamAl-Ali for your contribution!
To enable it, click the toggle button in the Changes tab.
- The app currently has 2 view-mode toggles (in the Changes and History tabs). Since most people have a clear preference and don't need to switch between views constantly, you can now hide those toggles to reclaim some space in the UI.
To hide the toggles, select "View > Hide View-Mode Toggles" from the menu bar.
- [#271] The popups showing details about a commit's author now only appear when hovering over the author's name, instead of when hovering over the entire commit.
- [#286] Show a friendly error message when the app is unable to store the account token due to a missing keyring service.
Fixes:
- [#285] Fixed an issue where the commit list could remain filtered after the searchbox was cleared, causing the results to be incorrectly filtered.
- [#290] Fixed the layout of the "Let's get started" page being too big on certain screen aspect ratios.
- [#291] Fixed commit message generation when using a BYOK model named auto. |

| 3.6.6-r1 | 22 de setembre del 2026 | — | 64 bits EXEARM64 EXE Notes de la versióUpstream: GitHub Desktop 3.6.6 release notes
Changes and improvements:
- [#183] You can now search by commit author in the history view. Thank you @anaseeem for this great contribution!
Simply type author: to bring up the author search filter, then either select an author from the list or continue typing to filter the list. Click an author or press Enter to select it.
Use author: multiple times to find commits created by any one of them (OR search).
- [#260] The "recent repositories" list length is now configurable. Thanks @TurtIeSocks!
This replaces the old "Show recent repositories" checkbox in the appearance settings. If you want to hide the recent repositories list, you can set the length to 0.
- [#269] When "Show Conventional Commits prefixes as badges" is enabled, the badges now respect the capitalization used in the commit message.
Fixes:
- [#233] The app now opens the correct URL when selecting "Repository > Create issue on ..." on a GitLab, Codeberg/Forgejo, or Gitea repository.
- [#258] Linux: Updated Electron to fix a crash on startup when running with --ozone-platform=x11 on desktops that load appmenu-gtk-module (e.g. KDE Plasma with the global menu).
- macOS: Migrated the Homebrew cask from the deprecated postflight script to the new declarative postflight_steps format. Thanks @EstebanForge!
- Arch Linux: Added missing libnotify dependency to the AUR package, which is required for notifications to work. |
| 3.6.6-r0 | 10 de setembre del 2026 | — | 64 bits EXEARM64 EXE Notes de la versióUpstream: GitHub Desktop 3.6.6-beta1 release notes
Changes and improvements:
- Added a new context menu option to "Duplicate Branch" in the branch list. This is useful for quickly starting work on an existing (local or remote) branch without having to switch to it first.
Fixes:
- [#259] When choosing a GitLab, Gitea, or Codeberg/Forgejo repository from your account in the "Clone a repository" dialog, and you have a large number of repositories, the app now correctly fetches the entire list. Thanks @cjohnsonoem! |
| 3.6.5-r1 | 4 de setembre del 2026 | — | 64 bits EXEARM64 EXE Notes de la versióUpstream: GitHub Desktop 3.6.5 release notes
Changes and improvements:
- [#240] Sections in the repository list are now collapsible, just click the section header to collapse or expand it.
- [#241] Automatic groups in the repository list now also include a "Pull all" button.
It behaves the same as in custom groups: clicking it will pull all repositories in the group.
- Added an "Edit group" option to the groups context menu in the repository list.
To quickly rename a group or modify which repositories are included in it, right-click the group name and select "Edit group".
- [#242] Added a --new-window flag to the desktop-plus-cli command line interface. Thanks @pierre-dekode!
This flag can be used with any of the existing commands, and it will always create a new window instead of reusing an existing one. See the CLI documentation for more information.
- [#245] In the Stashed changes view, you can now choose to "Apply" the changes (git stash apply) instead of the old "Restore" behavior which also removes the stash (git stash pop).
Click on the dropdown arrow next to the "Restore" button to select your preferred behavior.
- [#248] You can now resize the sidebar while the repository list is open.
- [#233] The app now supports git remotes that use SSH aliases instead of full hostnames, by resolving the alias using the local SSH configuration.
This is a best-effort implementation which may not work in all cases, I recommend using HTTPS if you have a complex setup.
Fixes:
- [#207] Linux: Updated to a newer Electron version to fix a bug that caused the app to have 2 separate entries in the KDE system monitor. |

| 3.6.4-r4 | 13 d’agost del 2026 | — | 64 bits EXEARM64 EXE Notes de la versióUpstream: GitHub Desktop 3.6.4 release notes
Fixes:
- Fixed parsing of SSH remotes for repositories that belong to GitLab subgroups. For example: git@gitlab.com:my-org/subgroup/my-repo.git.
Please note that SSH remote parsing remains a best-effort implementation and may not work on some edge cases. I recommend cloning repositories inside the app, which will use HTTPS instead of SSH.
- Fixed an inconsistent User-Agent sent by the app when making API requests.
- Replaced some fork-specific patches with proper upstream fixes. You should not notice any difference in behavior, but if you find any regressions please open an issue. Functionality that could be affected by these changes includes:
- Running Git Hooks that read from stdin.
- Returning to the main worktree after the currently selected worktree has been deleted outside of the app.
- Linux: Git operations using HTTPS now use libcurl instead of libcurl-gnutls. |
| 3.6.4-r3 | 6 d’agost del 2026 | — | 64 bits EXEARM64 EXE Notes de la versióNote
Arch / Manjaro: This release is not yet available in the AUR, all AUR package updates are currently disabled due to the ongoing malware campaign. I'll update the package once the situation is resolved and updates are re-enabled.
Changes and improvements:
- [#32] After a long wait, we finally support self-hosted GitLab and Forgejo instances!
To sign in, go to Options > Accounts and click "Add self-hosted instance...". Keep in mind that self-hosted support is currently experimental. If you encounter any problems, please open an issue.
- [#214] Building on top of the self-hosted support we just added, we now also support Gitea instances. Thank you @eliasSFL for contributing an early draft!
Gitea support is also experimental, so please report any issues you encounter.
- [#229] The "View in your browser" button is now available for all remotes, not just for a whitelist of trusted hosts. This means you will always have the option to open a repository in your browser, even if the provider is not supported or you decide not to sign in to it.
Please note that the web UI URL that will be opened in the browser is a best-effort guess, especially for SSH remotes.
Limitations of self-hosted support
- Subpath deployments are not supported. For example, you cannot use https://example.com/gitlab as your self-hosted instance URL.
Subdomains and non-standard ports are supported, so you can use https://gitlab.example.com or http://localhost:1234.
- The sign-in process doesn't currently use OAuth2 and instead requires providing a generated Personal Access Token (PAT).
Note
This is not a technical limitation. This flow was chosen because I believe it's a better UX for self-hosted instances. Otherwise, everyone would need to create an OAuth2 application for their instance and then provide the client ID and secret to sign in, which is a lot more work for the user.
- If the API of your self-hosted instance is protected by Anubis, Cloudflare (in Bot Fight mode), or similar security mechanisms, the application won't be able to sign in. There is nothing I can do about this, as preventing non-browser traffic is the entire point of those mechanisms.
Consider contacting your instance administrator to see if they can whitelist the application's User-Agent in the API paths. For example, if using Anubis, add the following to your policy YAML file:
bots:
- name: desktop-plus
action: ALLOW
expression:
all:
- 'userAgent.contains("DesktopPlus/") || userAgent.contains("GitHubDesktop/")'
- 'path.startsWith("/api/")'
- Self-hosted Bitbucket Server instances are not supported at the moment. Their API is not compatible with Bitbucket Cloud, so implementating support would be an entire new feature, which is outside the scope of this release. If you want this feature, please open an issue to show your interest. |
| 3.6.4-r2 | 1 d’agost del 2026 | — | 64 bits EXEARM64 EXE Notes de la versióThis is a small release before merging in a large refactor to support self-hosted Git providers.
Changes and improvements:
- [#227] Moved the copilot configuration to the application's data directory, instead of creating it in the user's home directory.
- Greatly reduced the application's install size by removing a large Copilot bundled binary that was never called. This shouldn't affect any functionality, but if you notice any issues, please report them.
Fixes:
- [#224] Fixed a bug that caused the upstream remote in a newly cloned fork to not be fetched properly until the repository was refreshed.
- Fixed a warning message "no version information available" that was showing up in some HTTPS operations. |
| 3.6.4-r1 | 28 de juliol del 2026 | — | 64 bits EXEARM64 EXE Notes de la versióChanges and improvements:
- The "Last clone" location (that is, the autopopulated parent directory when cloning a repository) is now remembered per-account instead of globally. This is useful if you have a work account and a personal account, and you would like to keep your work repositories in a different location than your personal repositories.
- [#222] The app now uses HTTPS instead of SSH for git operations (clone, push, pull...), in all third-party integrations. This means these accounts now work out of the box without you needing to set up SSH keys:
- GitHub accounts: They already used HTTPS, no changes were made.
- GitLab accounts: You will need to log out and log back in to your GitLab account. After logging back in, you will be able to clone, push, and pull your public and private repositories without needing to set up SSH keys.
- Bitbucket accounts: All sessions were automatically invalidated, you may have noticed a forced re-login some hours ago. After logging back in, you will be able to clone, push, and pull your public and private repositories without needing to set up SSH keys.
- Codeberg accounts: They already used HTTPS, but it should now work more reliably.
> [!NOTE]
> Please note that already cloned repositories will continue to use SSH for git operations. There is no advantage to switching them to HTTPS, but if you want to do so you can either:
> - Delete the repository and re-clone it from within the app, or
> - Change the remote URL to use the HTTPS URL
Fixes:
- The Compare tab (Ahead/Behind list) is now correctly refreshed when switching branches, pulling remote changes, etc.
- When "Wrap lines" is disabled in the diff options, resizing the window or sidebar now correctly updates the horizontal scrollbar.
- Fixed a race condition that could show incorrect error information or cause the app to remove the incorrect branch if the user switched branches while the "Pull all" process was in progress. |

Warning
If you use Winget to install Desktop Plus in Windows, you will need to uninstall the old package name (polrivero.GitHubDesktopPlus) and install the new package name (DesktopPlus.DesktopPlus) to continue receiving updates.
Unlike other package managers, Winget does not support a user-friendly way to transition from one package name to another.
You can reinstall Desktop Plus using the following commands:
winget uninstall polrivero.GitHubDesktopPlus --all-versions
winget install DesktopPlus.DesktopPlus
Changes and improvements:
- [#217] The old "Change group name", "Restore group name" and "Pin/Unpin repository" repository context menu options have been replaced with a new "Assign to group" submenu. Thank you @s-iorio!
This makes it much easier to create new groups and assign repositories to them, especially when you have many repositories in your list. It also reduces clutter in the context menu.
- [#216] Allow disabling line wrapping in the diff view. Thank you @ignatremizov!
To disable it, click on the "Diff options" gear icon and uncheck the "Wrap lines" option.
- [#221] When using the "Pull all" button to update all repositories, if the checked-out branch has been removed in the remote, the app will now offer to switch to the main branch and optionally delete the local branch. Thank you @guplem!
- [#175] Allow configuring the default strategy (Merge or Rebase) for updating from the default branch (Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + U). Thank you @kurtextrem!
To change the update strategy, go to File > Repository options > Git config.
Fixes:
- [#219] Fix a bug where the "Checkout commit" option was grayed out for some commits in the commit graph view. Thank you @jabelardo! |
| 3.6.3-r1 | 16 de juliol del 2026 | — | 64 bits EXEARM64 EXE Notes de la versióUpstream: GitHub Desktop 3.6.3 release notes
Changes and improvements:
- [#178] We now support Codeberg accounts in Desktop Plus! Thank you @fl-f for your contribution!
You can now sign in using your Codeberg account and:
- Clone repositories from within the app.
- Preview and create pull requests.
- View pull request status, including checks.
- Enjoy other minor UI improvements that make your experience with Codeberg better.
- You can now rename stashes to make them easier to identify.
Simply click the edit (pencil) icon next to the stash title, or right-click on a stash in the Changes list and select "Rename...".
- All OAuth providers (GitHub, Bitbucket, GitLab, and Codeberg) now use PKCE (Proof Key for Code Exchange) for improved security. You shouldn't notice any difference in your sign-in experience, but if you encounter any problems, please open an issue.
Fixes:
- [#213] Handle autosquash prefixes properly when rendering conventional commit badges.
- [#215] Avoid showing the developer tools panel when quickly hovering over PRs in the PR list.
- The native title bar now shows the correct Desktop Plus logo instead of the upstream (GitHub Desktop) logo. |
