Notes de la versió
The Beta build for CLion 2026.3 is now available.
- When a CMake profile fails to load, CLion now offers to fix the project setup with an AI agent that runs in the terminal. The agent then uses the IDE’s MCP server to fix your CMake profiles and toolchains and reload the project.
- DAP debug profiles now let you set environment variables and a custom working directory for the debugger.
- When you edit debug profiles in the debug-profiles.json file:
- Unknown properties are now highlighted in the editor.
- CLion now asks for confirmation before changes from the settings overwrite unknown properties or unsaved edits in the file.
- The file now uses the indent from the IDE code style for global profiles and from the project code style for project profiles.
Please try this build, share your feedback, and report any issues to our issue tracker.
Thank you for using CLion!
263.7031.19 15 d’octubre del 2026 — 64 bits EXE (NSIS)64 bits EXE (NSIS)ARM64 EXE (NSIS)ARM64 EXE (NSIS)
Notes de la versió
A new EAP build for CLion 2026.3 is available.
- CLion can now visualize the memory layout of C and C++ classes, structs, and unions, so you can analyze memory usage more easily. Place the caret on a type name, click the Show Context Actions icon, and select Class Layout to open the layout in a separate window.
- Each debug profile now has a Configure Profile in .json action that opens the profile's configuration file in the editor.
- We've fixed an issue caused by recent PlatformIO updates that prevented CLion from loading the list of boards when creating a new PlatformIO project. The wizard now shows the boards instead of staying on Gathering info....
- The Markdown preview now updates when a linked image file changes on disk.
Please try this build, share your feedback, and report any issues to our issue tracker.
Thank you for using CLion!

Notes de la versió
The latest CLion 2026.3 EAP build is out with the following highlights:
- Debug profiles are now stored as JSON files by default. You can configure them manually or with an AI agent, and use existing JSON debug configurations from other environments, such as VS Code. This also provides you with configuration options that are not currently exposed in CLion’s UI.
- When a requires expression evaluates to false, the IDE now shows more detailed diagnostics explaining why the requirement is ill-formed. For example, it can show that a function is inaccessible, deleted, ambiguous, or unresolved.
- The new Inspect This action helps you quickly find relevant ways to analyze the code at the caret. Use ⌘⌥⇧A on macOS or Ctrl+Alt+Shift+A on Windows/Linux. Depending on the context, the popup gives you access to class layout, code issues, type hierarchy, or all these at once.
- The bundled CMake has been updated to v4.4.2.

The new CLion 2026.3 EAP build is now available with several enhancements. The key update is an improvement to the Profiles switcher in the main toolbar, making it easier to spot problems in the toolchain and debug configurations. A yellow warning icon now indicates when the selected build system or toolchain profile is incompatible with the selected debug profile. For example, a CMake profile that uses the system toolchain on macOS is incompatible with GDB, or a Docker toolchain is incompatible with a local debugger profile. The icon appears both on the switcher and next to the affected profile inside it. Hover over the warning icon to see a description of the issue. You can also open the profile settings directly from the switcher by clicking the gear icon.

The Early Access Program (EAP) for CLion 2026.3 has launched, and the first EAP build is now available.
This build improves data breakpoints, also known as watchpoints, which are helpful when you need to focus on a specific variable and track its behavior as the program runs. Setting a data breakpoint is now much easier and no longer interrupts your debugging workflow. You can now:
- Set a data breakpoint from the Breakpoints dialog, as you would with regular breakpoints, or directly in the editor by right-clicking a variable.
- Add a data breakpoint using either a variable name or its address.
- Configure the same parameters available for regular breakpoints, such as conditions, hit counts, and detailed logging.
Read our roadmap blog post to learn what else to expect from this EAP.

CLion 2026.2 Beta is here, bringing two important updates:
- We’ve simplified the debugger configuration by providing a single place to configure all your debugging setups – local, remote, and embedded. Whether you’re using GDB, LLDB, SEGGER J-Link, or ST-LINK, everything now lives in Settings | Debugger | Debug Profiles.
- CLion now provides highlighting and code analysis for C++26 reflection. This gives you a standard way to access information about types, functions, variables, and other declarations at compile time. It’s available in the IDE with GCC 16.1 or later.
The 2026.2 Beta also includes improvements introduced during the Early Access Program:
- You can now rename targets in your CMakeLists.txt files automatically using the Rename refactoring action (Shift+F6). It updates all definitions and usages of the target name across your project.
- The debugger now automatically tracks fields and global variables, displaying them in the Threads & Variables pane.
- Live watches now support arrays and structs, and a new button lets you clear the variable value history.
- We’ve updated the bundled CMake to v4.3 and GDB to v17.1.

The new EAP build for CLion 2026.1 brings several improvements to complement the features introduced earlier. Here are the most important ones:
- We’ve added support for TCP connections with DAP debuggers. You can also choose between two modes: Launch and Attach, depending on which one your DAP debugger requires. Learn how to configure DAP debuggers in the documentation.
- When examining the suspended program, you can now change the number format for individual numeric variables, switching between decimal, hexadecimal, octal, or binary.
- You can now specify command-line options for CMake profiles faster, thanks to code completion in the CMake options and Build options fields.
- CMake preset names that you see in the IDE’s UI are now based on the displayName value specified in CMakePresets.json – instead of the name value as before. This allows you to use more human-friendly, descriptive names for your CMake presets.

The new EAP build for CLion 2026.1 includes the following major updates:
- CLion now provides an easy way to set up or fine-tune code insight for all types of projects – including those based on unsupported project formats – and for non-project files, too. To enable this functionality, configure your C/C++ properties in the c_cpp_properties.json file. This feature also simplifies migration from VS Code for users who already work with C/C++ properties.
- We’ve significantly improved the performance of the LLDB-based custom debugger when using Natvis expressions with the MSVC toolchain. Internal tests have shown debugging speed improvements of more than 80x and a 2.5x reduction in memory usage. This is especially beneficial for those working with large projects that use the Natvis framework extensively. These improvements benefit users of both CLion and Rider, which use this debugger. Learn more in the Rider team’s blog post.

The Early Access Program (EAP) for CLion 2026.1 has officially launched, and the first EAP build is here!
Here are some of the key updates and improvements:
- Debugging in remote development is now much more responsive and stable, thanks to a reworked debugger architecture. The debugger tool window and breakpoints are now rendered on the IDE frontend, while the backend hosts the active debugger session and communicates with the target process. Please note that there are still some issues that we are working on.
- CLion Nova now extends deducing this support to assignment operators and defaulted comparison operators when explicit object parameters are used (CWG 2586, CPP-42767).
- With ClangFormat enabled, committing code formatting changes now works as expected.
- CLion Nova now provides limited support for code completion, syntax highlighting, code formatting, and other editor features for projects without run/debug configurations, where the project context is unavailable.
Please try this build, share your feedback, and report any issues to issue tracker.

CLion 2025.3 Beta is now available, featuring numerous updates and improvements introduced during the Early Access Program. Here are the most important ones:
- We’ve implemented a constexpr debugger, which allows you to debug constexpr evaluations, including consteval functions, in the same way as with a regular debugger. You can perform basic debugging actions, such as stepping through the code or observing the evaluation stack, and use other features available during standard runtime debugging. Read our blog post to learn more.
- We’ve added support for the Debug Adapter Protocol (DAP), which brings CLion closer to becoming a debugger-agnostic IDE. You can provide a path to your debugger with DAP support in Settings | Build, Execution, Deployment | Debugger | DAP Debuggers. Learn more about the feature in this blog post.
- The Serial Port Monitor plugin is now bundled in CLion, so you won’t need to install it manually. We’ve also improved the tool’s UI, including adding a more detailed description of devices in the port connection list to help you easily distinguish between them.
- CLion now supports the Visual Studio 2026 Insiders toolchain for Windows. This early-access version of Visual Studio 2026 provides the new MSVC build tools v14.50, including v19.50 of the C++ compiler. This compiler version supports new language features in C++23, including the auto(x) and auto{x} syntax that allows you to create a decayed prvalue or, to put it simply, to copy an object to a temporary (P0849R8). The compiler has also received several important bug fixes.
- We’ve streamlined the project configuration process for developers working with the nRF Connect SDK. Now, CLion accepts sysbuild as the default build configuration for these projects, so you can build, run, and debug them without having to configure additional West settings.

- Several usability improvements have been made to the PlatformIO integration. You can now specify environment variables in run/debug configurations and receive suggestions to reload a PlatformIO project when new files are added to the project root. Additionally, there is now an option to load the project as a PlatformIO project when no other model is present.
- The Serial Port Monitor plugin has also received a number of enhancements, such as shortcuts for adding and removing profiles, support for custom baud rates, and UI updates, including a new tool window icon and a JetBrains Marketplace logo.
- You can now inspect variables when debugging on Windows ARM64 using the MSVC toolchain with the bundled LLDB.
- The debugger now detects errors in conditional breakpoint evaluation and displays them in the gutter.
- When extracting a method or function with CLion Nova enabled, you can now set the return value to one of the local variables.
- CLion Nova now supports new C++26 features, such as pack indexing, packs in structured binding declarations, and expansion statements.
- CLion Nova’s editor tooltips now show the total number of padding bytes in a class, helping you optimize your objects’ memory layout.
- CLion Nova now supports the _Complex and _Imaginary C99 modifiers for floating-point types.

CLion 2025.2 Beta is now available with several improvements and bug fixes.
These major bug fixes are related to CLion Nova:
- We’ve significantly reworked the C/C++ code formatter’s functionality, the corresponding status bar widget, and the widget and settings UI. The main result of this improvement is that the relationship between the editor’s indent size, the status bar widget’s information, and the formatter settings is now consistent and clear. You can also configure alternative formatters, such as ClangFormat, Indents Detection, or EditorConfig, directly from the widget, without having to do so via the settings.
- You can now configure patterns for header guard symbols in Settings | Editor | Code Style | C/C++ | Naming Convention. This helps you keep header guard names in the format you prefer. You can also create custom header guard templates.
- The Go to Declaration or Usages action now also shows declarations, as expected.
- CLion Nova now integrates support for the CMake import std; module when using a combination of Clang and libc++ on macOS and Linux. Note that there is a macOS bug related to installing Clang with Homebrew. To fix it, use the workaround and also set the absolute path for libc++.modules.json in the cidr.compiler.info.std.modules.json.path registry.
- CLion Nova no longer mistakenly replaces forward slashes with backslashes when using the Copy/Paste Special | Copy Reference action.
- The Undo action works again in remote mode.
Other important updates include the following:
- We’ve added the ability to select various data formats, such as decimal, hexadecimal, and binary, for live watches. You can also customize the columns in the Live Watches tab by changing their width or order, or by hiding any unused ones.
- We’ve updated the bundled CMake version to v4.0.2, which removed compatibility with versions older than 3.5. For example, running a project with cmake_minimum_required(VERSION 3.4) in a CMakeLists.txt file now causes an error. However, you can use the CMAKE_POLICY_VERSION_MINIMUM variable to configure existing projects that are based on unsupported CMake versions (learn more about the variable).
- While debugging, you can now suppress low-level exceptions triggered by __debugbreak() or inline assembly with int3. This is especially useful when debugging complex game projects because it allows you to skip the game engine’s low-level assertions that trigger manual breakpoints. (Learn more.)
- We’ve added support for C++26 variadic friend declarations.

A new 2025.2 EAP build is now available. It includes the following major updates related to CLion Nova:
- When working in remote mode, the typing assistant now runs on the thin client instead of the server. This means your internet connection no longer affects the IDE’s responsiveness. Features like auto-inserting pair parentheses or smart indentation when pressing Backspace are now as fast as in local mode.
- CLion Nova now correctly imports #defines from a header unit, which is transitively imported through a named module and directly imported at the same time.
- The false Zero constant can be replaced with nullptr warning no longer appears when a literal 0 is compared with an expression of a standard comparison category type.
