- Anaconda3 now ships with Python 3.14 (upgraded from Python 3.13).
- This release includes the anaconda-channel-guide plugin, which notifies users when packages not found in their configured channels are available through other Anaconda channels, including the new main-x channel.
- Added jedi and libxml2 to the package list.
- Removed pycurl and scrapy from the package list.
- Added architecture checks for macOS PKG and SH installers. Attempting to install a macOS installer onto an Intel Mac will now lead to an error at the beginning of the installation.
- Updated the macOS PKG installer error message when the target directory already exists. The error message now includes a link to the uninstall instructions.
- The option to choose a specific install location has been removed from the macOS PKG installers for this release due to a bug specifically with macOS Tahoe (version 26).
- Each installation now contains an .installer.info file with information about the installer to simplify diagnostics.

Bug fixes
- The ~/.anaconda directory is now deleted when choosing to remove user data during uninstallation.
- Fixed an issue where macOS PKG installers would fail when file ownership in $HOME could not be changed.
- Fixed a bug in EXE installers that prevented uninstallation if the installation was added to PATH.
- Fixed a bug for EXE installers that caused package extraction to fail with Windows Defender Application Control.

- Conda has been updated to v25.11.0. Please see our blog announcement for more details on other package updates and features.
- Windows 10 version 1809 (October 2018 Update) is now the minimum supported Windows version. This is the minimum runtime requirement for Qt6, which is required for GUI packages shipped in the Anaconda Distribution installer.
- MacOS 12.1 is now the minimum supported MacOS version.

Bug fixes
- Removed excessive write permissions during the installation process (CVE-2025-64343). During the installation process, the installation directory may give write permissions to authenticated users. This happens for both single-user and all-user installations. Write permissions are now hardened immediately when the installation starts.

Known issues
- Both Qt5 and Qt6 are included in this release: Qt6 supports Navigator 2.7.0 and most GUI packages, while Qt5 remains for Spyder 6.1.0 compatibility. This duplication will no longer be required in future releases when Spyder has migrated to Qt6.
- When closing Navigator, users may see a Qt-related error message in the terminal. This does not affect Navigator functionality.
- Amazon Linux 2 compatibility issue: Anaconda 2025.12 and compiled packages in the main channel built after September 2025 require glibc 2.28 or later. Amazon Linux 2 (which uses glibc 2.26) is not supported.
- Recommended migration path: Upgrade to Amazon Linux 2023 or Ubuntu 22.04 LTS.
- Note: Amazon Linux 2 reaches AWS end-of-support in June 2026.

- Conda has been updated to v25.5.1.
- The EULA of the installer has been updated.
- New conda plugins added:
- anaconda-auth: An authentication library for Anaconda services allowing users to log into anaconda.com and providing Anaconda Business users more streamlined access to PSM Cloud. NOTE: anaconda-auth replaces conda-token.
- conda-anaconda-tos: This plugin prompts users to accept or reject the Anaconda Terms of Service when updated terms are available.
- conda-anaconda-telemetry: This plugin captures anonymous data on package installation and searches. Anonymous telemetry data is collected for the following commands: conda create, conda install, conda search, and conda list.
- The linux-s390x (IBM Z & LinuxONE) installer is no longer supported as of March 31, 2025.
- Significant improvements for uninstallers:
- macOS and Linux installations now come with an uninstall.sh file that removes the Anaconda Distribution installation. Additional options allow users to remove data files ($HOME/.conda), .condarc files, and cache files during the uninstallation. For more information, see our documentation.
- Windows uninstallers will come with an extra page that allows users to delete data files (%USERPROFILE%\.conda), .condarc files, and cache files during the uninstallation. For more information, see our documentation.
- In shell (.sh) installers, using environment variables for the installation directory in interactive installations now requires the envsubst command to be pre-installed.

Bug fixes
- The channels list in the .condarc file now points to defaults instead of explicit URLs. This helps prevent automatic injection of Anaconda’s main channels into the channel list.
- In package (.pkg) installers, files created by conda init now have the correct owner.

- The defaults channel is always added to the channels list. For workarounds, see the Anaconda troubleshooting page.

Bug Fixes
- MacOS .pkg installers install into /opt now to circumvent this issue. The user will be prompted for authorization when using the new default path. The MacOS .sh installers remain unchanged.
