Glucose 4 understands what is being said: live subtitles as you watch, translated on your own PC, placed where they don't cover faces or on-screen text.
What's new

Live subtitles
- Subtitles are generated while the video plays, for videos that have none. Turn them on from the subtitle menu (Generate with AI → Live), or let Glucose start them by itself in Settings → AI → Live Subtitles.
- Everything runs on your PC with Whisper. Nothing is uploaded.
- Generated subtitles are remembered, so a video you return to does not have to be processed again.
- "Pause until ready" holds the video when it gets ahead of the subtitles.

Live translation
- Translate live subtitles from English into German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Russian or Turkish, or from any of these into English.
- Each language pair is a small download (about 20 MB) in Settings → AI → Translation models, and runs on your PC.
- "Show original subtitles too" shows the original line, smaller, under the translation.

Smart subtitle position
- With Placement set to Smart (subtitle style panel or Settings → Player), subtitles move to the top when the bottom of the picture has on-screen text, a face or a bright area, and come back down when it is clear.
- Fixed keeps them exactly where the Position slider puts them.

Features tab
- Settings → Features checks your PC (processor, memory, graphics, and a short speed test) and tells you which features will run well on it, so nothing promises more than your PC can do.

Subtitle files
- Subtitle files whose names differ from the video (another release of the same film, a Subs folder, language tags) are now offered in the subtitle menu under "Subtitle files nearby".

Fixes
- The window no longer freezes while a video stored in OneDrive (or another cloud folder) is downloading.
- File pickers open in front of the player in fullscreen and picture-in-picture.
- Settings → Library shows full folder paths.
- The error screen's Close button works, and "Report issue" leaves your file paths out of the report.

Good to know
- Live subtitles and translation need a speech model; download one in Settings → AI if you have not yet.
- Speed depends on your PC. Settings → Features shows what to expect on yours.

- New Features
- Added native window controls with live maximize-state tracking and improved maximize/restore behavior across view modes, including PiP/fullscreen.
- Enhanced fullscreen/cinematic playback with accurate borderless fullscreen sizing per monitor and restoration of prior window geometry; added smoother draggable window regions.
- Bug Fixes
- Added a startup reveal fail-safe so the window becomes visible even if setup status stalls.
- Improved event-listener cleanup to avoid stale maximize/resize behavior.
- Style
- Updated windowed chrome with rounded corners/shadows and removed rounded chrome for fullscreen playback.
