rolltape፦ ሁሉም ስሪቶች እና የቆዩ ስሪቶች

Shorts mode. Hold a key. Tape rolls. Captions appear.
rolltape 0.2.0 turns clips into direct-postable shorts:
- Region capture — drag a capture region in Settings (with a 9:16 snap); snapped regions export at 1080×1920, ready for TikTok/Shorts.
- Auto-captions — TikTok-style word-highlight captions burned in locally by whisper.cpp. Two presets (Hormozi, Minimal), Montserrat ExtraBold, word-level timing. Engine and model download on first use with SHA-256 verification — nothing bundled, nothing uploaded, fully offline. NVIDIA GPUs get the multilingual large-v3-turbo model (seconds per clip); CPU uses base.en.
- Transcript sidecars — .srt + .txt next to every captioned clip.
- Always-safe output — the clean, full-frame clip <ts>.mp4 is always produced (the file to feed editors and pipelines); the captioned file is additive. Any caption failure = clean clip only, never lost footage.
- Silence gate — silent or near-silent clips skip captioning entirely (loudness measured in the existing audio pass; whisper never runs on silence, so no hallucinated captions).
Also: 58 new tests (122 total), a hardened finalize pipeline (per-clip config snapshots, scoped NVENC failure detection, captions circuit-breaker), and assorted fixes from an adversarial multi-agent review of the whole branch.
Install
Download rolltape 0.2.0.exe (portable, no installer) and run it. Verify:
certutil -hashfile "rolltape 0.2.0.exe" SHA256
and compare against SHA256SUMS.txt. The exe is unsigned; SmartScreen may warn on first run.

Notes
- Windows 10 2004+ required
- Captions without a region produce a landscape captioned file (the settings hint says so)
- CPU transcription skips clips over 10 minutes; no caption editing in this release — the save toast quotes the transcript so mishears are visible
