Context Menu now shows the add-ons that actually make your right-click slow. The tab was listing
only half of what is on that menu: the plain entries, with a name and a command. The other half — the
add-ons that archivers, cloud sync clients and antivirus install — was invisible, and it is the half
responsible for a right-click taking a second to open, because Windows has to load each add-on and wait
for it before the menu can appear. They are now in the same list, each one named after the program it
belongs to rather than a raw class id, with a new "Type" column saying which kind a row is. Hiding an
add-on needs a machine-wide setting SysManager does not write yet, so its switch is plainly disabled
instead of moving without effect — uninstalling the program that added it removes it.
Added
- COM shell extensions registered under shellex\ContextMenuHandlers are scanned and listed, across all
six roots they register under, de-duplicated so an add-on registered under several does not appear
several times.
- Each add-on's class id is resolved to its friendly name and its server DLL, so a row reads like a
program name. An add-on left behind by an uninstalled program is still listed, and says so — Explorer
keeps looking for it on every right-click.
- A "Type" column distinguishing a menu entry from an add-on, and a "Files and folders" location filter
for add-ons that apply to both.
Fixed
- The "Applies to" filter could not select every location a row can have, so rows with the missing one
were visible under "All" and nowhere else.
- A preset no longer counts add-ons among the entries it promises to switch off. It could not have
switched them off — LegacyDisable has no effect on an add-on — so the confirmation would have named
a number, written a useless registry value into each one, and left the menu unchanged.
- An add-on's source is read from its file path rather than through the parser meant for command lines,
which stopped at the first space. That only affected add-ons whose file is gone — exactly the leftovers
this list exists to surface, and the ones where a readable name matters most, since there is no running
program to recognise them by. One under "Program Files" was attributed to "Program".
- An add-on registered through an environment variable, as the ones built into Windows are, now resolves
to the program it belongs to instead of falling back to a bare file name.
Verify the download
Get-FileHash .\SysManager-v1.100.0.exe -Algorithm SHA256
Expected SHA256: 201751B0C760D4BCA91BED12542FD174D8F957DD5C87C6C571770183C8E72E84
This build is not code-signed, so Windows will warn on first launch. That is
expected for a small independent app: see what the warning says and what to
click.
Code signing is planned through the SignPath Foundation,
which provides free certificates to open-source projects, with signing performed by
SignPath.io. Until then, the SHA256 above and the build
attestation below are what establish that a download is the genuine build.
Code signing policy
This release is not code-signed. The team roles, release-approval process and
privacy policy required by the SignPath Foundation programme
are documented in advance under Code signing
policy. That
documentation is a prerequisite for applying, not evidence of a certificate. The
attribution line naming SignPath as the signing provider will appear here once a
certificate is actually issued.
This program will not transfer any information to other networked systems unless
specifically requested by the user or the person installing or operating it. Full
privacy policy.
Verify where this binary came from
This exe was built by GitHub Actions from this public source, and the build is
recorded in the Sigstore public transparency log. With the
GitHub CLI:
gh attestation verify .\SysManager-v1.100.0.exe --repo laurentiu021/SystemManager
That proves which commit and workflow produced this exact binary, something the
SHA256 file cannot show, since it is published alongside the exe it describes.
Each release also ships SysManager-v1.100.0.sbom.json, a CycloneDX inventory of
every dependency resolved for this build.
