- Beta Optimization Engine Improvements
- The Beta Optimization Engine now produces tighter layouts with less material wastage.
- Clearer Messages When a Job Can’t Be Opened
- Opening a file that isn’t a MaxCut job (e.g. a PDF or Excel file) now shows a clear message instead of Failed to load settings.
- Job files that are empty, damaged, in use by another program, or missing now explain the problem and what to do next.
- Your open job stays exactly as it was if another file fails to open.
- Faster Updates
- From your next update onwards, updating from within MaxCut skips the terms and conditions screen and installs straight away.
- MaxCut now starts faster, because your license is checked online once a day instead of on every launch.
- The support bundle now includes your Windows regional number and currency settings, helping us resolve import and pricing issues faster.
Fixes
- Correct Edging Across Layouts
- Panels with different edging no longer share a layout, so edging and quantities now match your input items.
- Group by Edging is now on by default for new users.
- Existing users: go to Settings > Layout > Layout Grouping and tick Edging to apply this fix.
- Line prices are now calculated exactly. For example, 12 × 5.95 now shows 71.40 instead of 71.41.
- Job Layout (No Occurrence Grouping) now correctly shows x1 for each layout.
- Grain matching now works with materials that use sub sizes on the last sheet only. It no longer shows a Value cannot be null error or incorrectly triggers the Community Edition grain match limit.
- Report footers now print at the correct size in batch prints that mix portrait and landscape reports.
- Importing very large Excel or CSV files no longer runs out of memory. The import preview now shows the first 50 rows.
- Printing labels for a job with no panels (e.g. labour only) now shows “No data to display” instead of an error.
- The Never Rotate description now correctly reads “The length of the panel follows the length of the sheet material.”
- The Expansion Legend no longer appears on layouts without expansions when using the Beta Optimization Engine.
- Adding several library items to a job at once now works reliably, without the Collection was modified error.
- If MaxCut can’t start, it now shows a clear message and records the cause, so support requests can be resolved faster.
